The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

A woman takes a photo of sign advertising the Green Party conference.

Green Party members back 'Zionism is racism' conference motion

The vote has caused divisions among figures at the top of the party at its conference in Brighton.

As Ali noted, the key context for this vote is the heavy Palestinian death toll and the massive, devastating destruction of lives in Gaza and Palestine. For the members who voted for it, this wasn't an attack on British Jews, but a direct response to that ongoing catastrophe—using policy to stand in solidarity against what they view as severe oppression and to call for equal human rights for everyone on that land.

British Jews must not have received the memo that being branded racists, is not an attack on them. Silly them.

Indeed. Or that "equal rights for anyone on that land" will never happen under the brutal rule of the fascist Hamas.

Woodeny · 06/10/2026 11:30

The co leader of the Scottish Greens Ross Greer has publicly said that Zionism is racism. For those blissfully unaware of Scottish politics guy is widely regarded as a frontrunner in the hotly contested competition of ‘thickest Scottish MSP’, but still…

Everyone with two brain cells to rub together can see that people who use Gaza to justify their anti semitism is just another naked emperor scenario. We all know how you actually feel about Jews but everyone is too scared to say it out loud. The Greens just don’t have the balls to admit it. Yet.

darkdaysareover · 06/10/2026 11:39

The Greens have blood on their hands now because they will be indirectly responsible for any further violence against British Jews.

What a shock it must have been to him ( not) that the only effect it has had has been that British Jews feel attacked. Those silly Jews misunderstanding the chants of ' Zio's not welcome here' ( ' here' being Brighton, not Tel Aviv) as an attack on them. Especially when amendments making it clear they were not going to be punished for attending Jewish community groups and synagogues was voted down. Honestly they are so oversensitive! A proposal that would guarantee the elimination of 7 million Jews is in no way an attack on British Jews. Of course not. It's the Corbynite excuse. You don't understand what we meant when we said words that commonly mean one thing, because they really mean something else that we've made up to suit our agenda.

They do. No doubt they will have some sort of event tomorrow, the anniversary of 7/10.
It certainly won't be about solidarity. Funny how sympathy for victims of brutality and violence doesn't get applied to Jews.

How many have died in Sudan?
How many have died in Yemen?
How many have died in Iran?

More people were killed in a few weeks in Iran than 3 years in Gaza.

hypocrites and dissemblers, third worldism at it’s finest.

Why didn't they include an "Islamism is racism" vote then? There have been far more deaths and destruction under the banner of "Islamism" (political Islam), with minimum 30,000 civilians murdered by the genocidal Islamic regime in Iran this year alone, let alone the hundreds of thousands of civilians murdered in places like Sudan by the Arab Janjaweed, and the hundreds of thousands of Christians slaughtered in Nigeria, all by Islamist ideology, all because they were either considered infidels or because in Sudan they are non-Arab Africans. The scale of destruction in Sudan is so massive it can be seen from space, not to mention the thousands of yearly deaths caused by terrorist attacks all over the world in the name of this political ideology!

Yes, what a surprise that they don't condemn that.

The majority of victims of Islamist extremism globally are Muslims. Not to mention the large number of Muslim women living in Afghanistan who would rather kill themselves than live under the Taliban. Who cares about them eh?

Very few, it would seem.
Certainly not the Green Party.

The Green Party are a good advertisement for keeping first past the post. Imagine them with 15 per cent of the vote and 60 or 70 seats and labour 250 or so needing their support to form a government.

What a nightmare. I can't decide if they're racist, misogynist and homophobic, or just complete idiots who've never opened a book and have zero idea of Middle East history.

Bringemout · 06/10/2026 12:39

The green party doesn’t think the IRGC should be proscribed despite the fact that there have been over 20 terror plots directed at the UK.

The call is coming from inside the house at this point. If you are supporting people who want to kill your fellow britons, whatever their race and religion you need to have a bloody good hard look at yourself.

Hmm I wonder if it's a case of ' follow the money' on that one. I wonder who is ' donating' to Greens for Palestine and Palestine Action?

Covert racism....

Crikeyalmighty · 06/10/2026 13:15

I’m a centre left voter, sometimes Labour, sometimes Lib Dem depending where I’ve lived - most of all though I am in the land of reality and I’m afraid the greens in my opinion aren’t - situations like this require international efforts and world wide diplomacy and action by those with the power to effect change.. - plenty of Jewish people worldwide find Netanyahu and his gvt and their actions repulsive whether zionists or not - and to be frank lots of the population whilst aware of world affairs are equally concerned about stuff more on their doorstep - I won’t vote Green, not because I’m not interested in ‘green’ I am, but so are Labour and the Lib Dem’s- I am not though voting for a party that seems to have little to vote for in terms of business, doesn’t seem to believe in actual defence, and appears to have a strange idea that life can be one long free for all without people at all income levels ( not just the wealthy) paying for it - for me it’s all a bit po faced, holidays in Cornwall , shared houses till you are 50 and anti car - basically an extremely extended student lifestyle - I know plenty of green voters and a great many fit into this cliche andare actually nearly all from comfortably off families where things like getting housing, needing proper full time jobs and not having access to family money matter a lot - whilst they potter round with a bit of occasional freelance and family cash to fall back on OR are the personality to live a bit off the grid in run down houses in middle of nowhere - I like many of them a lot as someone I know but they often can’t grasp that what matters to them isn’t the priority for others - same of course applies to many on their doorstep far right - hence why I’m very much in the middle- I think a healthy and relatively wealthy society needs some balance.

Bristol’s Green council have been an absolute shower, just in case anyone wanted an idea of what they’re like in power.
They got in off the back of shockingly low turnouts and will be best remembered for a shit floor painting in a high foot traffic area that they paid £61k of taxpayers money for and which only lasted a couple of months, and are now saying they’ll throw even more money at redoing it using deeply unenvironmentally friendly thermoplastics. On top of that, a rather chummy charity run by a former mayor that received £30k of the cash say it’s ‘unreasonable’ for the public to demand a breakdown of how their share of the money was spent.
So, what could you expect from a Green Party government? Well, if this is anything to go by money wasted on warm and fuzzy crap vanity projects and cronyism as well as all the other shit already mentioned in this thread.
