The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

A woman takes a photo of sign advertising the Green Party conference.

Green Party members back 'Zionism is racism' conference motion

The vote has caused divisions among figures at the top of the party at its conference in Brighton.

That is not entirely accurate. The motion was put forward by activists and heavily opposed by the party's top leadership—including four out of five Green MPs, who publicly spoke out against the wording. Furthermore, conference votes become internal policy but do not automatically dictate the general election manifesto.

It is also worth noting that the motion was championed by prominent ethnic minority members, like joint deputy leader Mothin Ali, to oppose oppressive systems. Following the conference, Green leadership issued a unified statement re-affirming that the Greens are "an anti-racist party in every way," fully bound by the Equality Act, and deeply committed to protecting all minority communities—including both British Jews and British Asian groups.

Oh thank goodness, thats a relief then….

supernaturalmilkshake · 06/10/2026 09:23

YANBU. Weird how the "anti-war" crowd actively salivate at the prospect of war with Israel. Nothing environmentally friendly about ethnically cleansing seven million Jews from their homes.

There is already a single democratic state in the region. It is called Israel.

Indeed. Do people really imagine that Hamas would set up a democratic state?

Actions speak louder than words. Jewish schools and synagogues need 24-hr security. British Jews are not safe to walk the streets without being racially abused or worse. What the Greens have just voted for will do nothing to address any of this.

Extremist infiltration aside, the most depressing thing in my opinion is the complete destruction of the crusty greens that I was part of back in the day. Reduce, reuse, recycle. With the overriding emphasis on reduce. Less was the only way forward, simpler lives to prevent further environmental destruction. That message was completely hijacked and now it's all infinity electric cars made with finite lithium grubbed out of the ground by African children. And now it's just extremism and millionaire socialists. So grim.

You mean, like this ‘Green’ councillor? Although I’d be surprised if his Lamborghini is electric.

Environmental issues are seemingly no priority of the Green Party.

This. A community gets demonised and targeted because of some people's ill informed opinions. It's not acceptable.

BrambleyHedgeAutumn · 06/10/2026 09:33

They've descended into rabid antisemitism... Not that surprising when you look at some of the membership. This is a dangerous time for the nation in so many ways, there's a kind of madness and accelerationism underway.

senua · 06/10/2026 09:33

The worring thing is that this was carried by around 300 votes out of a couple of thousand voting and has to now become Green (agree they need a name change) policy as per their constitution.
In trying to think of a variation on the colour 'green', I settled on 'bogey'.
Make up your own puns on a theme of bogeymen, bogus, etc.Grin

Yes, I'm sure Jewish people feel most relieved.

I agree, it's very dangerous. Sectarianism, intolerance and the rule of the chanting mob.

Thepeopleversuswork · 06/10/2026 09:37

They're an absolute disgrace.

I fervently hope Polanski is wiped off the map in the coming Holborn and St Pancras byelection and that is the end of this poisonous movement. The man is a cynical, spineless toerag.

I for one feel completely reassured and will stop calling the greens a bunch of racist degenerates now..

Please do. Just remember that they want to replace the democratic state of Israel with an Islamist regime and that will of course, be pain free.

Woodeny · 06/10/2026 09:40

I wonder what made the antisemitic hate mob choose the Greens to infiltrate? Did they look at the voters and think the smug middle class yoghurt knitters paid the least attention to current affairs and were most likely to turn a blind eye?

AestheticallyChallenged · 06/10/2026 09:41

I was really pissed off by Zac Polanski's speech at the Autumn Conference. He was congratulating Stroud for building affordable housing - yes they've done it all over the greenbelt surrounding Gloucester. Twat.

Yes, and I think we know how it will be enacted, from the evidence of 7/10 .

Yes. The ‘maps’ will be next no doubt. So open minded their brains have fallen out.

The yoghurt knitting crew turned a blind eye to the rabid TRAs…

ForRedPoet · 06/10/2026 08:56

They have dropped their anti nuclear stance now.

I think they'll also drop Zack P once he has outlived his usefulness, perhaps next year and become even more rabid.

I fully expect them to be there with their infitada banners on the pro Palestinian march planned for 7th Oct (as if we needed more proof, but the date alone proving the march isn't about Palestine at all!).

Seriously..I had no idea
I don't follow anything about them now
I took an instant dislike to ZP

TheHateIsNotGood · 06/10/2026 09:43

Unfortunately the Greens started losing my vote for the past few years due to non-environmental crap like this. I doubt they will ever get it back now.

I think that is exactly it. They have aligned with people like the Socialist Worker Party who are extremely adept at infiltrating and taking over parties from within, using their own systems against them. The Greens have a naive 'every opinion is equal' approach that worked with the yoghurt knitters and sandal wearers but is a disaster when faced with people with an agenda and takeover in mind.

Username7258 · 06/10/2026 09:45

It's absolutely disgusting. I also used to vote greens and won't any more. Anti-Semitism is vile, same as every other type of racism, no matter the skin colour of the people doing it.

It will be interesting to see the battle between the islamists and LGBTQ. I wonder who will win?

This is a clear clash in their party
I to am very interested to see what happens

The party will very likely implode after the coming byelection. There are too many internal contradictions for it to hang together any more. Then the antisemitic wing can go crawling back to Corbyn and his goons.

I've never voted Green as I always thought they were a bit flaky but I could at least respect the ethos and was glad of the alternative. Now I think they're a dangerous bunch of misguided extremists. I never thought I'd say this but I'd vote Reform over them now.

Woodeny · 06/10/2026 09:53

I have voted Green in the past - maybe about 25 years ago - as the environment has always concerned me. Then it was all about recycling and changing lightbulbs, putting a brick in your cistern etc. I have no shame in voting for the party then. I’d be horrified if I knew anyone who voted for them now.
