The MoJ conviction data shows that white women are over represented in terms of convictions vs population (90% of convictions vs 81% of the population).

Does that mean we should treat all white women as potential criminals?

I am fine with the publication of full data. The context must be an analysis by qualified senior statisticians and this means virtually every choice must be very carefully thought through. Not to hide anything but to make rigorous comparisons.

There is a reason people get PhDs in statistics. The evidence of the thread doesn’t suggest that OP and most of her supporters are terribly interested in statistical integrity.

Reform doesn’t want this. They are frantically trying to make enough noise to distract from the party’s troubles and Farage’s personal ones. The Greens probably aren’t thinking clearly. The government, the Tories and probably the Lib Dems realise what a daunting task it would be. It’s a FOI request. If the ICO says it fits their parameters then political sensitivity from Labour isn’t relevant.

They say that crimes committed by tourists are typically counted as crimes by short term immigrants and these skew the statistics significantly.

Can you quote directly from the links. I can only see a brief reference to tourists in one of the links;

If the data told me an Afghan was 14 times likely to rape then putting 4 of them in an HMO next door to a school would be a massive no! Surely that’s the type of thing we do with stats and as for being raped by Jim from Middletown or Mo from Sudan no contest!

It’s the public though who benefit from the FOI system. It doesn’t need careful application of anything, or party allegiance.

It just needs to fit the requirements of a FOI request, which is overseen by the ICO.

I’m not disagreeing with you particularly but I do think what we have is a good democratic system wrt information availability.

Well funnily enough Mahmood has said they won't house asylum seekers next to schools. Why is that?

With evidence to confirm the fact that men from Afganistan are 14x more likely to carry out sexual assault(as has been suggested) it tells me that I don't want them coming to the uk - if they do come illegally they should be detained until they are removed.

The Government have just decided that they will not grant student visas to people from Sudan, Afganistan and some other countries because of the liklihood that they will claim asylum. They are able to say no to a group of people because of the behaviour of some of the people.

If statistics show men from Afganistan are 14x more likely than British men to sexually assault the Government should say no to them s a group because of the risk of sexusl assault.
