I keep reading about how ‘all women’ fancy him since watching him on traitors. I don’t get it. He’s not funny (on or off traitors), he’s pasty (not pale, pale is cool), was an absolute coward in the mission on the show and fucked his team mates over, and above all of this, is seemingly devoid of any interesting personality.

For those who find him attractive, please explain

For me, he comes across as a really safe person, very thoughtful, someone who would reserve any opinion on anything until he has thought about it and weighed up the pros and cons, someone who, even if you split up, he would be excellent about it and not have even a hint of twatty behaviour over it. I cannot imagine any woman anywhere saying ‘I went out with him years ago and he wouldn’t hand my stuff back’ - not saying that my impression is correct but that is definitely my impression of him as someone who has never seen him in anything, ever.

They are very very attractive qualities. Like, really attractive qualities.

Plus - does he have a lisp? I’ve honestly not noticed. But it wouldn’t mean anything, if he is how he comes across, then he’s ✅✅✅ lisp or not.

Are you his mum?

BigBadPotato · Yesterday 07:15

Well I don’t watch traitors and I certainly wouldn’t say I fancy him but I do think he can be quite funny. I say ‘started making it. Had a breakdown… Bon appetit’ often after cooking 😂 and the whole cabbage spiel on (I think??) would I lie to you? is hilarious. Comedy is subjective, same as attraction, to state the obvious.
To be fair tho op, this is a very weird thread. There’s no one saying you have to fancy him and it really cannot be the first time in your life you’ve come across the phenomenon of everyone liking different things?!

Soontobe60 · Yesterday 07:21

He’s an absolute twat. Why any woman would find a man who thinks women’s rights are a joke attractive is beyond me. What he looks like and how he sounds is irrelevant. His views on women’s rights is clear misogyny.

“Whoever picked him”

er, it was fellow traitors Maya and Richard - did you not watch? I assume you did since you’re commenting on the show.

He's a super successful comedian- he’s in the Rob and Romesh league not the Milton Jones league in terms of success. His tours sell out, he’s a popular tv booking and he has a multi million pound top of the charts podcast.

Please 🙄

It’s ok to like him and it’s ok not to like him 🤷‍♀️. I find him very funny and enjoy his stand up - others don’t. Not sure why you’re so bothered by this OP?

People are attracted to different looks shocker!

Comedy is also very attractive - I’d take a funny man over a model-look any day. I have a weird thing for David Mitchell - his humour gets me and that’s an attractive feature so I assume those who find James funny feel the same.

Me too! He is so fucking clever and funny, sooooo attractive. Him and Victoria must spend their days in absolute hysterics.

I like James A. I think he’s come across as a genuinely honest and lovely man who felt compromised in a position where he had to lie. Makes him more attractive in
mu eyes. And I do think he’s a clever an funny man.

DeftGoldHedgehog · Yesterday 06:26

I'm sure you have misunderstood his humour, he's very self-deprecating.

I agree. He is very dry and sarcastic and personally that is my kind of humour. Not for everyone but that’s ok.

but so not cool to call out physical attributes, totally undermines any credence in the argument to say someone has a lisp. I don’t think he does but so what? Can he help it?

I was going to say that I found him a but dull before but have no time for him after hearing his views on women.

What are his views on women? That podcast pp linked to was about actors having to keep their roles in Harry Potter secret.

Agreed, I don’t understand where I’m hearing the misogyny here?

He's quite a devout Christian and talks about enjoying going to Christian festivals. Having met a group of these men on the train last week I can see him fitting right in. They were oafish, loud and judgemental in a "we know the truth unlike these plebs" way. They behaved worse than your standard group of football fans.

Edited

Where have you got this from?
A quick Google search shows you are completely wrong.

This is the most bizarrely specific summation of someone you've never seen in anything 😆

Indeed, it’s a bit much to call someone a misogynist based on making a joke about being associated with JKR.

mrlistersgelfbride · Yesterday 08:20

He’s not a bad looking bloke but- we went to see his stand up a few years ago and he over ran massively by going on a rant that Mr Bean has stolen his girlfriend! . This is true- look it up!😅
So he’s a drama llama and a bit of a coward on Traitors- not attractive traits.

Sherararara · Yesterday 08:31

You do all realise he’s autistic? His divisive comedic style and sometimes “odd” behaviour - for example his outburst on taskmaster - derives a lot from this.

Catza · Yesterday 08:32

Sugarleaf · 28/10/2026 23:52

Oh interesting, you see I think the opposite. From his behaviour on Saturday Kitchen, Taskmaster and Traitors, I just don’t think he seems a very nice person at all. Rude, aloof, condescending. Like he things he’s above it all

Just to mention that James is autistic and autistic people often come across as rude and condescending. But he is also extremely intelligent and has very sharp humour. I am sure he is not everyone's cup of tea, who is? I don't find him attractive but I do love his comedy and sad that he decided to give it up some years ago.

MrsToothyBitch · Yesterday 08:34

He doesn't do it for me, sorry. I actually quite like some of his humour and I have quite enjoyed watching him in The Traitors as he's a smart, interesting player- I was with him on the shield thing.

However I find he can he pretty rude and I don't personally find him physically attractive although there's nothing wrong with him. He looks too much like the sort of sneaky little boy who would sit at the back of a classroom, smugly making comments to try and be edgy/funny and trying to make trouble- but not in an outright way like a bolder child, Bart Simpson style (also not attractive). And they cry when caught. He's a total Milhouse, in my opinion.

I've not noticed a lisp but mean to pick on him for that if he has one!

Stormyrose · Yesterday 08:49

I don’t find him smart or interesting at all, I think he’s a righr wet lettuce, but agree he’s like those sneaky little boys, millhouse is a good analogy

I do prefer the alpha male type and he’s not that, or even close, so he was never going fk do it for me,

Stickortwister · Yesterday 08:50

What a wierd thread.
I think hes attractive. I like his sense of humour.
I wont list all of his attractive attributes because that would be creepy....
The fact that there are popular thirst edits out there means im not alone.

However i wouldnt start a thread about how i dont find ( for example) micheal macintyre funny... or listing all the unattractive features of any other human being, because i can appreciate that thankfully we are all individuals with own own taste in people and humour. Thats not that hard to understand surely.

Soontobe60 · Yesterday 08:50

Isittimeformynapyet · Yesterday 08:04

He believes JKR is the devil incarnate because she wants women to have single sex spaces whilst he thinks it’s absolutely fine for men to go into those spaces if they’re claiming to be women (iIn a nutshell)

Are you saying that any behaviour is acceptable as long as the person is autistic?

EscCtrl · Yesterday 08:52

His being so fragile is unattractive to me. Stopping the filming because he felt anxious? And the jumping on the "autism" bandwagon.

CaptainMyCaptain · Yesterday 08:53

I voted YABU. I don't fancy him myself but you are being unfair. I find him very funny in a deadpan way so if you like obvious 'jokes' you won't get it.
