But they won't be because they will have enough sleep. They gained the hour last night.
If you are really panicking (and who knows why) put them to bed at 8.15 or 8 and then move it later over the week
But really no need

Ok I will do this today. But why move it later over the week, they will lose out on sleep

The lack of sleep. It will mess it all up and behaviour may change.

It really won't.

Wheredidcottoneyedjoecomefromandwheredidhego · 25/10/2026 19:29

No but it will be one less every night as it's all changed

It won't, they will readjust within a few days. Go to bed and get them up at normal time. Surely if you live in the UK you have experienced this twice a year for your whole life so far so not sure why you're so confused by it?

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 25/10/2026 19:32

FFS 🙄

Zanatdy · 25/10/2026 19:32

just do half hour - then back to normal tomorrow.

Sherararara · 25/10/2026 19:32

Do you all know we are all actually moving through time at the speed of light?

G1ngerbread · 25/10/2026 19:32

Are you winding us up? I literally don’t consider it at all. Just go about life as normal. Pretend it never happened, what do you think will happen?

Wheredidcottoneyedjoecomefromandwheredidhego · 25/10/2026 19:33

FieryA · 25/10/2026 19:28

8.30! Are you going to live the next 6 months an hour behind? Yes, it might take a couple of days to adjust, but you and the kids will be fine. Just follow the time you see on the clock 😄

But that time isn't really the real time is it

YES it is.

Hope that helps.

Technically it is, now we are back to GMT.

Wheredidcottoneyedjoecomefromandwheredidhego · 25/10/2026 19:16

So should they go to bed earlier?

It's all going to get messed up.

How old are you?
How old are the children?
Go to bed as usual. It's ok to allow flexibility.

Wheredidcottoneyedjoecomefromandwheredidhego · 25/10/2026 19:34

FTMJul26 · 25/10/2026 19:28

Just try and forget about the time change and put them to bed at their normal time and hope they wake up normally tomorrow. You seem to be stressing that they’ll loose sleep tonight by getting up at their usual time tomorrow but they won’t because that’ll be the usual number of hours they’ll have slept for, if anything was going to be messed up it was that they woke earlier than usual this morning and want to go to bed early tonight but if you keep them up until their usual time then you’re all caught up and back in routine

But is their usual time now or 8.30, because 8.30 is really 9.30

Lol, it is! Why are you getting so worked up over an hour?

G1ngerbread · 25/10/2026 19:35

It doesn’t matter. They’re still going to have the same amount of sleep. You’re being odd.

G1ngerbread · 25/10/2026 19:35

Also where have you been?

I’m over the moon because my 24mo’s bedtime is between 8:45-9pm so I’m looking forward to it being an hour earlier!

Wonder how long it will last though.

So you're putting them to bed an hour earlier? This is what I mean, but many saying put them to bed following the time today's clock says

To be honest OP time is just a concept that acts as a coordinate in the four-dimensional spacetime continuum and a marker of increasing entropy, while humans use it as a mental framework to sequence change, movement, and memory.

Anywherebuthere · 25/10/2026 19:36

How did you cope before today?

Ucouldntmakeitupdear · 25/10/2026 19:36

WTAF …this has to be a wind up !

HewasH2O · 25/10/2026 19:36

Waiting for the drip feed that the children are 14 & 16

blueyiscool · 25/10/2026 19:37

Is this your first year on earth?

Wheredidcottoneyedjoecomefromandwheredidhego · 25/10/2026 19:37

PrettyLittleRose · 25/10/2026 19:29

No. They go to bed at the same time as they always do. They need to get used to the clocks going back an hour. It will take about a week!

It could be an awful week though
