What would the Left call the Right, if the small boat people were white?

Blondiebeachbabe · 29/09/2026 13:19

I'll start by saying, I am very anti open boarders, and I am horrified that so many illegal immigrants are arriving every day. But for me, it has absolutely nothing to do with skin colour, it is more to do with :

ONE) They have no documentation, and we have no idea if they have criminal backgrounds

TWO) They tend to come from cultures where women are not respected

THREE) They often come from places where rape is not a crime

FOUR) They cannot work, and it is costing Millions to house, feed and clothe them

FIVE) We are granting asylum to some people who should never get it - like the Hamas bodyguard we heard of yesterday

Lots of valid reasons I feel, however, for me, it has nothing to do with skin colour. If I had to be locked in a room overnight with a white man from a backward culture, or a black man from the UK, I would choose the latter, every single time.

It isn't colour, it's culture

But I see that people on the Far Left just scream "Racist" to anyone who opposes illegal immigration. What would they scream, if all the small boats were full of white men? And would people still march for England?

I am not so concerned about what internal personal prejudices people do or do not have. I am concerned about how their policies and actions actually affect other people.

And there really IS a danger that people who want to go back to the Good Old Days may reverse our hard-won and quite recent social liberalism and protection of human rights for women and minorities, Not yet in the UK, as they're not in power. But it's been happening in the USA, especially the Republican-voting states. The removal of constitutional protection for women's reproductive rights. The planned removal of 'DEI' laws that protect women's rights in the workplace. Vance, a likely future president, has expressed a wish to prohibit abortion and same-sex marriage and has not only sneered at 'childless cat ladies' but propsed that parents should have more voting rights than non-parents.

Hungary, for 10 years, had a leader, Orban, who explicitly aimed at 'illiberal democracy; and called on Central European nations 'to preserve their Christian roots as western Europe experiments with same-sex families, immigration and atheism'..and Hungary bans same-sex marriage and adoption.

Do Trump's America and (the recently defeated) Orban's Hungary equate to the governments of Afghanistan and Iran? Of course not. BUT they are examples of countries where an ideology of social conservativism has led BOTH to hostility to immigrants AND to the stalling and even reversal of Western liberal reforms. And I fear tha tFarage and his ironically misnamed 'Reform' party would do the same if allowed power.

But the fact they are black and brown is the point for the right. You guys wouldn’t be bothered if it was boats of white Americans etc coming over. Look at how middle England opened its arms to Ukrainians fleeing war.

So you would decry the British Empire then presumably?

I don’t like imperialism, no. Nor the treatment of the working classes here, which seems to be part and parcel of imperial behaviour and values. They start by screwing over people in their own nations with power games and then, having built up an incredible power through centralising resources and taking them away from the populace, start on other peoples. See Russia, the current US, Britain, Rome, etc etc etc

Men. The same story repeated again and again. I’m glad the birth rate is falling around the world.

I would be very bothered if there were endless boats of Americans coming here. For the same reasons - we are already very overpopulated, and the current US does not share European values. The working classes of Britain were suspicious of America for many years post war. Divided by a common language, as the saying goes.

@Somerford

"Throughout that time we have offered asylum and accepted refugees and in return we've received the Manchester Arena bombings and the Southport murders."

Both Salman Abedi and Axel Rudakabana were UK citizens born in the UK, so you really can't lay any blame at the door of refugees for their appalling crimes.

The Guardian
How family and Libya conflict radicalised Manchester Arena bomber.

Parents’ extremist views and civil war in the country of their birth set Salman Abedi on path to terrorism.

the family shuttling between Manchester and Tripoli

[Salman's father] was a member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), an Islamist organisation opposed to Gaddafi...^

Police evidence suggests Salman and Hashem [Salman's brother] – then aged 16 and 14 – fought as part of the civil war...

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/mar/02/how-family-libya-conflict-radicalised-manchester-arena-bomber

We also know that Axel Rudakabana was obsessed with genocide, including the Rwandan Genocide, a topic clearly influenced by his family background.

