To be a bit miffed at my friend’s idea of a ‘takeaway night’ tomorrow

My friend is kindly hosting a night for me and two others, a girly catch up.

When suggested we agreed on getting a takeaway and consensus from earlier this week was to get an Indian, and we earmarked the specific takeaway we’d order from.

My friend hosting has messaged to say she has picked up a ‘deal‘ from the supermarket this afternoon so she has got some ready meal curries and sides and said we can sort the money out on the night.

First world problem I know, but a supermarket ready meal doesn’t really hit the spot compared to a proper Indian takeaway so I feel a bit annoyed! She didn’t check with us before.

If I’d promised a takeaway then went ahead without discussion and got everyone some ready meal slop (and asked for payment for the privilege), then I’d fully expect to get some stick!

You are mocking her behind her back.

Say it to her face. Being disappointed that she has done this not U so that’s what I’ve voted. But how you have tackled it is awful.

I’m home now, the takeaway was lovely. My friend had some left overs after she scoffed her ready meal and naan. So no harm done!

Have you been open about laughing at her behind her back? Shown her the group chat that she is not part of?

It depends where from. M and S is probably better than some takeaways.

No

I went out for breakfast this morning and I was looking forward to nice food and a catch up with my friend.

According to some people on this thread I should have just invited my friend over and handed her a bowl of cornflakes instead.

And I had been your friend - I would have assumed that for some reason you wanted to serve this - whether finances or something had come up making prepping anything different not possible or that she’d been ill. I’d have accepted that bowl of cereal and cup of tea and settled down for a catch up with a friend.

I would not howl with laughter about it behind your back.
