The Green Party are an unelectable bunch of extreme soundbites and not environmental at all

The Green Party are more and more extremist. The latest is that supporting the right to Jewish self determination (Zionism) is now racist.

The Green Party are a million miles from the Green Party I voted for years ago. Now full of men that think they are women, accusing people that believe in self determination for their own people as racist. They appear unable to see the division and racism of their own party. Many antisemitic tweets from their members over the last few years.

AIBU

The Green Party are long gone to a bunch of extreme individuals with not a chance of being elected party.

At least all the nutters are in one place nowadays.

I really hope so, unfortunately I fear that it's just the outspoken nutters in one place. The other nutters are smart enough not to openly state their hateful views
and stay hidden.

I wonder how long it will take him to find out that it's the 'old guard' Green women who have betrayed women on the Trans Right altar, so get rid of them and they are left with ultra conservative Islamists and them.

Thunderdome! Two authoritarian ideologies enter, one authoritarian ideology leaves!
I’d actually pay good money to watch them slug it out.

On a more serious note, if anyone wants a real eye opener, The News Agents podcast went to the Green conference before the vote went through. It’s the episode Special Report: Has Zack Polanski Peaked?

Holy shitballs 😬

The episode after the vote is absolutely scathing.

Yes, it is. I listened to both yesterday and my eyes blinked so much out of sheer incredulity I had to rest them for a bit afterwards.
In other related news, hopefully this is a sign that the rats are starting to abandon ship-

A switch from Green to Tories? That's interesting. Glad he's seen the light.

Douglasmummy · 07/10/2026 21:53

That is an interesting swap. There seems to be a few Suffolk councillors going. I wonder if Adrian Ramsey will go as an MP. He said not, but he looked absolutely shattered.

Julie Bindel’s report was even more eye- opening. It’s on her Substack and as a podcast - not sure if it’s paywalled. (I subscribe to Ms Bindel to support feminist journalism).

It’s a weird one, isn’t it? I’d have thought Lib Dem or Burnham bounce Labour would have been the more obvious choice, the Tories is certainly a curveball. Then again back in January this Green councillor defected to Reform, but at least that’s a two cheeks of the same arse scenario.

I think it more likely that they are unhappy in their skin than you, and that's the issue that needs addressing. ( No pun intended)

Yes I'd have thought Lib Dem too. Maybe they forgot about them? The Lib Dems offered an open invitation to Greens who wanted to move over too.

Just goes to show what a disparate bunch of cranks and oddballs the Greens actually are. As we’ve already noted in this thread, one of the party’s big weaknesses is its lack of coherence, and that’ll probably be its ultimate downfall.
If Polanski crashes and burns in today’s by-election, and today’s latest polling has put him 16% behind the Labour candidate, will the 2026 conference be seen in future as the point where the Green Party’s salad days started to wilt? 🥬

WhereAreTheTrueGreens · 08/10/2026 11:22

Not surprised at all.

"Green behind Zionism vote is ‘good friend’ of al-Qaeda terrorist
Exclusive: Party member offered to testify in defence of Heathrow bomb plotter"

They always seem to be whanging on about a conflict thousands of miles away and don't appear interested in what actually happens here in the country they ar supposed to represent. They are mob like and fortunately many normal people have realised that now.

I am not Jewish, but I will be lighting a few candles tomorrow. The people who died at the music festival weren't any sort of Jewish extremists, just fans of electronic dance music. The same sort of people that Polanski had at his Trafalgar Square Gig. I imagine the people at the Nova festival were pro-LGBT rights.

This.

Yet here we are in the UK with a political party that has antisemitism openly displayed.

The Green Party member behind a motion which declared Zionism to be racism was named in court documents as a "close friend" of a man who was jailed after being accused of plotting a suicide bomb attack at Heathrow Airport.

Lubna Speitan, a British-Palestinian artist, proposed the Green conference motion defining Zionism as an ideology supporting "an ethnonationalist Jewish state".

Court documents from 2015 show she offered to testify as a defence witness in the trial of Minh Quang Pham, who was jailed for 40 years in the US after pleading guilty to supporting al-Qaeda. He denied planning a suicide attack.

This is the type of person that the current Green party appear to love. Close friend of a terrorist.

Islamic party perhaps?

More concerned with Middle Eastern politics than the environment, or Britain for that matter. Thats not to say the UK shouldn’t turn a blind eye to atrocities throughout the world, but our own political parties should be focusing on our countries real issues.

💯 to the PP who said their name was deliberately misleading.

Only good thing to come out of this is that people are waking up to their real agenda, which is most certainly not the environment!

They are more concerned with middle east politics than what goes on here. They could just pack up and move there and attempt to improve politics in the middle east since that's all they blabber on about now (apart from trans ideology stuff, which is wanning in popularity).

I understand though that they aren't allowed to just say they are the Islamic party, at least it would be more honest.

This sounds a bit fascist as well:

They are described as ‘old guard Greens’, a lot of whom are ‘transphobes or Zionists"

I love the way he "bleeped out" the word Zionist.

Sometimes I worry about the civil war to come; sometimes I think they won't be able to come out of their parents' basements without their support animals and a guarantee that we won't be allowed to use hurty words.

Hmm? Men who can’t cope with hurty words versus men from cultures where fighting is viscous and without rules. Hard to call that one!
