Any one else worried about the rise of the far right in Europe. Churchill once said ‘those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it’. Obviously social conditions are different from the 1930s, but there are similarities such as using immigrants as scapegoats (not Jews this time). Things can so easily escalate and I admit to being worried

How many of these protestors actually work? Most working people I know are in bed at 2am because they have work the next day and also don’t want to risk losing their jobs by being filmed engaging in thuggery.

Watching Sky News is irrelevant, the interview comments have been published or shown on every news outlet admittedly unsure about GB News as I don't watch it. Perhaps, they are bias and didn't broadcast it. How can you know the story but not know this?

Because she has worked since she left school and paid her taxes. Because she privately rents she cannot afford to save a deposit for a mortgage so why shouldn't she get some benefit. Not long ago our council had a strict rule you must have local connections to get a council house not anymore. You keep believing it's fair that if she arrived on a dinghy she would be sorted.

It’s not just the far right that’s rising — the right in general is. I’ve never known so many people describing themselves as centre-right. I suspect a lot of them would probably have called themselves Conservative once, before the party made itself virtually unelectable.

Politics is changing, and frankly, it’s right that it does. We’re not living in the post-WW2 world anymore, so why would we expect the political priorities of 80 years ago to still be the right ones for today?
