Conversation about drunk shopping and I mentioned that I once ordered racing sprouts and a sudoku rubiks cube just before Xmas about 18 years ago!

DD is adamant that no one does stuff like that. I need you to help me prove her wrong!

I’ve been known to randomly book holidays 🤦‍♀️ honestly I’m a nightmare.

Tarkan · 09/10/2026 20:32

I once had an epic drunk shopping spree where I bought every single Johnny Depp movie on DVD or Bluray (many of them secondhand at least). It was multiple purchases across a few sites. They kept on arriving for weeks afterwards. 🤣

SmallDFartyCarNRG · 09/10/2026 20:32

I have bought "hilarious" T shirts when drunk. Actually I still do that since I stopped drinking (last one was You Can Have Him Jolene).

Last one that went down like shit on a shoe was matching Christmas PJ's. My dad was very unimpressed.

They sound like the same ones my neighbour bought @PyongyangKipperbang They were indeed fucking hideous.

Oh god.....I NEED these in my life.
They are hilarious!

I'm tee-total so I've never done drunk purchases, but once after an outpatient surgery, still loopy on the anesthetic, I tried to buy a replacement for the fidget spinner I'd accidentally left behind.

I ended up confused a couple of days later when I giant box arrived and inside was about 30 different fidget toys and spinners and similar items.

I have them all in an old celebrations chocolate tub now and grab a different one each time I'm going somewhere stressful.

Years ago I bought socks for my cat, I can't even remember what my thought process was when I did it. My cat didn't appreciate the gesture anyway.

WaltzingWaters · 09/10/2026 20:35

Jonas Brothers tickets about 19 years ago!

Not drunk, but I take zoplicone for insomnia and have bought some utter shit whilst waiting for it to kick in.

Also, I once bought a wedding dress by mistake. I know that sounds ridiculous but it was going for £14 and I felt sorry for them and put in a bid of £20 in to boost it, then forgot about it until I realised I'd 'won' the auction on Ebay. I paid £18 for a full length proper traditional wedding dress.

I've also had several things that are nowhere near the size I expected them to be because I tend to look at the picture. I once bought my friend a 'disappointing notebook' for Christmas because I'd assumed it was A5 size and when it came it was like a small book of matches..

I also ordered 6 different pairs of poppy earrings for Remembrance Day and didn't like any of them when they came.

The warning leaflet should read "Step away from the internet once you have taken your tablet."

It might also add: "Those of you who are older and new to taking this medication should be doubly cautious."

A church organ that was being removed from a church during a demolition job. I was in a one bed flat at the time.

And can’t play the organ.

Puddledaf · 09/10/2026 20:38

A 30k caravan 🤡

HollywoodTease · 09/10/2026 20:39

I bought a camper van on eBay 😳

A very old (g-reg) one that was surprisingly sound for what I paid (£1100) and gave us 4 good years of holidays and festivals until I could afford to get a bigger, better one.....

PyongyangKipperbang · 09/10/2026 20:39

I am feeling so much better now given the eye watering amounts being spent!!!

I think my racing sprouts shopping spree was about £20!

And in other news, DD has a) admitted defeat and b) decided to start a campaign to stop middle aged women being allowed wine and a credit card at the same time!

Agree Temu is a nightmare when tipsy - I once got a load of rings that didn't fit because I had been spinning a wheel or something and had to order each time to get the "free gift". I don't usually gamble either so goodness knows why the flashing lights lured me that time. They all came in one big bag of shame too.

Oh god, you've reminded me about the dog nail varnish. Poor sod.

I had to google racing sprouts and the result was actually as absurd as I'd imagined. Though I'd wondered about bean sprouts and thought of Brussels ones later. Never heard of them. Hilarious drunk purchase though.

They were actually great fun on Xmas day, we set up a course after dinner, so I recommend them! The sudoku cube spent best part of ten years in its packaging before it was sent to the charity shop!

€200 on the Lego Home Alone house

I was drunk at a pub on a Friday night. I'd had a stressful week, and so I booked a flight and hotel to Budapest that left from Luton at 9am the next morning. Went on my own, had a great 24hrs of sightseeing, and then came home on Sunday 😌

I've also ordered a big Le Creuset coquette after a few glasses of wine. In reality I should have bought the biggest one available!

As someone who spent well over £2k on Lego (thank you tax rebate) during the first lockdown, all I can say is "Is that all?!"

I once woke up and saw I'd spent £50 I couldn't account for. I'd randomly sent it to someone who found some homeless rabbits in L.A. and had made an go fund me.
At least it went to a good cause 🐰

Owhatfuckeryisthis · 09/10/2026 21:44

Not drunk, but a wee bit out of it on pain medication for potentially broken rib. Came back from Fenwicks(I was at the hospital) with a full face of high end slap, a bag of ridiculously expensive makeup and Aveda hair stuff(which did not suit me). I may have also gone to Ann Summers.😳

FalconHonour33 · 09/10/2026 21:54

Not me, but a uni friend once went on a bar crawl and came back with a picture of a prawn 🦐...