In Afghanistan and Iran the legal systems require extreme burdens of proof (such as multiple male eyewitnesses) and reporting an assault can frequently result in the victim being prosecuted instead of the attacker.

So is that not all the more reason people might want to escape/seek asylum from such countries?

I read recently that in the last few years, there have been 8 women murdered by immigrants to this country. There have been just shy of 300 murdered in the same time frame by british "born and bred" men. Which have we heard more about?

The Guardian published a list of 80 women allegedly killed by men in the UK in 2024. Around 30 of the 80 alleged killers (37%) are not white British (some white other or mixed heritage) - at least 20 of the alleged killers were definitely not born in the UK and several more possibly not born in the UK. That's just for 2024.

If you take a look at the figures you will see that we are nowhere near the top of the lists in terms of offering asylum. Please point me to where I made reference to "what some unelected body decides" or "what some bloke from the arse end of nowhere says".

I will ask again, who decides what our "fair share is ? We don't want to be top of the list , in fact we would all be happy to be bottom of the bloody list, The fewer the better thank you.

This is stark reading.

Remember as well, that there are approx 34.5 million men in the UK, and since records began (2018), we have taken approx 144k men via small boats. That means that illegal immigrant men make up approx 0.42% of the total male population.

I would be interested to know how the 37% of non British men is comprised : how many are here legally and thus vetted, and how many came in illegally (not vetted).

If we assume the latter (and I realise this is very much back of a fag packet maths), that would means that 0.42% of the male population are committing 37% of the killings.

And that is fucking terrifying.

Yes, and that's absolutely awful, but it really isn't that long since it became a crime in this country. So let's not put ourselves on too high a pedestal.

And while we're on that subject, yes, it's fucking horrific that women in places like Afghanistan and Iran face so many barriers to justice, but let's not forget that only around 2% of rapes reported to the police in our own country result in convictions, and there will be many more cases which don't get reported at all.

There are many countries where women's rights are in an absolutely dire state, with Iran and Afghanistan being prime examples. But their struggles do not necessarily reflect the views of all Iranian and Afghan men, any more than the fact of marital rape having been legal in the UK when I was a child would have made our fathers and grandfathers guilty of believing that rape was ok.

any more than the fact of marital rape having been legal in the UK when I was a child would have made our fathers and grandfathers guilty of believing that rape was ok

No they didn't! It was written into law in 1991 that marital rape was a crime. I was married by then, as were all my friends. Believe you me, NO ONE thought that marital rape was fine. Not our generation, and not my parents generation (born in the 1940's). Things don't have to be spelled out in law for normal people not to behave like savages. Although I guess I'm going against my own argument there about the men from Iran etc.

We don’t know. And as the home office is finding out it’s hard to remove people if the risk is exposed.

Prior to 2022, people regularly went on holiday to Ukraine. They had a thriving tourist industry.

That's exactly the point that I was making. Marital rape was legal in the UK until 1991, but that did not mean that the majority of British men at that time thought that it was ok to rape their wives.

So we cannot assume that Iranian men all think it's fine to rape their wives either.

Their backgrounds can't be checked. They could be anyone.

Mu point is, that anyone from anywhere is just as likely to be a potential sex offender.

A random British man going abroad now is no more or no less likely to sexually offend than a man arriving via a boat from Afghanistan, or an Afghan business man, or an Afghan student.

So, two men, raised in entirely different cultures .....

One raised in a culture where - women are equal to men, women are educated, women vote, women work, women wear what they want, women have total autonomy, rape is against the law etc

The other, raised in a culture where - women are a sub-class, women are not allowed to have an education, women are not allowed to work, women have no rights, women can't vote, women are covered head to toe, women are not allowed out alone, women are not allowed in parks, women are not allowed to sing, women can be raped by their husbands, women can be stoned to death etc

You believe, that these two men are likely to behave identically in their approach to women, and neither one would be a higher risk to a woman's safety?

REALLY?
