To find it worrying what the BBC chooses not to report?

You wouldn't know it, if you got your news from the BBC, that there's been a pro-pal march through London today. 6 marchers were arrested and the Battle of Britain memorial was damaged.
Nothing on the BBC website. Nothing on News at 10.
Is it only me that finds this disturbing?

The BBC have been biased and selective in their reporting for years.

But then hopefully no one only gets their news from one source anymore.

TinyBlueDent · Yesterday 22:43

There have been pro-Pal marches for months so that's not really news any more. And only 6 people arrested is a bit of a non-event.

Oh yes, get your news from YouTube and GB News! Much better sources 🙄

It’s not Pal, it’s Palestine. No need to reduce their identity.

I used to work at The BBC, and had access to the overnight complaints logs - about half complained they were too right wing, and half complained they were too left wing.

Can’t win

Martymcfly24 · Yesterday 22:46

What damage was caused to the memorial?

millymollymoomoo · Yesterday 22:46

The bbc is a leftist biased propaganda machine. Full of bs and lies

I can see what you mean....

millymollymoomoo · Yesterday 22:48

There’s no such thing as Palestinian identity / it was made up by yasser Arafat - an Egyptian . Palestine is Jordan/syrian/lebanon Arabs

a) as said above, it was reported. b) TBF, it was only about 100 people. As a Jewish person, even one very opposed to Israel's actions, I think it was a dick move marching on that day, but I don't think it necessarily merits national coverage.

Baldrapunzel · Yesterday 22:50

There's been so many of these threads over the last few days. Almost as if there's a concerted attack on the BBC 🤨

Oneearringlost · Yesterday 22:50

I heard it on the news at 10 on R4.

PollyBell · Yesterday 23:08

How can any news report eveything that happens, mind you people love believing and creating conspiracy theories and dress it up as concern so what is their agenda?

mumumental · Yesterday 23:09

I don’t trust those endlessly criticising the BBC.

dustabsorber · Yesterday 23:17

Says it all about them, damaging a memorial to mean and women who sacrificed their lives fighting fascism

ShakyBake · Yesterday 23:22

I was just saying to someone earlier the bbc seems to get more and more subjective about which that they chose to report..
I was once a big fan in the days of inform, educate and entertain. It's gone the complete opposite now and clearly has a left wing agenda (if not the organisation itself then definitely the presenters). Aside from the the quality where they have overspread in all area is shocking

Bikenutz · Yesterday 23:22

Oneearringlost · Yesterday 22:50

So it has been reported by the BBC.

But even it it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be evidence of bias. There are marches and demonstrations in London, especially near Parliament, every single week. The majority don’t make the news.

That's a leap isn't it, typical too I think. Of not the BBC then gbnews and facebook!

Plenty of countries have free news, Japan (Nhk World), France (France 24), even BBC World News which used to be on Astra 1 was better than the news feed for the UK.

YANBU. Have they covered the Hamas bodyguard who got asylum here yet?

Other people may see it as a right wing propaganda machine, why else would a party with only a few MPs get more airtime than the lib dems? It could be argued that they've been promoting Farage for years

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · Yesterday 23:29

Yanbu.

Yet on the thread about BBC last week posters like me were quizzed on what bbc's supposed "agenda" is...

I said it before I'll say it again

I think the thing that really pisses me off about bbc news is that an era of fake news and fox network&friends that had a huge HUGE opp to be a globally renouned news outlet that set the gold standard in reported news. A trusted, impartial and accurate news source people could go to and sift through the garbage pushed out designed to polarise then monetise societal division.

But noooooo they just couldnt help themselves.... And so they started pushing their agendas via their news.
And now the brand is just fucked and in slow irreparable decline.

Slow hands clap - good job guys.

Edited

What identity the ones of the protesters because they don't represent anyone in Gaza. They represent the far left views and extreme Islamists. Neither of those two work in the best interests of the women and children of Gaza. They have literally destroyed their lives and continue to call for more violence at every opportunity they get.

Denim4ever · Yesterday 23:31

BBC leftish? Definitely not and the standards are going down, down, down year on year. The newsreader 2 days ago pronounced Adidas 'add dee das' not 'adi das' - we are not living in the USA.
