Facebook holiday bores.

What do you think of people who are suffering from main character syndrome when they are on holiday.
The everyday updates on what they are doing and 53 photos. 53.

Taking the phone in the sea and doing a selfie so we can see what they look like in the sea.

It's like some people can't relax anymore unless they are broadcasting every day for validation.

I like seeing holiday photos on Facebook. It’s nice to see proper wholesome photos from people I know, rather than stupid things on Instagram from influencers.
Maybe you should avoid social media if you don’t like it.

Why do they assume everyone is interested in every move they make?
Can't they enjoy their holidays without posting 53 pictures every day? How can they enjoy when they are thinking of the next FB post?

You really have to ask the question why?
Why do they think they are so important that people want to see their daily lives?

Why does this offend you so much?? Just block them or scroll past. People can post what they want, they don’t need your permission.

And several people have given you very reasonable suggestions for why people would do this.

I absolutely love looking at people's holiday photos!! Travel is my passion though. I also enjoy seeing my friends happy and doing nice things ☺️

I upload at the end of every day on holiday and depending where we are this could easily be 50+ photos a day! 10 seconds a photo this could easily be a whole 8minutes....not exactly stopping me enjoying the holiday!! And have so many amazing memories to enjoy looking at.

I had a friend, childfree, large disposable income as both she and her partner earned a lot. She had a friend from another social circle who told her it was insensitive to post about her multiple annual holidays. Some she took solo, others were with her partner . They all looked like she was having a brilliant time.

She said to this friend : oh that’s funny, no one told anyone not to post their valentines gift pics when I was single or not to post their baby pics when so and so had fertility issues.

Her “friend” shut up and never commented again.

TDLR: let people post what they love!

Touch of the green eyed monster there I think

If you don't like weeing people's joy just I follow them it's not hard

Timeforachange26 · 11/10/2026 14:19

It's really not hard to ignore stuff on Facebook. I scroll past anything I'm not interested in. Talk of kids for example yawn

Oh yeah, I get so sick of seeing 'Jayden has done so well this week at school' with the handwritten certificate from a teacher saying 'Jayden showed a big interest in class in Geography today, he has a gold star, well done Jayden, you're a good boy.' With a photo of Jayden holding the certificate, so mum can take a photograph and stick it on Facebook.

One woman posts photos constantly of her son playing football (he is 13,) and the whole family goes to his football practice 3 evenings a week. Spending an hour and a half just sitting on the sidelines. The poor little sister 'Sofie' is photographed sitting on the damp grass with a bottle of Pepsi and a straw, with mum saying 'Sofie is having so much fun while her brother is doing his football training...' Errrrr, no luv, Sofie is NOT having fun. She is fucked off to the eyeballs with being dragged out 3 nights a week to Arron's shitty football practice, and having to sit outside and wait until he's done.

Some people i know post every day

soooo boring. Nobody needs to see your evey move

why?

i think, like you say: main character syndrome

You clearly want to follow them even though you find it boring.

Branleuse · 11/10/2026 15:11

Why the fuck are so many people following people on social media that they clearly despise?
It's so two faced. Just take yourself out of the conversation and unfollow them or unfriend them. Do everyone a favour.

Better lol. Whose to say I don't have holidays. Maybe Im able to go about my life without the need to broadcast everything I do.

I don't assume that other people want to read what I'm doing all the time. We managed our lived before social media.

Less is more.

I personally don't give a fuck what you do on holiday, but I'd assume if you have friends then they would probably be interested somewhat in your life and what fun things you get up to.

Tell them face to face .

Dosent mean we despise them. Just think it's sad all the things they keep posting on social media.

What should people post on Facebook?

That's such a weird take.

So many people have given so many reasons for posting on Facebook in this thread, but you seem to be stuck on the idea that they are curating exhibits just for you.

Now. THAT is sad.
