The weather has changed for my holiday

Due to holiday in the south of France next week, and all along the long range forecast has been beautiful.

Now it’s changed. Rain every fucking day apart from the day I leave. I have to unpack all the beautiful dresses and clothes I’ve packed and change them out for rain jackets and boots. I’m fuming, I actually can’t believe it. It’s just my luck!

AIBU to just not want to go? I was due to do so many lovely day trips and now they’ll just be awful - damp and grey, any pictures I take will look awful. I just can’t believe it

Are you sure? We’re on holiday in the uk now. The day we left the weather decided to break. But we only had a couple of hours of ‘proper’ rain the first morning. Since then it’s been sunny daily even though long-range forecast was much wetter.
I found checking the rain radar on Met office website was the best indicator although still not 100% accurate.

Of course you can still go out - just take a mack and umbrella.
And how often are forecasts correct?

Why can’t you go out in the rain? There’s lots of benefits. Cooler/ less crowds/ easier to get seated in restaurants etc.
it’s rotten luck, but when it’s happened to me we just put our waterproofs on, take our umbrellas and get on with it!
Also, don’t rely on your phone App overview. It can say 60% chance and when you CLICK ON THE DAY ITSELF it’s at 6am!

South of France doesn't generally get the solid set-in low cloud we get in the UK. Rain can be good. I would change the focus to enjoying sightseeing rather than beach/sun.

The S of F is one of the most beautiful and interesting places to go. And the stifling August heat and humidity can make it very tough to do much. So there should be a silver lining.

Don’t want you to take this the wrong way- but- how fucking self involved can one person be? Half the country has burnt to the ground, people have lost their homes and livelihoods, and your concern is your holiday snaps will look a bit cloudy? Bit of perspective might help you appreciate that you get to have a holiday knowing you will likely return to normal life/work/family etc…

Have you checked the percentage risk of precipitation? On your photos it is just over 50% most days which means it may not rain at all! It will be warm and may be dry - keeping my fingers crossed for you.

OP next time book a holiday in Saudi Arabia or Yemen. I don't think they get pissing rain. And you'll get a tan. And your frizz will be minimal. Your social media followers will be delighted.

Have you actually understood the forecast op? It's going to be 27 degrees (which is warm) and there's only 50% chance of rain even on the worst day. The forecasts say there will be a little bit of rain....this means most of the day will be dry!

I use apple weather app and click on ‘precipitation’ view - it looks like very little rain on there and still time to change 🤷‍♀️
