After 60 years on this planet I've discovered something monumental about toast!

If you leave it cool for 30 seconds and then put the butter on it tastes better cos the butter doesn't melt and you can actually taste the butter!
It's probably healthier as well cos you need less butter.
Mind blown!

YABU - Toast with melted butter is yummy

YANBU - OMG : Get OP a knighthood for services to toast

@UserName00747 - I voted YABU because the thought of eating butter that isn’t melted is utterly vile to me. Having said that people should be able to eat how they like it so congratulations on your discovery 😁

Oh god, before I went on MJ and was a total law unto myself we’d go through 4 packs of butter a week, with such liberal spreading on my sandwiches and baguette and butter and cheese at the weekends I now realise I was responsible for probably 2 of those packs a week! I now tend to order 2 a week.
we do bake a lot and cook everything homemade so go through it, sometimes we have to buy more and occasionally I remember to plan in advance for specific baking and order 4 again on the shop but butter was one of my main food groups!!

Has to be well done with butter slightly melted, and a bit of marmite or jam, and I dip the crusts in my coffee

I've been doing this since I fell back in love with butter in 2009 when I read an article in the mail about how it's not as bad for you as margerine

Apparently Nigella butters the hot toast, waits for it to melt and cool, and then butters it again.

Have done this but I am a huge butter fan, add extra to crumpets, loads in mash jacket potatoes. I hate food threads i am starving now.
