Conversation about drunk shopping and I mentioned that I once ordered racing sprouts and a sudoku rubiks cube just before Xmas about 18 years ago!

DD is adamant that no one does stuff like that. I need you to help me prove her wrong!

A lot of it yes, bodywork in primer, restored the leaf springs, diff etc, bought new tyres and an engine ready to go in it but not enough to get it running and on the road.

Edited

Impressive, though! Hope you managed to sell it on to another drunk.

After a few drinks, I Upgraded our long haul flights to business class from economy! Expensive but lovely.

Imbibed and on the way home stopped at a 24 hour grocery store, and spent a day's pay on desserts

A sewing machine, while having a lot of wine while watching Sewing Bee. Never once used it.

I did the same inspired by sewing bee when I can’t even stitch a handkerchief. I wasn’t drunk though.

I once had an epic drunk shopping spree where I bought every single Johnny Depp movie on DVD or Bluray (many of them secondhand at least). It was multiple purchases across a few sites. They kept on arriving for weeks afterwards. 🤣

I used to be a massive Johnny Depp fan too, years ago.

Oh me too! I ordered what I thought was a lovely little knitted mouse in clothes. It came as loose wool and a QR code to a crochet pattern. I can't crochet.

(I also don't know how to access QR codes)

I thought that website is a scam.

Guilty. Nearly £500 me and my husband, drunk in a DM store

Netaporter · Yesterday 03:01

Lockdown saw me spend £20 on a single slice of cake (it was a Bertha from get baked) delicious but still..

Drunken competition entries to win tickets to gigs I thought DD would like have been quite successful- I won two tickets to see Ed Sheeran in a tiny gig in London a few years ago and this year I won two tickets to see Harry Styles.

I forgot I bought a pair of tickets in a box to see Jason Manford (random) and spent ages trying to work out which friend to thank for them.

Duds have included a terrible dress from Net-a-porter which was wordle green in colour and made me look like a massive Mrs Jolly Green Giant.

Drunk bought a trip to Mexico and on another occasion, a barrel of whisky.

Did you actually get the whisky, or was it an 'investment'?

A dog dna test kit

It is stored in a warehouse somewhere in Scotland.

I did vaguely recall thinking I'd buy it as an investment but, explaining that to DH the next day and realising how little I know about that type of investment, storage fees, bottling fees etc means I won't be doing that again!

I once order a load of fake tan. Ended up throwing it away earlier this year when I had a clear out.
I also ordered my secret Santa presents from Temu. What a pile of crap. I ended up re buying something much better in person from a ‘real shop.’

Didn't purchase it I suppose , but in my 20s woke up after a daytime drinking session to find that I had got my ears pierced . No memory of it at all . Did wonder why the piercer didn't notice but my friends said I was perfectly lucid at the time.

Years ago I had a teenage friend who got a tattoo whilst very drunk. She woke up wondering why her back/shoulder was aching to see a tattoo!
She said not only was she drunk, but her friend who was with her was drunk, plus the tattoo artist gave her friend some money and told her to buy all 3 of them a pint from the pub across the street! He then proceeded to do the tattoo whilst drinking the beer!
She kept the tattoo hidden from her parents for years.

A bagel guillotine chopper thing. Randomly useful, though. Too-thing bagel slices burn in the toaster.

Someone i know bought seven different golf bags when drunk one night!

My Grandma made a hangover purchase if that counts !

My had been to a friends one evening and she had quite a few Baileys or Lemon Liquors, when I dropped her off she did NOT do a straight line walk up the drive 🤣. The next day she had to go on the tram to buy paint for her lounge. She bought the wrong colour but didn't realise until she was home and the painter was coming the next day so had no time to return it.

In her words 'oh well it will just have to stay that way'.

That lounge was the wrong colour for years. 🤣

Goldengirl123 · Yesterday 07:59

Lots of tins of haggis 😅. I don’t drink as much now but when I used to, it would be like Christmas every day wondering what the postman was bringing 🤦‍♀️

blackcatlove · Yesterday 08:01

Lifelover16 · Yesterday 00:36

Did you ever use it?

About twice. Bit like paddle boards that were bought while slightly drunk too.

Goldengirl123 · Yesterday 08:07

Some of these comments are hilarious. I agree with your daughter saying that middle aged women shouldn’t be left alone with wine and a bank card. I woke up one day a few weeks ago and told my husband I had booked a cruise to Croatia as I knew he wanted to go there. When I checked, we board and disembark in Croatia and that’s it. We won’t see it at all. We are going next April

Not drunk, but there was a hazy period when I tested positive for Covid around the end of a month, when I had just been paid

I can remember ordering groceries from a supermarket but then things get weird

I created a new Ebay account and used the 'Buy it Now' option instead of bidding And ordered multiples of the sale thing

Hit up London Transport Museum shop, again created an account, bought stuff and put hundreds of ££££ worth of goods on my wish list

Went on Etsy and bought posters and other goods

I woke up a day or so later and logged on to my computer to see dozens and dozens of acknowledgment emails and a number of 'Sorry we missed you' cards from a variety of delivery companies

It took days to retrieve my stuff from the neighbours

ExperiencedTeacher · Yesterday 08:19

Not as crazy as some of these but I’m prone to booking tickets to theatre and sports events when drunk. I stop caring about how expensive they are when a few drinks in!
