The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

A woman takes a photo of sign advertising the Green Party conference.

Green Party members back 'Zionism is racism' conference motion

The vote has caused divisions among figures at the top of the party at its conference in Brighton.

Joe Belcher, a Walsall candidate, allegedly shared content on social media, suggesting that Hamas might have been paid by Israel to carry out the 7 October 2023 attack. He was suspended by the party when running in the 2024 local elections. Raja Ateeq, another Walsall candidate, referred to “Jewish cockroaches” and called former Prime Minister of Pakistan, anti-Zionist Imran Khan a “Yahoodi [Jewish] agent”. According to the party, the tweet was deleted.

Well yes. How can you be all for the environment while wanting further immigration into one of the most nature depleted countries in the world?

WhereAreTheTrueGreens · 04/10/2026 22:14

In 2025, Bournemouth candidate, Feda Shahin, claimed that in the Soviet Union 'the Zionists killed 20 million Christians', and 'love genocide'. Speaking at an event of the Palestine Solidarity Movement in February 2026, Shahin referred to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island as “a symbol of the headquarters of the Zionists who are trying to control the world.” Shahin remained an officially-endorsed candidate.

In March 2026, The Daily Telegraph reported that party activists referred to Jewish people as “an abomination to this planet” in 'Greens for Palestine' group chat on WhatsApp.

In April 2026, the party suspended Tony Greenstein, citing a “documented history of anti-Semitism”. The party's council decided to expel him the following month. Greenstein has been expelled from the Labour Party in 2018 after he was found to have violated the party rules regarding “prejudicial” or “grossly detrimental” conduct, writing about “Zio idiots”, “Zionist scum” and arguing that “Zionists collaborated with the Nazis”.

Following the Golders Green stabbing attack in late April 2026, Waltham Forest candidate, Brian Capaloff, was investigated by the Party for allegedly using an anonymous X account to post incendiary comments.

Also in April 2026, Blackheath party candidate Dr. Rebecca Jones repeatedly targeted 'Zios' a term popularised by the far-right and Ku Klux Klan's David Duke.
She also called on people to 'burn Zionism to the ground', and posted that Bob Vylan's Glastonbury festival chant 'Death, death to the IDF' was 'amazing'. Listening to the will and testament of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas leader behind the October 7th attacks and massacres in Israel she said 'This is so beautiful'."

The accounts fo on and on and on

They have been overtaken by the left wingers who labour no longer want. The policies that gain the most publicity, and they knew this one would, have nothing to do with the stated aims of the party.

You notice the leader, real none David Pauldon, scuttled off before the vote...real leadership there Dave.

LuckyHazelFox · 04/10/2026 22:49

A vile bunch of anti-semitic actors playing at being MPs for the UK. The rest of the party don't even know what's unfolding.

LuckyHazelFox · 04/10/2026 22:57

Hannah Spencer appears all sweetness and light. Another wolf in sheep's clothing in the party. Polanski conspicuous by his absence in the vote - all pre-ordained, of course.

Newrumpus · 04/10/2026 22:58

They are disgusting. Openly anti-Semitic, bigoted fools.

LuckyHazelFox · 04/10/2026 23:06

I see a Pro Pal protest has been scheduled for 7th October. It gets more sickening but there will be the usual tumbleweed. Cries of racism are reserved for those concerned about asylum seekers.

Deafnotdumb · 05/10/2026 00:09

They are dangerous idiots at best and openly antisemitic at worst.
It's not going to make them any more electable but it is going to make life harder for the UK's Jewish communities.

I wish I could say I'm surprised, but after the way they've treated women, I'm not.

Nutmuncher · 05/10/2026 00:18

Very strange mix of people, there must be so many elephants in the room whenever they get together.

ginkhao · 05/10/2026 04:11

I'm particularly impressed how there has been an apparent enviornmental awakening among people who do nothing for the environment but do hold hateful views about Israel and Jews. They found their home after the Labour party booted out Corbyn

SmugglersHaunt · 05/10/2026 04:34

Vile, racist idiots. They make my flesh crawl

CoffeeCantata · 05/10/2026 08:59

I’m shocked at the way they’ve gone. They’re far from the environmental force they purport to be.

They need a change of name - the current one is deliberately deceptive.

Both groups are anti Semitic, the homophobia is forgiven because Islamic countries embrace trans ideology as a way of transing away their Gay children. LGB rights are sooo last century. As are women's rights. The Left has always been misogynistic. Labour can't even bring itself to be led by a woman. They look miles apart but men controlling women and anti semitism runs deep in both ideologies.

They are. They are vile anti-semites whilst calling others racist. All in plain sight here in the UK. Masquerading under the name 'Green Party'.

Horrendous people. I’ll not hold back in the future when acquaintances tell me they’re voting Green in saying with faux incredulity ‘I had no idea you were so antisemitic’!

WhereAreTheTrueGreens · 05/10/2026 13:18

I should add that there were a handful of Greens who were quoted as oposing their shameful motion.

"Four of the party's five MPs - Ellie Chowns, Adrian Ramsay and Carla Denyer, Sian Berry - had publicly opposed it, with Denyer arguing it could risk "alienating a significant proportion of Jewish people".
Chowns, as well as former Green Party leader Caroline Lucas, both spoke against the motion during the debate.
Addressing members, Lucas said: "I urge you not to support the over-simplification at the heart of this motion - a refusal to accept complexities which is leading to so many Jewish members feeling scared and unwelcome in our party."

Yep, they’ve totally lost the plot.

From a likeable and relatively sensible bunch of environmental-types to a bunch of single-issue obsessives and extremists.

ScrollingLeaves · 05/10/2026 13:23

Though I am very upset and critical about what Israel has been doing in Palestine, I do not agree with this latest Green announcement at all. I think it is completely wrong and that the Greens are unelectable.

No, I would never vote for them.

1dayatatime · 05/10/2026 13:24

So we have a political party in the UK that hates capitalism, blames all our problems on the rich and the Jews and to cap it off their leader is also vegetarian.

Now what 1930s German political party does that remind you of?

SirenScream · 05/10/2026 13:26

Zach Polanski is an annoying lisping twit.

They are the oddballs of our society - worryingly given a political mouthpiece. I despise them.

They are disgraceful.
