Do you include rape in violet crime? I do. And the number is a lot higher than 3-5% of men. Quite clearly.

Biggest pile of utter bullshit I've ever heard. Of all my friends and family members who have been variously raped, assaulted, harassed and stalked, only one even ever had a conversation with the police. One of the few male victims I know.

A good friend of mine is a doctor. She worked in a psychiatric ward for prisoners / criminals who had committed sever sexual crimes.

One of the most frightening things I've ever heard was when she told me about one of these men (they were all men). She knew his history, his horrific crimes against women (murder, rape, torture that kind of thing). She knew the facts of his case. She said he was charming, charismatic and funny. even though she knew his crimes, she saw those attributes (and hated that). Horrific actually.

Alongside the unreported, we have the reported that doesn't go anywhere as not enough evidence.

Men as species are far potentially dangerous than women. If they were a pet, we wouldnt be allowed to keep them. But it's also usually men who rescue others (women and men and children) from other men (see the plane hijacking last week as an example). Speaking only for myself, I need good men, but we desperately need horrible men to stop being a menace to women, children, and other good men, and that can only be accomplished by proper sentencing which we do not have in the western world where sentencing is a joke. As far as I'm concerned holders of child abuse images should be punished at least like rapists. Rapists should be punished like murderers. Serial rapists, child molesters, makers of child abuse images should get death.

The so called "good decent" men need to speak up. It is only then that things will change.

The plane hijacking is not a good example. Firstly he might have been primarily motivated by saving himself and also women are socialised to not be pilots, so the chances of a spare pilot being a male is quite high.

I have no idea where you got this idea from that men protect other men. From first hand experience, I can tell you that men hate other men even more than they hate women. The men I know would not give a shit if something bad happened to me, or if I died.

Being less masculine and less aggressive would mean that no women would be romantically interested in those men.

What is terrifying is that on the one hand many women are against the crimes, but then prop parties which are guaranteed to boost these crimes in future because "we have to protect our borders" etc etc etc. Go figure.

That's 93.6% of crimes are committed by men, not 93.6% of men commit crime.

The stats are arrest and conviction rates, for everyone who said there are more unreported I don't doubt that but if it's unreported it can't be a stat. However I don't think it would take the figure up to 50% or more so it's still not the majority of men.

I say this as a woman who has been a victim of two crimes committed by men. I can still see its not the majority though.

Most of them may not appear to be aggressive - but they typically have the particular traits and characteristics which feed into aggression.

Conviction rates only give you one part of the picture.

If you look at rape statistics fewer than 3 in 100 rapes recorded by the police resulted in someone being charged. The overall chance of a reported sexual assault or rape resulting in a conviction is estimated between 1% and 3%.

So there are many men out there who got away with rape or sexual assault because the victim decided not to report it because they know there is only a minuscule chance that the man who attack them will be charged let alone convicted.

Same with domestic violence.

Not all incidents are reported and there are still real issues as to how the police and then judges deal with women reporting violence in the home or sexual assault.

Also just bleating 'not all men' is a tedious way of gaslighting women and ignoring the fact that toxic masculinity is a real issue.

Many men are not even 'protectors' of their 'close family'.

You only have to look at this forum to see how many will cheat on their partner and do little to raise their own kids to realise that.

Not to mention high rates of domestic violence: 1 in 4 women in the uk experiences domestic violence.
