I keep reading about how ‘all women’ fancy him since watching him on traitors. I don’t get it. He’s not funny (on or off traitors), he’s pasty (not pale, pale is cool), was an absolute coward in the mission on the show and fucked his team mates over, and above all of this, is seemingly devoid of any interesting personality.

For those who find him attractive, please explain

Oh interesting, you see I think the opposite. From his behaviour on Saturday Kitchen, Taskmaster and Traitors, I just don’t think he seems a very nice person at all. Rude, aloof, condescending. Like he things he’s above it all

I might have taken you seriously if you'd led with this rather than making fun of physical attributes or a speech impediment

Mookie81 · Yesterday 01:12

It's not a lisp, he speaks like he has a blocked nose. I think it's an affectation and I think he's a twat.

Firefly1987 · Yesterday 01:12

I don't watch Traitors but I thought he was hot years ago on Hypothetical. He has a very nice smile. I'm surprised women are only just noticing? He's been around for yonks!

It’s a phenomenon: man gets a bit of media exposure; (some) women decide they fancy them. I think they’re just bored.

But if he didn’t get media exposure I would never have heard of him.

In my case, it’s specifically Traitors exposure, I don’t watch the other things he’s in.

growinguptobreakingdown · Yesterday 02:33

Dishonest? It's called Traitors! I think this is a mean thread. He is autistic and I think that comes over in the way he talks and behaves. To say someone's voice is an affectation when he has spoken that way since he 1st came on our screens way back is bonkers. I like his humour and vulnerability- he said himself he would be an awful traitor and filming was paused as he found it so anxiety provoking having to lie. I really enjoy his podcast with Ed Gamble. I don't fancy him but I'm not watching or listening to him for that.

oh really? I listen to the Ed Gamble thing straight after but nothing else and didn’t know this.

I liked James A for a while. Though I disagree on him bottling it at the mission, there is no way he would not have been rumbled. He made the right choice

I've never liked James Acaster since he was so rude to Alex Horne on Taskmaster - never said hello or acknowledged him when doing any of the tasks.

Perhaps it was meant to make him look cool or edgy but I just thought he seemed like a twat.

I've had no reason since to alter my opinion!

I don’t watch Tadkmaster, but really enjoyed this clip the algorithm sent my way.
Greg going teacher mode on Acaster after an obnoxious outburst. He comes over as a bratty little git to me, have always found his personality unpleasant, so I thoroughly enjoyed this.

I like him and find him funny , I always did . I never noticed a lisp. Not my type so don’t fancy him but I like him as a comedian. And yes he is autistic.

Wingingit73 · Yesterday 06:25

Now i fancy him to annoy you. Why would you post something so mean spirited .

DeftGoldHedgehog · Yesterday 06:26

I'm sure you have misunderstood his humour, he's very self-deprecating.

Stormyrose · Yesterday 06:44

He certainly not remotely handsome or sexy in my view, nor do I find his personality appealing,

People are attracted to different looks shocker!

Comedy is also very attractive - I’d take a funny man over a model-look any day. I have a weird thing for David Mitchell - his humour gets me and that’s an attractive feature so I assume those who find James funny feel the same.

I find funny men the most attractive. So I’m still baffled at why people find James attractive.

Greg helped him out there. Made something not funny, funny

“He’s not funny (on or off traitors)”

Except he’s one of the most successful comedians in the country. His comedy requires a bit more intelligence to get it, maybe Michael McIntyre is more your thing- humour for the masses.

CarpetSlipper · Yesterday 07:00

I don’t fancy him but he’s one of my favourite comedians. His stand up is brilliant.

GingerIsland · Yesterday 07:01

All those things you describe as aloof or condescending or rude, I read as socially awkward. Like he was a slightly odd shy child at school who made people laugh and turned it into a persona for his career.

I think he seems like a decent human, but from seeing him on stuff like bake off I think he just can’t handle pressure and that’s why he backed out of the mission. He read to me like he was having a panic.

I think people probably fancy him because they see him as non threatening and someone who will make them laugh.

Leavemetonguetied · Yesterday 07:01

He's quite a devout Christian and talks about enjoying going to Christian festivals. Having met a group of these men on the train last week I can see him fitting right in. They were oafish, loud and judgemental in a "we know the truth unlike these plebs" way. They behaved worse than your standard group of football fans.

JasmineMac · Yesterday 07:02

He's one of these 'also ran' comedians like Milton Jones. He's completely meh in both looks and entertainment value.

Whoever picked him and Richard E Grant to be traitors should get their jotters, both have made this series virtually unwatchable (such a contrast to the first series, which was amazing). Who in their right mind has the likes of Romesh and Rob available, but opts for Acaster? Bizarre.

WhereAreWeNow · Yesterday 07:02

He's not my bag but these things are very personal, aren't they? I don't think he's unattractive. I just don't fancy him. Fancy him even less after the cowardly Traitors task!

Edited

He was brought up Christian but has since rejected it.

Mermaidsarereal · Yesterday 07:06

Nah I don’t fancy him either. Kenny on the other hand though… he is hot!

“Whoever picked him”

er, it was fellow traitors Maya and Richard - did you not watch? I assume you did since you’re commenting on the show.

He's a super successful comedian- he’s in the Rob and Romesh league not the Milton Jones league in terms of success. His tours sell out, he’s a popular tv booking and he has a multi million pound top of the charts podcast.

NewNewForest · Yesterday 07:08

Can’t explain it either but he is inexplicably ridey 🤷‍♀️

Has a lisp? Wow so a physical issue that he can’t do anything about is a reason not to fancy him? What a mean thing to say

Is it mean or is it just being honest? We all find different things attractive and conversely also find different things unattractive. I find short men unattractive - they can’t help being short, am I being mean? I find a strong Liverpool accent unattractive too. So Stephen Graham is well down on my list of men whom I find attractive! I’m sure there are many people who would find me unattractive and I’m ok with that. They’re not being mean.
