Conversation about drunk shopping and I mentioned that I once ordered racing sprouts and a sudoku rubiks cube just before Xmas about 18 years ago!

DD is adamant that no one does stuff like that. I need you to help me prove her wrong!

I paid £20 towards the funeral of a DJ/MC American guy I went to see at some guest nights in a club years ago. He never really made it big and his children were asking for donations to help pay for his funeral from people who loved his music. It made me happy to help and sad that it was needed.

I'm giggling away about some of these. A unicycle and a light sabre?

The worst I've ever done was accidentally order a catering-sized jar of pitted olives from Waitrose, and I wasn't even drunk at the time.

After a few glasses of wine, I can get all mushy and start donating to random causes. Last week I discovered I gave a tenner to a crocodile sanctuary in Florida. No idea why.

That’s fabulous virtue signalling. I’m genuinely admiring your style.

On morphine after surviving peritonitis. Adopted four gibbons. Paid up for the full year. Couldn't remember a thing about it until I received an adoption pack with a thank you card from Speedy, Michael, Gary and Peppy.

I still have Gary!

Do you have a gibbon-walker for when you’re out or on hols?

How can you be snowed in but also have Amazon deliveries?

Because we could work from home, and government and our employers’ advice was to do so, but Amazon drivers didn’t have that luxury? 🤷‍♀️

The warning leaflet should read "Step away from the internet once you have taken your tablet."

It might also add: "Those of you who are older and new to taking this medication should be doubly cautious."

Those tablets are so strange! I took one and while waiting for it to take effect, I thought I'd try some of the new tub of Biscoff ice cream I'd bought. I popped the tub next to me to soften up a little, and the next thing I know, it's 4am and I've woken up to an empty tub! I didn't even remember the first bite, let alone eating the entire tub! I was so confused that I was checking everywhere to see if it had simply melted and spilled somewhere, but no, I had eaten it all, and had zero recollection!

Now, if I ever need to take sleeping tablets, I brush my teeth beforehand, so I'm not tempted!

A baby lop eared rabbit from some kids at the side of a road in the Peak District.
I wasn't driving! But not a fantastic start to responsible pet ownership.
We did have her as a house pet for about 7 years so even though it turned out she probably shouldn't have been sold that young, she seemed pretty content. We passed her on eventually to a lady with lots of rabbits, more room and no toddlers.

Charity auction in a pub. Got over excited ( drunk) and came home with a mountain bike. I hate cycling.

A friend/colleague of DH’s bought a small boat on eBay whilst drunk when in their early 20’s.

an ex’s housemate did the same when we were at university, I wonder if it’s the same person!!!

A solo trip to Mexico, and a few years later, a solo trip to Argentina (well, just the plane tickets). Sober me really wanted to do it but was too scared, but after a few glasses of wine I just decided fxxk it and booked. Best decision I ever made.

I am feeling so much better now given the eye watering amounts being spent!!!

I think my racing sprouts shopping spree was about £20!

Excuse my ignorance but what are racing sprouts?

Probably about the same time ago in the same period i ordered a guinea pig house and a reebok treadmill!

And did you have, or get a guinea pig???

Earlier this evening, I drank a couple of large glasses of wine in close succession before i'd eaten dinner (so was a bit tipsy) and ended up spending over £300 on a leather jacket. All evening I've been thinking: wtf did i do that for?!⁸

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · Today 01:35

I once told a man in a pub I would take 2 goats he was trying to rehome! I gave him my address and everything! I was shitting myself the next day, as DH was not happy at the prospect of 2 goats showing up at our door!
Thankfully he was a no show
