It seems to be every weekend me and my partner have a disagreement. He punishes me and doesn’t see me the whole weekend. Last night I was very drunk and we went to a bar for 1 drink. My boyfriend was messin about with his phone and went into his camera roll and there was so many selfies of him that I’ve never seen or been sent them? I said that’s a bit odd and don’t think men do that? And he was raging and left me home and said he wants the whole weekend to himself when we had plans to go to the cinema tonight.. I don’t have my child all weekend (she’s away to her dads) so I am now sitting in the house alone off work all weekend because he’s now being stubborn and won’t see me. This isn’t the first time this has happened. How could you go the whole weekend without seeing your girlfriend? I usually work at the weekends to and this weekend is my time off :/ I apologised to him about being drunk etc and he started calling me a tragedy and a drunken mess. And he even said why don’t you go down to your mum and dads to feed you drink and ruin your life. Said some really nasty things. I don’t understand why he couldn’t just accept my apology and move on??

This may be beside the point, but weird choice of language multiple times - "my mum and dad would be heavy drinkers". Why not "my mum and dad are heavy drinkers"?

In any case, sounds like you need to sort yourself out, at least for the sake of your child. Ditch the toxic relationship, stop drinking, go to work when you're supposed to.

Oh god, I was just about to defend you to the anti-drink puritans on the thread and now I've just read this shit and can no longer be arsed

Look I don't want to be particularly snarky with you but 'anti-drink puritans'? Really? Perhaps stop for just a minute and consider why someone might take that stance? Perhaps they've lost someone to drink? Had their lives or families destroyed by it? Watched someone they love die from it?
I'm pretty sure people - most people anyway - aren't being so called anti-drink puritans for the shits and giggles.

Are you drunk now? This is the 2nd thread you've posted today and the other one was deleted by MNHQ

Grow up

Oh I thought this was the same poster. The selfies one. So childish.

Doigoforit2 · Today 17:15

The Op will have passed out by now

BMW58 · Today 17:18

Sounds like he's fed up of your pissed-up shenanigans.

You get so pissed on a work night that you are too hungover to go to work next day.
The way you say it so casually makes me wonder if this is a regular event.

You have a problem and it's not him.

My mum and dad would be heavy drinkers x

What do you mean "would be"?

They either are, or they aren't.

I queried it earlier. I think it must be dialectical.

Exactly! Typo - dialectal. Must be the alcohol speaking.

BlueFahrenheit · Today 17:49

What a mess.

Some women cannot be helped.

Minasama · Today 17:50

You both sound immature and unreasonable. Why on earth do you care about the selfies on your boyfriend’s phone, and why are you looking at his phone in the first place?

In no functioning relationship do you tell each other to f- off. Once about 10 years ago my husband and I had a massive row and each told the other to “f- you!” That was once in the 20 years we have known each other and we still laugh about it as the lowest point in our communication.

No decent man will ever tell you to F off.

You should have seen some of the things he said to me. It was awful. Called me a tragedy. called me a mess. Was really nasty

Sounds to me that he is reacting to arguments so he can be away from your for the weekend. You both sound lovely and I wish you only the best.

Not nice things to say! Calling you a tragedy, so why don’t you not let him back into your life when he comes crawling back on Sunday.

I’m so sorry OP, that isn’t nice at all. I’ve read the rest of your posts and it does sound as if this is not the relationship for you.
Would you consider cutting back on the drinking though, for the sake of your child? The last thing you want is work giving you notice for lack of attendance, and being blind drunk isn’t a good look…

I hope you find lots of nice things to do this weekend. Stay strong.

I would say he’s abusive and he’s punishing you

Drunk or not, your comment wasn’t even that bad or offensive.

He’s either highly sensitive to your perceived criticism or he’s got something to hide (like sending the images to different girls perhaps?).

I would dump him. He’s treating you like sh*t.

It’s comments like this that ensure Mumsnet retains it’s reputation for being biased.

she was pissed and was an arse. Had a go at him for selfies (pretty sure accusing him of sending them to other women) and your response is that if he’s unhappy to be treated like that he’s abusive and must have something to hide!

imagine having you two as my neighbour 🙄

Like in ‘Who’s the gobshite who parked a Range Rover on my croquet lawn?’
OP: ‘Ah, that would be me’.

littlepink83 · Today 18:37

So are you all saying not one thing he has done is a red flag and would insinuate cheating? Not a trace of me on social media or WhatsApp. Tells me he doesn’t speak or hasn’t spoke to his ex wife who he has kids to once in 8 months. Never takes me anywhere etc. when we fall out doesn’t see me for days. Does it not sound like he’s entertaining other women?

Not everyone is in thrall to SM.

Why is him not speaking to his ex mean he's cheating??

If you never go out together where were you pissed up? At home where your children are?

Maybe he doesn't see you for days because he's fed up with your boozing?

The only red flag I can see is your drinking.
