I keep reading about how ‘all women’ fancy him since watching him on traitors. I don’t get it. He’s not funny (on or off traitors), he’s pasty (not pale, pale is cool), was an absolute coward in the mission on the show and fucked his team mates over, and above all of this, is seemingly devoid of any interesting personality.

For those who find him attractive, please explain

Tbf I fancied him before the Traitors

I find him a bit too passive now unfortunately, not that he would care 😄

TeenLifeMum · 28/10/2026 22:56

People are attracted to different looks shocker!

Comedy is also very attractive - I’d take a funny man over a model-look any day. I have a weird thing for David Mitchell - his humour gets me and that’s an attractive feature so I assume those who find James funny feel the same.

Sidebeforeself · 28/10/2026 22:57

Has a lisp? Wow so a physical issue that he can’t do anything about is a reason not to fancy him? What a mean thing to say

Yes. But…is he funny? I’ve literally never seen him be funny. Looking pasty and perplexed seems to be his go to

Not keen on how you’ve picked on his lisp - not cool- just bloody mean and cruel.

Fine to not like him but you don’t pick on something people can’t help

Violetparis · 28/10/2026 22:59

I've not noticed his lisp, he sounds like he's got a blocked nose all the time.

I find him mildly amusing but just because he’s not my go to for humour doesn’t mean he’s not funny. He’s clearly a successful comedian but that doesn’t mean you have to be a fan.

ItsAQuandryAlright · 28/10/2026 23:01

Me thinks he doth protest too much. I am always VERY wary of people who tell you what they're like, eg "I'm just too honest" "I'm just terrible at lying". They're usually the most dishonest, compulsive liars you'll ever meet, and that's why I'm not a fan of James A.

FishPie2 · 28/10/2026 23:01

He is a right twat. Never forgiven him for spoiling an eposide of Saturday kitchen by acting like a child, not an attractive look.

You’re right, sorry

I'd never really seen much of him before the traitors, and he's totally not my usual type but yes, I have caught myself thinking he's hot. I don't really know what it is about him, so can't help you there, but I'm glad it's not just me if it's something you've been hearing lots!

100% - there’s something really dishonest about him. And it came to light in that mission.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 28/10/2026 23:09

He doesn't have a lisp, not that that's a measure of how attractive someone is in any case.

I don't find him attractive, but he's not unattractive. He's normal-looking, maybe that's the appeal - he seems like someone you might work with or have gone to school with.

Sure. Based on a game show performance, seems reasonable. You go for it OP, take your torchlight and march him down to the village square and we will all throw poppadoms or bread at him. If he eats the bread, he’s the devil and if he wastes it, he should be cancelled and certainly never appear on Saturday Kitchen ever again.
Or something like that anyway…

Fretnoiz · 28/10/2026 23:17

I think he’s quite funny. Haven’t really seen him in much but have liked him on the traitors.

I think he did the right thing on the mission because he would have been rumbled.

To be honest I’d be surprised if all 3 get to final now

OliveHenry · 28/10/2026 23:30

I've never liked James Acaster since he was so rude to Alex Horne on Taskmaster - never said hello or acknowledged him when doing any of the tasks.

Perhaps it was meant to make him look cool or edgy but I just thought he seemed like a twat.

I've had no reason since to alter my opinion!

QuietChristmas2026 · 28/10/2026 23:37

For me, he comes across as a really safe person, very thoughtful, someone who would reserve any opinion on anything until he has thought about it and weighed up the pros and cons, someone who, even if you split up, he would be excellent about it and not have even a hint of twatty behaviour over it. I cannot imagine any woman anywhere saying ‘I went out with him years ago and he wouldn’t hand my stuff back’ - not saying that my impression is correct but that is definitely my impression of him as someone who has never seen him in anything, ever.

They are very very attractive qualities. Like, really attractive qualities.

Plus - does he have a lisp? I’ve honestly not noticed. But it wouldn’t mean anything, if he is how he comes across, then he’s ✅✅✅ lisp or not.

chucklebrother · 28/10/2026 23:44

His stand up on Netflix called Repertoire is hilarious, completely off the wall and so well thought out.

And his book was great too. I've been a fan for a while but not sure he is suited to The Traitors, he said himself he is playing it like a Faithful 😅 I don't think he is as naturally funny as Romesh and his humour is probably quite subjective.

Oh interesting, you see I think the opposite. From his behaviour on Saturday Kitchen, Taskmaster and Traitors, I just don’t think he seems a very nice person at all. Rude, aloof, condescending. Like he things he’s above it all

Ophy83 · Yesterday 00:00

To be fair when Claudia described that task on the traitors my immediate thought was "why would the traitors bother?" It was high risk with no obvious gain for them. It was reasonable to at least leave it for a round or 2 to see how the others got on assembling their shields. As it was, that was pretty tricky so they still had plenty of options left at the end to murder

Dweetfidilove · Yesterday 00:15

YANBU.

loratadine · Yesterday 00:31

OP, why are you being so rude about someone who doesn’t impact your life in any way?

There’s no need to make such an unpleasant thread about someone. This is real mean girl behaviour. Are you quite young?

HeddaGarbled · Yesterday 00:32

It’s a phenomenon: man gets a bit of media exposure; (some) women decide they fancy them. I think they’re just bored.

CliterallyObsessed · Yesterday 00:39

He’s tall, got nice hair, a good jawline and brow bone… plus he seems clever and kind.

That said, my fanny clamped shut when he bottled it on the shield task.

They think no one else will go there, so they're in with a chance.
