I keep reading about how ‘all women’ fancy him since watching him on traitors. I don’t get it. He’s not funny (on or off traitors), he’s pasty (not pale, pale is cool), was an absolute coward in the mission on the show and fucked his team mates over, and above all of this, is seemingly devoid of any interesting personality.

For those who find him attractive, please explain

OP posts:

I genuinely didn't see either of those comments in the linked clip - was that in a longer extract of the full show?

I agree, I didn't see any misogyny in the clip

Surely we can forgive a man whose girlfriend left him for Mr. Bean ?

I'd pick Rowan Atkinson over James A in a heartbeat. Genuinely intelligent, thinking and funny man - and I think he's grown into himself looks-wise and is a lot more handsome as an older guy (much like Hugh Laurie).

I guess he loses marks for the cliche of dumping his wife for a new model half his age, but I'll set that to one side for our fling Grin

Well as I didn’t say any of that it would appear that it’s you saying that.

Eh?

GoodGirlFaith · Yesterday 11:03

I like him; he seems decent. And yes, I think he is attractive.

OP just comes over as a nasty little bully.

GinAndJuice99 · Yesterday 11:08

He's objectively very good looking

Criticising him for being 'pasty' is unkind. He won't see this thread but plenty of 'pasty' people insecure about their appearance will

God it just goes to show, I’d put him at a 4 at best,

MrsShawnHatosy · Yesterday 11:22

I like him, and he’s certainly not unattractive.

Bubstar · Yesterday 11:35

Each to their own but personally I can't stand him. A coward, soy boy, and gives me Wormtongue from LOTR vibe.

James Acaster has never confirmed he has autism.

Yes he has, in shows for his recent stand up tour.

This thread is strange at best and unkind at worst. Other people find different things attractive, it's fine if you don't agree.

I’ve liked him for ages. I share his sense of humour, maybe it’s an ND thing but as someone who feels weird, I like his weird. I’ve always been into gangly awkward types 😆 I was totally with him on the shield task. It was too risky being stood where he was. He didn’t want to be a traitor in the first place

ZippyPeer · Yesterday 12:05

So I've read that article, and it quotes what they say in the podcast clip, but I still can't see any misogyny?

James A is pointing out that actors in the series know there is going to be a backlash when they get announced? That isn't misogyny?

AnnunciataM · Yesterday 12:18

Didn't his ex-girlfriend (Kate on The Windsors) leave him for Rowan Atkinson? Or am I thinking of a different comedian?

If he didn't want to be a traitor and was willing to just opt out, the sensible thing to have done would be to take the heat off the others and get the task done. He seemed to be forgetting that it's a game, working as a team to get the money is important and it's not all about him feeling anxious, and even if he fucks up / gets the boot so what, you don't just turn your nose up at the tasks. Yes maybe there's an ND element but I'm wary of just excusing all selfish behaviour as ND.

I didn't understand why they found that task so hard. Once they had sneaked out of their positions they could have walked around quickly and noisily, it wouldn't matter as no one could see them - and they could have easily dismantled a ready-made shield to make the money-winning shield without having to figure anything out. They could also have walked "back" close to other players to throw faithfuls off the scent. I was shouting at the telly!

Congratulations on winning 'Pointless comment on the Day' (so far!). Such an inspiring, thoughtful and meaningful post...

When did I say him being ND is why he didn’t do the task? I said that’s probably why I like him. I was with him on the shield task because it looked like it could be pretty easy to be caught by anyone with decent hearing (like how Miranda kept feeling the floor shake, she just got the direction wrong). Anyway, I’m sure those who like him liked him already, and wouldn’t judge someone based on being too scared to do something risky on a gameshow

weeder · Yesterday 12:33

When he was younger, I thought that facially he looked like The Statue of David by Michelangelo. In a good light i think he still has that look.

But it wasn't "risky" in any meaningful sense. I would be more sympathetic if it was someone with a fear of heights, or a disability (or ND) that meant they'd be unable to do a particular task or be likely to fail at it. But he just faced the risk of being heard, as did the other two, and possibly banished. There's nothing about him that means he can't tiptoe around.

It's a central theme of "Cold Lasagne I Hate Myself"

"Peak Bean town" 😂

Me too! He is so fucking clever and funny, sooooo attractive. Him and Victoria must spend their days in absolute hysterics.

I like James A. I think he’s come across as a genuinely honest and lovely man who felt compromised in a position where he had to lie. Makes him more attractive in
mu eyes. And I do think he’s a clever an funny man.

The episode of Would I lie to You> where Victoria talks about David's underwear is hilarious.

He’s an absolute twat. Why any woman would find a man who thinks women’s rights are a joke attractive is beyond me. What he looks like and how he sounds is irrelevant. His views on women’s rights is clear misogyny.

Ive only seen him on traitors and thought he was a bit of a non entity with his "ooh look at me im soo uncomfortable being a baddie", but ugh, yeah he's a complete twat.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Also to the PP who said they'd never be able to fancy Stephen Graham, no worries there as I'll happily have him. Broad scouse accent and all!

And I reallllllyyyyy recommend listening to Stephen's episode of Off Menu where he and James have a "disagreement". I had to pull the car over as I was laughing so hard.

That is the best episode of Off Menu! The only episode I listened to twice.

Totaldramallama · Yesterday 15:56

I've like him for years but funny enough traitors has been the first time I've found myself fancying him. I enjoy his stand up and don't find him aloof or rude at all, nor does he have a lisp. Also, he would have been caught immediately if he had moved during that task so he quite clearly made the right move
