It seems to be every weekend me and my partner have a disagreement. He punishes me and doesn’t see me the whole weekend. Last night I was very drunk and we went to a bar for 1 drink. My boyfriend was messin about with his phone and went into his camera roll and there was so many selfies of him that I’ve never seen or been sent them? I said that’s a bit odd and don’t think men do that? And he was raging and left me home and said he wants the whole weekend to himself when we had plans to go to the cinema tonight.. I don’t have my child all weekend (she’s away to her dads) so I am now sitting in the house alone off work all weekend because he’s now being stubborn and won’t see me. This isn’t the first time this has happened. How could you go the whole weekend without seeing your girlfriend? I usually work at the weekends to and this weekend is my time off :/ I apologised to him about being drunk etc and he started calling me a tragedy and a drunken mess. And he even said why don’t you go down to your mum and dads to feed you drink and ruin your life. Said some really nasty things. I don’t understand why he couldn’t just accept my apology and move on??

This relationship is over. Move on swiftly.

Doigoforit2 · Today 14:44

What a sordid little mess this is

Doigoforit2 · Today 14:44

Oh god there’s a child involved. Why? Why why why? Poor thing

Re. your title, are you asking because this is what he said to you and you want to know if it's okay?

Or are you asking if we would tell him to fuck off specifically?

You sound… unpleasant

ChavsAreReal · Today 14:54

Yanbu to tell him to fuck off.

Sartre · Today 14:54

I’d tell you both to fuck off because you sound like children.

I know. Some children really have a bad start to life, it's so sad.

IAmInTheHouseSidney · Today 14:55

Do you drink a lot?

Judicioususeofthewordgirdle · Today 14:56

He can’t accept your apology and move on because: (1) he’s emotionally immature / stunted, hence he reacts like a child, and/or (2) he’s emotionally abusive / controlling / doesn’t really like you.

This all adds up to one thing - just end it.

DirtyBird · Today 14:58

My ex would ghost me for days after a disagreement. The first time i let it slide but I knew it was over for us when he did it a second time.

Comeonbabylightmyaga · Today 14:58

To answer your question about would I tell Dh to fuck off, no I wouldn’t.

Would I tolerate him disappearing after each disagreement? Also no.

He appears to think that you have a problem with alcohol. Do you think that you do?

Sounds like you are not suited.

Bluenotgreen · Today 14:58

This relationship is over. Dust yourself down and make plans to see friends this weekend instead.

Do you think you might have a problem with alcohol?

TheJoyousHiker · Today 14:58

There seems to be two issues here, your drinking which you can control, with help if needed. Second is your DP’s behaviour - you can control that by breaking off your relationship with him.

Also, don’t sit at home for the weekend - go to the cinema by yourself, a long walk, coffee out and a walk around the shops, etc.

Well, I would tell this one to fuck off every day of the week and twice on Sunday, yeah.

But then I'd have a think about whether there was any truth in what he said about ruining your life. Do you have a problem with alcohol?

Also, to the point about not seeing your girlfriend all weekend - you should definitely be able to cope with a weekend on your own. See some friends, visit your mum, take up a hobby. Don't be dangling on a string waiting around for this man, or any man, to give you a purpose. 💐

I don’t think so I don’t even barely go out. But my mum and dad would be big drinkers

You got hammered and picked a fight and presumably accused him of sending selfies to other women (not really sure why people must send every selfie they take to their partner 🤷🏼‍♀️) so you’re a problem.

He is clearly now punishing you for picking a fight by refusing to see you either so he can see other people or as a form of abuse because he knows you’ll spend all weekend begging and apologising and he can then have the power of forgiving you (and you’ll drop the intial issue about photos/other women out of relief at having his forgiveness and he’s never explained himself). Either way, he is a problem.

This is toxic and you need to break the cycle.

when you say see other people do you mean see other women? Or friends etc. does it look guilty that he got so defensive when I mentioned the selfies?

when you don’t care about them and not really interested in them

Doigoforit2 · Today 15:04

and no doubt raging hangover now
did you call in sick?
