Friend bringing DD on lunch date.

My good friend is back from overseas for a week to see her family. She comes periodically. Her parents live close to me and this time she has brought her DD 16.
we arranged a while ago to spend the day together this week, I’m off work. We were looking at different things to do. With the weather we decided a nice lunch out in country and maybe a walk if dry. Then she tells me she is bringing her DD16.
I dotn know if this is just me but we all know we can’t say what we want or discuss what we want round our kids. I wouldn’t think of asking my kids (same age) on girls date.
is this just me or do other people find it strange ???
her DD hasn’t seen the grandparents for a while so wondering why she doesn’t want to spend time with them ?
maybe its me but it’s put a dampener on it.
AIBU ???

I think it was straight to the point. Your comment was nasty about the OP and the insinuation that her friend can't bear to be alone with her.

Your poiht was completely wrong. My point was that the OP repeatedly posted about money. Seven of her posts are copied and pasted below. It was the thing that stood out to me when reading her posts.

i know I feel like going to spend money having a lunch and can’t talk to my friend

I had suggested we go to a bar we know with an offer on

exactly !!! And spending money to do it as well

Feeling like this x it’s the cost as well as we said nice place to eat if I knew she was coming we could have gone cheaper x

discussing flights hotels prices etc

Eg we wanted to discuss our next girls holiday do we need a 16 year old knowing flight cost hotel cost

Money discussing our holiday plans it could be absolutely anything

You're the one picking up on money talk, to the extent that you've actually gone back through all of OP's posts, analysed them, and carefully cut and pasted anything about money into a nice neat little list - with bold bits - to prove your point 😂

There's no guarantee that just because young people are a similar age they'll get along/have things in common.

As I said, it was the thing that jumped out at me from the OP's posts.

You incorrecty misinterpreted my post and I therefore revisited the OP's posts to copy and paste why that jumped out at me. There was no analysis involved. It was blatant. There was no 'careful' cutting and pasting. Its not rocket science to the majority of us.

This conversation has clearly reached the limits of what you can contribute.

Hi friend.
I would love it if it were just you and me. Can DD stay with the GPs?
Much love, @BeTwinklyOliveNewt
