It seems to be every weekend me and my partner have a disagreement. He punishes me and doesn’t see me the whole weekend. Last night I was very drunk and we went to a bar for 1 drink. My boyfriend was messin about with his phone and went into his camera roll and there was so many selfies of him that I’ve never seen or been sent them? I said that’s a bit odd and don’t think men do that? And he was raging and left me home and said he wants the whole weekend to himself when we had plans to go to the cinema tonight.. I don’t have my child all weekend (she’s away to her dads) so I am now sitting in the house alone off work all weekend because he’s now being stubborn and won’t see me. This isn’t the first time this has happened. How could you go the whole weekend without seeing your girlfriend? I usually work at the weekends to and this weekend is my time off :/ I apologised to him about being drunk etc and he started calling me a tragedy and a drunken mess. And he even said why don’t you go down to your mum and dads to feed you drink and ruin your life. Said some really nasty things. I don’t understand why he couldn’t just accept my apology and move on??

Are you drunk now? This is the 2nd thread you've posted today and the other one was deleted by MNHQ

Depressing to think this is what a child is growing up with

when you say see other people do you mean see other women? Or friends etc. does it look guilty that he got so defensive when I mentioned the selfies?

Whoever. He wants the freedom this weekend of doing what he wants and not having to report back to you or text you or call you because you’re in a fight so he’s ignoring you.

He may be seeing friends or other women or whatever but this is a tool used to escape accountability by abusers. By the time Sunday rolls around and he decides to forgive you, he’s had his fun and he gets his relationship back and you’re so relieved to hear from him that he never gets held accountable.

Don’t let him treat you like this.

MNLurker1345 · Today 15:07

Are you still drunk?

BudgetBuster · Today 15:07

I'd probably tell you to fuck off if I were him tbh. You got drunk, picked a fight for no reason, and now you're complaining that he wants some space?

But equally he's said some nasty thing (none of us know if they're true or relevant) so yeah I'd bung him off too.

Absolutely not compatible with eachother and I truly hope your child hasn't met him.

GoodkneeBadKnee · Today 15:07

You've already posted about this. You sound very immature for someone in their 30s.

It doesn’t really matter. You clearly don’t trust him, he clearly doesn’t respect you. What’s the point? Just move on and make a life without this jerk in it. You may or may not meet someone else more suited. Either way, this doesn’t sound like someone you should be building a life with.

yep it’s usually a Sunday he contacts me or would come see me on a Sunday. It’s a joke at this rate.

Are you saying that you were drunk and you went through his phone and told him that he was odd for having selfies in his phone pics and that you didn't think men did that??

If that's the case, then Im not surprised he's upset with you.

Was he also drunk or was it just you?

If he doesn't want to see you or accept your apology I think it's patronising to say that he's being stubborn and refusing to see you. He's not a kid. He doesn't have to see someone who gets drunk, goes into his phone and then insults his masculinity for no reason.

Cooshawn · Today 15:11

You sound awfully immature and honestly I'm not surprised he struggles to tolerate your behaviour if it's as you've described.

I'm not sure what him having selfies in his camera roll is supposed to be indicative of. But my main group of friends are men and there's often selfies posted in our group chat.

If you were pissed when you met him, I can imagine you were already quite irritating before going on your rant over his camera roll. I can't say I'd be all that keen on spending a weekend with someone on the back of that either.

Why were you pissed? And why are you unable to spend a weekend doing your own thing? Have you no friends or hobbies?

Just mirroring the sentiments of others too, but your poor child.

Nah he was on his phone whilst we where sitting in the bar we where taking photos of us two. Then he went into his camera roll. I did apologise to him. But I’d understand him just wanting space even tonight. But to want space the whole weekend is a bit cuntish

MNLurker1345 · Today 15:16

@littlepink83 correct me if I am wrong.
You, your mum and dad are all heavy drinkers?

Tell us about that.

Is your partner also? Do you think alcohol played a part in him not wanting to see you over the weekend?

Pistachiocake · Today 15:16

Lmnop22 · Today 15:01

You got hammered and picked a fight and presumably accused him of sending selfies to other women (not really sure why people must send every selfie they take to their partner 🤷🏼‍♀️) so you’re a problem.

He is clearly now punishing you for picking a fight by refusing to see you either so he can see other people or as a form of abuse because he knows you’ll spend all weekend begging and apologising and he can then have the power of forgiving you (and you’ll drop the intial issue about photos/other women out of relief at having his forgiveness and he’s never explained himself). Either way, he is a problem.

This is toxic and you need to break the cycle.

And why shouldn't men take selfies? Most people I know (in all age groups) rarely do, but why would it be ok for one sex and not the other.
As for swearing at someone, well some people are bothered by swear words, some not, but that's not really the main problem here.

littlepink83 · Today 15:16

Tbh I don’t even think anything of the selfie camera roll. Theres no excuse but I can barely remember anything.. then he said I more than likely cheat if I can get drunk and not remember things

I don’t think I’m a heavy drinker. Sometimes I can get a bit carried away. But my mum and dad would be

This is the point I was making - he’s entitled to have plenty of selfies if he wants to take them and the fact he does and hasn’t sent the pics to the OP doesn’t mean he’s sending them to someone else which was the only explanation I could fathom OP being upset by seeing them

Cooshawn · Today 15:20

Do you not think its a bit weird being absolutely hammered to the point of having no memory on a worknight, when you're in the company of someone who isn't also pissed?

Are most of your disagreements when you are drinking ? Anyone who refused to see me as a form of punishment would be binned.

I think you also need to consider if maybe you need more to your life if you’re at loose ends when a man decides he doesn’t any to see you. I think you’re a tad too available.

MNLurker1345 · Today 15:21

It sounds like a miserable situation all round. Move on, you're not making each other happy.
