'Don't rape, sexually assault or make kissing noises' at people, asylum seekers warned in guidance about living in UK

UK arrivals have been told to treat women equally, not sexually assault partners or have sex with children in a new Home Office pamphlet. As well as the guidebook, a series of posters have also been designed by the government.'

We're going round in circles. Yes, there is sexual voilence from home grown Brits, and that's a problem. Therefore it doesn't make sense to allow in unvetted men from cultures where sexual violence is a worse problem.

NancyThompson · 27/08/2026 16:19

NullaEffugium · 27/08/2026 16:17

Which we do already.

Asylum seekers? No we don't - how would we, if many destroy their documentation?

EasternStandard · 27/08/2026 16:20

NullaEffugium · 27/08/2026 16:17

Which we do already.

Can you detail how? What is gathered from the Taliban or the Sudanese state for example

GunnelVallquist · 27/08/2026 16:22

This is getting ridiculous.

EasternStandard · 27/08/2026 16:24

It’s interesting though as I think some do believe crime checks occur.

Perhaps the government has led to that misunderstanding. But knowing it’s not possible for a war torn country or under certain states perhaps @NullaEffugiumwill reconsider.

EasternStandard · 27/08/2026 15:42

Can you describe what checks are there for a man entering the UK from Afghanistan or Sudan? If they pass all other countries to enter what crime records are assessed?

The UK has data sharing agreements with the EU, US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan which all track 3rd country nationals including Afghans and Sudanese. We have our own database as well from when we were there. In addition, there is Interpol which has a large database of criminals worldwide and can request reports direct from Afghanistan and Sudan via diplomatic channels.

I am sure you have heard about the asylum case processing backlog? And how long it takes? Well a lot of the time is spent verifying identity and whether they have a criminal background.

CornishDaughteroftheDawn · 27/08/2026 16:25

NullaEffugium · 26/08/2026 18:50

You have misunderstood. I was responding to the claim that Christians never ever do such things.

I see. Your examples are hardly comparable though.

NancyThompson · 27/08/2026 16:25

Also take the recent London case where a "sexually uninhibited" man stabbed that poor woman with a broken bottle multiple times. He'd been kicked out of at least one European country.
So that tells me there are no background checks going on.

Destroying documentation is like losing your passport. It’s not that easy to hide your identity in today’s world.

What does data sharing look like with a country where the laws allow stoning or there’s continual bloody conflict, is it particularly robust?

GunnelVallquist · 27/08/2026 16:29

NancyThompson · 27/08/2026 16:27

In Nigeria, Christians are I would say almost always the victims, not the perpetrators.
These are the people I wish we could help

This is horrific!!!

And this are the sort of scum people want more of in this country!

EasternStandard · 27/08/2026 16:29

Also looking it up @NullaEffugium are you sure you’re correct?

Limitations: The Home Office typically does not request official overseas criminal record certificates from an asylum seeker's home country. Asking for records from an oppressive government or conflict zone could endanger the applicant or compromise their claim.

I’m starting to think that poster is on a wind-up.

Nobody can be this stupid.

People are disappearing 'daily' from asylum hotels, says whistleblower
A hotel contractor speaks of his fears about undocumented people absconding from hotels despite the government's promise to get the immigration system under control.

In an exclusive interview, the contractor described the chaos he sees within the system as "terrifying" because undocumented people are persistently absconding from hotels.

So surprising, isn't it.

That man is mentally ill with catatonic schizophrenia and prior to this incident had not committed any crimes. No crime= no criminal record.

Two days before the attack in Headingley, Albashir was stopped by police in the area after he was found with his trousers round his ankles and in a "trance-like state", but he was released with no action taken.
Consultant forensic psychiatrist Lucy Bacon told the court that all doctors agree that Albashir has catatonic schizophrenia.
Katherine Robinson, defending, told the court the offence "would not have occurred had this defendant not been experiencing a psychotic episode".

Seems to me the reason this happened is our own police didn’t take him to a hospital for psychiatric care.

You sure about that?

"Judge Robin Mairs said “it is by good fortune alone that (the woman) escaped with relatively minor injuries”, but noted that the victim’s mental scars are “profound and lifelong”.
He told the court he was worried about concerns raised over the defendant’s sexual conduct – including a sexual assault in a hotel where he was staying in Birmingham.
He also abused a member of staff while detained in hospital, Leeds Crown Court heard."

Yes, that is correct. Direct requests i.e UK to Sudan do not happen.

As I said, checks are done via data sharing agreements with various countries and what that looks like is access to each others digital databases. Where there is no digital database access, then we use interpol who requests via diplomatic channels on our behalf.

Feb 2024 Hansard_ Lord Jackson of Peterborough

'My Lords, the public are rightly concerned at recent cases which seem to indicate that our asylum system is broken and that we are unable to deport foreign criminals and failed asylum seekers due to bureaucratic inertia, judicial intervention and incompetence. Will my noble friend therefore commit to an urgent review of the criteria used in assessing asylum claims, including alleged religious conversions to Christianity, facilitated by the Church of England? Does he agree with me that, fundamentally, this and future Governments must decide between the safety and security of their own citizens and the perverse and damaging rulings of a foreign court?'

Answer : blah blah blah nah

Yes I am sure, no crime prior to arriving in the UK.

Now you are listing reported alleged crimes in the UK prior to the attack that our system ignored as it often does because women aren’t safe here. The police stopped him 2 days before the bottle attack - why weren’t the other alleged crimes reported by then? And if they had been reported, why did our police ignore them and let him go?

Our system missed many opportunities to prevent this mentally ill man from getting to the point of a psychotic break.

And not for the first time I might add with mentally ill men regardless of country of origin.

And Interpol know who is murdering others in war torn Sudan?

Are you sure?

If an ordinary fighter loots a home, commits sexual violence, or shoots a civilian in Sudan, Interpol is completely blind to it.

Local Law Enforcement Collapse: Interpol relies entirely on National Central Bureaus (NCBs) run by local police. Because Sudan's domestic infrastructure has utterly collapsed due to the ongoing civil war, local police are not processing fingerprints, booking records, or case files for average fighters to upload to Interpol.

We missed the first opportunity by not denying him asylum as France did.
We are not the dumping ground of the world's criminally insane.

No - France had rejected him. So he popped over the channel. Where of course he was welcomed with open arms.

Ibrahim Albashir, who is originally from Sudan, crossed into the UK on a small boat after having his asylum claim in France rejected.
