Conversation about drunk shopping and I mentioned that I once ordered racing sprouts and a sudoku rubiks cube just before Xmas about 18 years ago!

DD is adamant that no one does stuff like that. I need you to help me prove her wrong!

As far as I can remember, I've only made one drunk purchase, but I've never admitted it to anyone until now. I was watching very late night TV on a Sat night after a few lone drinkies and saw an amazing piece of kit being advertised - a Brickie! When you're building walls it keeps the line straight without having to constantly check with spirit levels etc. How useful, I thought, for the time when I build my very first wall. That was at least 25 years ago, and I've never built a wall yet.

Half way down the second bottle of Malbec I bought a £4 grand Jag on ebay 150 miles away. I actually went through with it and made a profit when I sold it 5 years later

I spent £80 once on a solid silver ring. When it arrived it was so small it didn’t even fit my pinky. And it was non returnable too.

I am teetotal now thank God

Grandfather clock as a Christmas present for DM (she had actually said that she'd really like one)

My friend and I nearly bought an fancy light up Christmas tree at 2am from a 24 hour Tesco. This is back in the day when the tech was a bit more novel and we abandoned it at the check out when we discovered it cost £250.

Just come home after 1.5 pints so not exactly pissed but on way home I saw a box of biscuits in M&S with St Michael’s written on it and bought it because it made me feel nostalgic.

@Nofeckingway the celebrating actually began very civilised with my uni mate cooking us an Irish fry up but then it devolved very quickly and the last thing I actually remember was saying “oh nah I don’t need a full lunch I’ll just have chips” (trying to save money) and next thing I know it’s the next day and my nips have bars through them 😭.

My friend booked a week intensive driving lessons. She has passed her test and been driving 20 years.

And this was pre-internet, I went into the shop after Christmas drinks in the office, saw the clock and thought what a damned fine idea it would be to buy that for DM for Christmas.

PS She loved it. It went with her when she emigrated to Australia and came back to me after she died.

Oh me too! I ordered what I thought was a lovely little knitted mouse in clothes. It came as loose wool and a QR code to a crochet pattern. I can't crochet.

(I also don't know how to access QR codes)

Open your phone camera and point it at the QR code. Click the yellow link that appears on your screen. Done.

I can't say any were specifically bad, but during lockdown there were a few Amazon deliveries where I was like "WTF is this?" They were mostly sewing supplies as I took up sewing during lock down - I obviously needed that walking foot, every zip length possible and 2 metres of stabilizer *spoiler alert - never used the walking foot, still have gazillions of zips and plenty of stabilizer left 🤣🤣

We used to have a Lidl next to us and at the time we frequented a restaurant close to it. We'd go to this Lidl after a meal and a few drinks and a lot of weird and wonderful things found their way home with us... A side of salmon, a cuddly hedgehog, another cuddly hedgehog with only three feet as it was obviously disabled, numerous ridiculous cuddly toys, random foreign food, random things in general...

On morphine after surviving peritonitis. Adopted four gibbons. Paid up for the full year. Couldn't remember a thing about it until I received an adoption pack with a thank you card from Speedy, Michael, Gary and Peppy.

I still have Gary!

Soduko rubicks cube? That sounds amazing! I’m off to google and quite possibly order it, stone cold sober…!

I bought an 8 month old Dalmatian completely blackout drunk. Didn’t remember until the lady messaged me collection arrangements & the life drained completely from my face “oh sh*t I’ve bought a dog” Felt bad for the lady to back out. 7 years later and Thousands of pounds lighter in insurance premium's and his vet care plan and excessively expensive food. it’s all worked out well.

My now DH during the Beast from the East. We were snowed in for days and much wine was consumed. One day, a huge Amazon purchase turned up. Neither of us knew what it was, and when we opened it, it was a snowboard. He had recollection of ordering it, but to be fair, we did take it to the local park for a couple of days! It could be worse - a mate of mine drunk bid on a Porsche in Essex, over 200 miles away, and had to catch the train the next day while hungover to collect it.

How can you be snowed in but also have Amazon deliveries?

We really need the laughing emoji back!

It doesn't feel right just Agreeing with someone when they've written something you laugh out loud to! Sometimes I want to send them a bunch of flowers to say I REALLY liked their comment, but it's meant to mean Support which doesn't fit.

My friend ordered a massive fridge to keep her wine cold when she was crafting in the craft room 😂

Is it just me who doesnt think this is funny actually its sad?

Id say anyone who is buying stuff and then surprised by the package that arrives has a lonely drink problem. Sorry

Don’t be ridiculous. Sometimes (healthy) people get drunk and do daft things.

Whilst drunk at a day festival got chatting to a random girl eho had just got back from Ibiza. I had just got back from solo Turkey trip but thought it was a great idea to go to ibiza for few days! Had a brilliant time for my birthday solo again but was great as I missed some awful august bank holiday downpours that would've made me stay in. My tan was amazing that summer must admit ! Lol

Admirable forward planning! I buy plenty of nonsense using this kind of logic when sober…

I didnt, but my mates woke up in Belfast after a Friday session. It was 85 or 6, one mate was from Belfast and extolling the joys to be had in his home city. I almost went, but remembered that I was married, I hadn't run this by husband, who was a liberal guy, but might be pissed off by a morning call to say id just got off the ferry. Oh and I was down to my last fiver. Apparently it was epic, if a little scary at times.

Temu was the worst invention for drunk me. I recent bought some bead bauble kit things and they came with a fuck ton of beads, some wire and no pattern or picture so 🤷🏼‍♀️

What's terrible about temu was that it took so long to deliver that you forgot what you bought. It is kinda fun to unbox though, feels like Christmas.

A unicycle and a lightsaber. Not on the same night 🤦‍♀️
