To think Count Binface is doing a great job in the Clacton by-election?

Count down to Bin Day!

Count Binface has been out bigging-up Clacton and drawing attention to its potential.

It’s a really positive campaign.

I don’t think he’ll win but I’d love it if he did. I think he’d be brilliant.

And if he doesn’t, I think other candidates could learn a lot from his approach.

I think someone might have wandered in from the Daily Mail comments section. It's the only place I've ever seen 'Liebour'.

Count Binface - a Knight in Shining Armour vs a shite in whining armour…

Still not substantial enough to represent most of the country. Most of Mumsnet, most definitely.

Luckily the pollsters have done the researched for us and have concluded that a representative sample of the British public is backing the bin by a ratio of three-to-two.

Count isn’t a UK title so it doesn’t count.

I assure you that the Count does count.

Farage? Are we talking about the same person?

of course he can't fix anything. He has no real policies.

He's one smart guy, funny and a good communicator even in a 'persona'.

I had hysterics when they were discussing the Odyssey film, he went into lengthy Homeric Greek, Alaistair Campbell says something like "I wouldn't go round Clacton talking Latin " and Rory Stewart chips in "It was Greek, Alaistair".

I studied Greek (Koine not Classical) as part of my degree and am pants, utter pants. It is hard though. That degree of fluency shows a really bright mind. I'm not sure when it was decided that being good at eg ancient languages was some sort of deficit, but it isn't.

He did a podcast (as Jon Harvey) for BBC called Could an Ancient Athenian Fix Britain? comparing British and Athenian democracy, and what we could learn from the Athenian system.

He was also on the (as Binface) and chatted with Mary Beard and Charlotte Higgins about democracy and classics.

He comes across as not only smart and funny, but as a really down to earth and humble person who's a bit of a champion for democracy.

My previous reply has been hidden because it included a word beginning with "c" which refers to digital currencies.

That's weird, I'm sure I've been hearing about Reforms policies for the last 2 years, maybe I'm going mad. Tell you what, let's just stick with the same policies Labour and Tories have have given us for the last 40 years because this country has done so well because of them.

Given he can’t be arsed to do the basics of his job as an MP he’s unlikely to be engaged in actually making things better for anyone but himself and his crapto mates.

Sure, we'll see from the by election how well he's been doing. As for his crypto mates, I would rather settle for that than all the other fraudulent, corrupt, useless money grabbing "politicians" we've had for decades.

What like his pushing for Brexit did?

Yeah that “fix” that was promised worked well.

it worked so well it created the small boats problem that he’s now using to keep him relevant. So yes, I guess it worked well for him.
