Going to bed?

SaveItForSomeoneElse · 25/10/2026 18:36

I'll be walking up the stairs and getting into bed. What else?

PollyBell · 25/10/2026 18:37

What is aboit tonight we don't already know?

campingwoes · 25/10/2026 18:37

Well my toddlers are trying to go to bed - I managed to stretch it out and they've gone down about 15 mins sooner than they would normally so not bad 🤷

Floopie · 25/10/2026 18:39

I'm always trying to move DD's bedtime forwards so I'm making the most of it!

PuppyMonkey · 25/10/2026 18:40

I might go up now. Grin

Wheredidcottoneyedjoecomefromandwheredidhego · 25/10/2026 18:51

With the clock change

And the kids

Just go to bed at normal time. Put children to bed at normal time.

That's what I always did when mine were young. No need for a song and dance about it.

Sirzy · 25/10/2026 18:56

I used to try my hardest to keep it as close to the normal bedtime as possible when clocks changed. With ds I found that better than gradual changes.

he is 17 now but given he was up at 4am this morning I think normal bedtime won’t be too much of an issue!

But haven't they lost an hour. I can't work it out

No, you gained an hour last night.

BlackCat14 · 25/10/2026 19:13

My toddler normally goes to bed at 7. Today he went at 6.30 (which to his body clock was 7.30 really) and tomorrow hope to stretch him until 7 and then we’ll be back to normal. I’ll probably go myself a little earlier than usual, but not much!

What does that mean though? Should they go to bed later then and why am I tireder today

So should they go to bed earlier?

It's all going to get messed up.

That assumes they understood to sleep an hour more!

But then they are losing an hour and it will all be messed up.

Mine didn't, I don't think. Does anyone else find it baffling

OP posts:
Topseyt123 · 25/10/2026 19:20

It's not going to get messed up.

Just put them to bed at the normal time. Say nothing about it. That's what I always used to do and no issues. They are adults now but when they were children they honestly didn't even notice.

Don't make a big thing about it. You and they even gained an hour late last night.

Why are you overthinking it?

JoleneJoleneJoleneJoleneJolene · 25/10/2026 19:22

It's an hour. Keep your hair on

Smartiepants79 · 25/10/2026 19:23

Losing an hour of what??? It’s not that hard. Just put them to bed as close to their normal bedtime as possible and that will be that. What time did they wake this morning?

Ifeeltheneedtheneedforcoffee · 25/10/2026 19:23

There's nothing to "mess up". Everyone just go to bed at your normal bedtime.
The children may fall asleep quicker (if your lucky) and may get up earlier tomorrow but any day can be like that!

Because now it's 7.30, but is it really 8.30?
My Dc normally goes to bed at 8.30. If I wait until 8.30 now, it will really be 9.30 and they'll be exhausted in the morning
