AIBU to think tatty lampost flags are imposing on communities?

To think.that people continuing to put up tatty flags on lamposts are imposing on communities?
There are people putting them up again near roads. They hang by a thread eventually causing a clear hazard. It looks disrespectful and costs money to make safe. And the intention looks less and less like they give a fig for anyone especially in diverse places.
Everywhere has a civic hub where flags are flown properly at the proper time.

No, they are stuffed with race realists, but to some people I suppose it is the same.

I don't think it's the communities themselves doing it though. These flag raising people are often not local. No one seems to puts flags up lamposts in their own street. They can just use their windows if they want to. It's not like the Jubilee or Coronation in that respect.

We've got a few round here that have been up for ages and they look fine, if a bit frayed.

The rather posh village 5 mins down the road is full of them! Every single lamp post has one, then they've strung up flag bunting along all the shop fronts. Drove through it a few days ago and they all look like theyve been renewed. Its not what id have expected from an achingly affluent area that has at least 3 artisan bread shops, yearly fetes, makers markets and a village society group 😂

Noone puts up flag in our little community, but it does not matter - the mood in this little community is 100% behind Restore - and strangely enough (but only strangely to globalists and self-harming empathisers) the unanimity exists among what is usually seen as class antagonists - one solicitor, one GP, a council house (semi-detached) with benefit recipients for genuine invalidity (autistic children and single mum), a brickie married to a nurse, an oil platform engineer, working shifts abroad, teachers, local Tesco shop assistants, etc. etc. etc. Yes, an a Chinese chef, ethnically Chinese and a gay couple!!!!

I live in a ‘nice’ area and the flags are still attached and flying gloriously.

Yes, luckily the ones in our town have been taken down but in the next town across they are all ragged, sometimes only about one quarter of them left. Hardly showing national pride.

Yes, they look bloody awful. Whether tatty like they are now, or when first put up. So deeply chavvy, and reminiscent of Nuremberg rally. Its possible to be patriotic without putting plastic tat on lampposts .

It doesn’t matter what flags they are. They look torn and dirty and make the place look shite. If that’s the look you’re going for you’ve achieved it.

They look crap and so do the roundabouts with flags painted on them.

They look ridiculous especially at half mast. if you want a flag put one up in your garden. But frankly I think it's all so childish. Do we really lack so much confidence as a nation that we have to put flags up everywhere?

I remember when Charles was crowned that a local street looked like Unionist Belfast with all the flags. They didn't paint the paving stones, thank goodness but I found it very off-putting. A bit of bunting would have sufficed.

Yes, they look disgusting. Partly because they've put up a year and are cheap faded, dirty frayed nylon. And partly because they have been put up as part of the disgusting Raise The Flags campaign started by a group of thugs and racists.

I lived in Belfast for two years. The most sectarian areas were clearly marked with flags and sometimes kerbstones. Never thought I'd see it in England in the same sort of way.

Never seen a Palestine flag on a lamppost or roundabout, so no.

I always think, imagine being married to a grown man who goes out at night to paint the kerbs red white and blue!

I have seen a lot of Israel flags from lamp posts though.
