Butt on display at lunch in south of France

flipperfizz · 11/08/2026 13:32

I am currently having lunch in a beach restaurant and a girl with a lovely toned body is wearing a tiny thong with full ass on display. This seems to be a fashion thing and there are lots of women wearing the same cheese cutter! People are staring and some women are laughing. I find it a horrible trend and I am wondering what others think.

I've never seen a 'bumhole' on the beach. I bet the pp hasn't either.

Well thank God for small mercies!

I find it sad too. I’m older and I’ve followed the various phases of feminism over the decades.

I get that feminist ideas change but I really think clothing like this is a backward step for women. It’s just too in line with what the sleaziest of men would like women to wear to be a good thing for us (women). It’s like asking a fox to design a hen coop.

And yes, I see the pernicious influence of porn and OnlyFans in some of these attitude changes.

I agree wholeheartedly.

'But I do think it’s fair to acknowledge that they leave very little to the imagination'

At a beach or a beach area it is fine. If it bothers you then eat away from where the seats are in the sand, that in itself should give you a clue.

'but lunch at a cafe…sarong, please, or other cover-up as a mark of respect to fellow diners'

How about a bit of respect for the woman? Staring and sniggering is awful.

If there was a dress code I'm sure the staff would've told the woman to cover up. They weren't bothered so neither should you be.

EstherGreenwood63 · 12/08/2026 16:58

So many BORING menz on here. 🥱 😂

The dress code is not an official one on a notice - it’s the natural consideration and courtesy you’d automatically feel towards fellow diners.

Or not, as the case may be.

Nothing faux about pointing out ridiculing women is not a good look. Disagree with choices fine just without the sneers.

flipperfizz · 12/08/2026 17:05

Thanks Gloriaa, going round in circles, and spectacularly missing the point again and trying to patronise me! But hey, I will eat where I choose to and hope that people have a sense of common decency and respect. Which is mostly the case here anyway.

The sneers and mockery are entirely in your imagination.

For the 100th time today.

But I get that you’re grasping at straws now…straw men, in fact.

Ive c&p examples of said mockery? Stop quoting me if you can't cope with the inconvenient truth.

The fact that she is wearing whatever the hell she wants to, not what others think she should be wearing! Probably not giving a second thought about anyone's opinion of her - That's why

Whatever her reasons, that's her CHOICE!* *Just like how you dress is yours!

My point is, if you don't like how someone is dressed, look away... Don't bitch about it, it's not a good look!

Whatever her reasons, that's her CHOICE! Just like how you dress is yours!

How I dress doesn't have hygiene implications for strangers though.

The CHOICE is to have a basically bare arse in the vicinity of food does.

Good. Eat where you choose. Let women wear what they choose. Chat to your dp <not about other women obviously> and everyone's happy.

We are allowed to quote whomever we like Gloria. I’m sorry if that annoys you.

I reserve the right to argue against your silly posts, accusing pps over and over and over again of sneering and mocking when it’s just not true.

You stop saying silly repetitive things and I’ll stop quoting you.

Of course you can quote whomever you like it looks silly when you say there's been no mockery when I've actually c&p examples of said mockery?

It's difficult I know when others can prove things but try to stop getting so exasperated at facts.

🤣🤣

That’s good advice. I’ll try not to get exasperated.

ItsGettingHotInHerre · 12/08/2026 17:58

We call them up the bum bikinis because they're not quite thongs but definitely don't cover bum cheeks. They always look so uncomfortable. Like they've got a wedgie they need to pull out. Like their bum has munched the material and they need to readjust.

We saw them about 5 years ago and decided they looked really uncomfortable then. But they're still quite popular. No accounting for taste!

Snufkin88 · 12/08/2026 18:10

Gloriia · 12/08/2026 10:20

But that is image and how people dress generally or else we'd all go about wearing scruffy clothes. So yes we all do put thought into how we present and if someone if very body confident and wants to wear a skimpy bikini in a beach eaterie it should not cause such judgement and outrage.

Live and let live. Some posters need to stop dressing up sneers as 'concern'.

To me a bum is considered a private part.

Snufkin88 · 12/08/2026 18:12

@Gloriia and im not “concerned” I just don’t want someone’s private parts in my view when im eating . I don’t care if people dress scruffy or flamboyantly or anything else . I just don’t particularly want to see private parts on display. They should go to a nudist beach if that’s how they want to dress

EstherGreenwood63 · 12/08/2026 18:13

@flipperfizz males. Heaps on this thread. Sometimes they like to use what they think are 'girly' usernames. Can't imagine why? 🤔

OonaStubbs · 12/08/2026 18:16

Are the men on this thread in favour of the thong bikinis or opposed to them?

She wasn't nude. Why would she go to a nudist beach?

Bums in skimpy bikini bottoms are not 'private parts on display'.

Snufkin88 · 12/08/2026 18:20

Cannot understand for the life of me why we are teaching young girls that bottoms are private parts in school . Then considering it “empowering “ to approve of women having their arses on full display in a cafe. What a world we live in .

A bum is widely considered a private part.
