You wouldn't know it, if you got your news from the BBC, that there's been a pro-pal march through London today. 6 marchers were arrested and the Battle of Britain memorial was damaged.
Nothing on the BBC website. Nothing on News at 10.
Is it only me that finds this disturbing?

It's not on the news at 10 on TV because it's not that interesting or significant a story.

There was a fairly small march in London with 19 arrests for criminal damage, failure to remove face masks and banned signs . No violence, no rioting, finished on time.
One arrest for making threats to kill .
Bigger march in Edinburgh at the same time.

Meanwhile, Trump has over turned sanctions on Putin, Ukraine was hit with a wave of missile attacks, the bond market looks concerning, the Houthis managed to fire a missile at Riyadh international airport so that's really escalating.

And that fella got killed by a tiger in Yorkshire which while it doesn't have great consequences beyond his family and the staff there, is unusual and interesting enough to make the news.

Small march in London on issue that bores most of the public and marches on which happens all the time is simply not worthy of being on the 20 minutes or so of news at ten - allowing then for time for sport, weather etc.

It was the mass murders by the Iranian regime that got me, The BBC regularly reported on Gaza whilst claiming they can’t get access and absolute silence on protesters being gunned down in the streets in Iran tens of thousands of brave people in just a few days.

That is nonsense.

The BBC did some really good reporting on a country that is extremely hard to report on.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0r4957rq8ro

They were recognised by academics and experts as having done some really important, verifiable, carefully researched work on the hundreds killed in Iran.
https://reutersinstitute.politics.ox.ac.uk/news/how-bbc-experts-confirmed-hundreds-killed-irans-protest-crackdown-despite-internet-blackout

A collage of a protester on the streets of Tehran, Iran in black and white but it is clear there is a fire burning behind them. On the right-hand side of the image leaked photos are presented in a gridded face wall showing some of the 392 faces sent to...

Leaked photos show hundreds killed in Iran's brutal crackdown

The images from one mortuary in Tehran were shown to families who went to identify their loved ones.

The bbc is a leftist biased propaganda machine. Full of bs and lies

No, the BBC is definitely right of centre. IT is only because the press is predominantly very right wing that people thin the BBC is left-leaning.

mugglewump · 11/10/2026 11:40

And it's funny how the 'terror attack' on the army base and not been clarified as a group of diesel thieves, even though the images of them and their vans clearly show the barrels and other thieving equipment. It suits their rhetoric not to reveal the true, and far more trivial, nature of the crime.

Under the Contempt of Court Act 1981, once proceedings are active (starting from an arrest, warrant, or charge), the media cannot publish anything that creates a substantial risk of seriously impeding or prejudicing a fair trial.

The media can't "clarify" that it was a diesel theft until the police or CPS either issue a statement to that effect or there is a court hearing.
If and when the men arrested appear in court charged with diesel theft or any other crime, that can be reported on.

I don’t trust those endlessly criticising the BBC.

Same.

Oh yes, get your news from YouTube and GB News! Much better sources 🙄

Or the BBC and The Guardian.

Given Israel's deliberate murder of journalists to deter them from reporting the genocide, your use of the word ‘claiming’ there is ironic.

🤣

People see what you want to see. It is your bias, not the BBC's.

I used to work at The BBC, and had access to the overnight complaints logs - about half complained they were too right wing, and half complained they were too left wing.

Can’t win

Yep, this is what I hear most often. This massively right leaning BBC is also apparently in the pay of the uber left SNP in Scotland if you believe everything you hear.

I’m not a frequent visitor to London but whenever I do visit, there is some kind of protest or another, I’ve sat in many a taxi in the traffic chaos. Either I’m unlucky in my choices of when to go, or there is always a protest on in London.

I’d call it a war against terrorism in a densely populated environment.
Blame Hamas for starting it and their cowardly tactics.

The IDF have (reportedly) dropped 200,000 tons of bombs on Gaza.
Surprisingly few deaths considering that the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was equivalent to only only 15,000 tons, which alone killed 80,000 people.
The IDF have gone out of their way to minimize casualties, quite the opposite of Hamas.

I also used to work on the BBC complaints line and agree with this. It is impossible to please every viewer and listener.

Theyreeatingthedogs · 11/10/2026 13:45

The BBC is a unionist, right wing organisation that panders to Farage and his ilk (how many times has he been on Question Time?). Before Farage they were pro-Tory!!!

OK, I didn't listen to R4, I just watched it on TV and checked their webpage. And I still find it odd that it wasn't covered on the TV.
Perhaps we all just have to get used to Pro Pal marches and the ensuing damage.

So, it sounds like the BBC did report on it. Anyway, even if they didn't, how would that stop the marches?

Agree

Just your friendly reminder that just because an influencer posted it on social media does not make it true .

The population of the Gaza Strip has decreased by roughly 6% to 10% since late 2023, dropping from an estimated pre-war total of about 2.2 million down to approximately 2.1 million to 2.13 million people.

BBC leftish? Definitely not and the standards are going down, down, down year on year. The newsreader 2 days ago pronounced Adidas 'add dee das' not 'adi das' - we are not living in the USA.

It bonkers left wing LOL
