To ask if anyone has had a boob job and how it went?

Please don’t respond by telling me not to do this and reminding me what women are far more than just their bodies because that is obviously true and I know that…. I just want to feel happy and attractive in my own body, and currently I don’t.

I've always had really tiny boobs (28C/30B which actually looks like an A cup) and have always really disliked them. I know it's really silly but I just feel like less of a woman with them being this small. They used to be even smaller when I had anorexia years ago as a teen, they were a 28B (looks like a small A).

I want to be seen as sexy and desirable by the right man and I don’t see that happening with small breasts. Please don’t say sexiness is an attitude because we all know there is a strong visual element to it for men, it’s clear, and boobs are a big draw for them.

I just want some cleavage. Has anyone had breast implants and how did it go?

thanks. X

I had mine done 20 years ago! I don't regret it. However even though I'm not thin anymore, sometimes I do wish I'd gone a bit smaller. I was an A cup at the time, I think if I hadn't I'd be a B now naturally, after children. I do think one day they'll need to be taken out etc. Although I haven't had any problems.

If you want it done, then do it. Friends I know who've also had implants haven't regretted it. So no regrets, I've always felt my overall figure looked better and more balanced with them.

I have small breasts (34A) and I have never had any problems attracting men. And despite going out with some horrendously awful men in my younger years, I never had a single one of these men criticise my boobs or make me feel like my breasts weren’t enough. I’ve been with my dh for 21 years and over this time I’ve mentioned on and off that maybe I should get a boob job and his answer has always been the same…”You have beautiful breasts…don’t ruin your body for something you don’t need”. Men aren’t all attracted to the exact sane body type, just as women aren’t either.

If you want to get a breast enlargement for yourself that is one thing, OP, but don’t get one just for the benefit of men. Attraction is so much more than breast size and it’s sad that you think you need to change your body for someone to be attracted to you.

I agree. It would likely be the wrong type of man you’d be attracting.

Why? Because women with a larger bust inevitably attract the wrong kind of man?

It sounds like you wouldn’t be getting surgery for yourself, but for a potential man you haven’t even met yet.

So, I’ll let you in on a conversation I overheard at the gym.

Men, chatting about a petite woman in the gym who had a boob job (it was obviously a natural one as I hadn’t noticed) and their comment on her went something like this:
“have you seen X has had a boob job?”

“Well obviously, they don’t grow like that overnight”

”I didn’t realise she was a go-er”

”me neither, might have to throw my hat in the ring with her, see if I can cop a feel.”

So yes, you’re right. Men do notice and (some) definitely like the “enhanced” look, but those same men then assume that you’re up for sex, as in they don’t suddenly see you as someone they would like a relationship with, they see you as someone to fuck.

Again, not all men, but I was quite surprised by the above convo, not least because this woman was waaaaay out of these men’s league (before and after surgery) but these losers only thought they had a chance with her once they knew she’d had surgery; it devalued her in their eyes.

Of course you did.

If you were doing this for yourself, I would be more supportive and say do it as I have loads of friends who had theirs done and are v v happy. Your self esteem seems to be tied to what men desire which means this is an issue within yourself.. Kindly, address that first before you alter your body for the attention of a man.

No.. because if that's the only thing they are interested in.

I agree - if a man prefers large breasts at a physical level there’s nothing wrong with that, it is what it is, doesn’t make him a bad person. I’d like to either avoid men like that (I want my partner to find me sexy, and that won’t be the case if he prefers large breasts), or change my current, natural breasts if I want to.

Have you looked into fat transfer?

I don’t think I’d be a suitable candidate as I don’t have much body fat.

OP posts:
peppy23 · 12/08/2026 11:25

I wouldn’t bother paying ££££ for fat transfer. Unlikely to last long. The fat you actually keep is about 50-70% of what was transferred. The rest is reabsorbed by your body

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 12/08/2026 14:15

My surgeon also didn’t rate fat transfers because you don’t get a predictable result (due to reabsorption of a decent % of it). My friend had a combined implant and fat transfer and she has a small cliff where the fat was taken from her lower abdomen

Thank you. I think I am partly doing this for myself; I have my own idea of what would look good for me on my body, but obviously that’s been mediated by the society I’ve grown up and which I’m in right now. Is anyone who has cosmetic surgery 100% doing this for themselves, or does part of it ultimately boil down to an internalised idea of attractiveness?

No.. because if that's the only thing they are interested in.

It doesn’t have to be the only thing, shouldn’t be for a serious relationship, but it’s fine for it to play a part, and realistically it does.

I had mine done 24 years ago. I was less than AA, couldn't even get bras to fit let alone clothes, I have big hips and felt disproportionate. I had under the muscle placement and am a D cup. If I did it again I would go a bit smaller but I don't regret it, have had no issues, and haven't needed further surgery. I also recently had a mammogram and it was no issue for that either.

Thanks for sharing this. So you haven’t had your implants replaced since you had them done? That’s great.

I definitely did it for myself and not for a man, however I do think we are influenced by media.

As a teen, I was for example, obsessed with Baywatch and thought Pamela Anderson was beautiful. Even the plastic surgeon asked 'do you want Baywatch style implants - i.e round rather than teardrop. So even if not intentionally influenced, media does pay a factor.

I agree and I think I’m in the same boat; I am doing it for myself and how I feel about my body, but I have been (like many others) influenced by the media.

I don't think I've previously mentioned I do have a numb nipple! The sensation never came back. It does go 'cold' but is less sensitive. I don't regret the surgery though.

Even in my 40's now, I can go braless. I'm a D cup and they don't sag at all. They must have dropped a little bit but I've never noticed.

Like many others have said, maybe I should have gone a bit smaller (even though I'm a bigger dress size all around now).

If I ever had to have them taken out and re done, and yes I'm aware many of us sadly get breast cancer too, I'd go for a C cup.

Bear in mind most people, well me anyway, went from a size 6 in my teens to size 10 now and breasts change.

IsItBeesThoughLooshkin · 16/08/2026 00:37

My Dsis loves hers. Her boyfriend couldn’t care less as he’s more interested in large curvy butts, apparently. But she’s happy and that’s what matters. Do it for yourself if you want to. I’m an A-cup and could easily afford implants but I don’t want any.

I didn’t do it for a man either and I wasn’t consciously influenced by the media. I did it for me and I suppose it was pure vanity. I wanted my top half to be more in proportion to my bottom half. I had been wearing a heavily padded bra for several years. Nobody except DH actually noticed I’d had a boob job because I didn’t look any different. I was quite conservative on the implant size.

DH was happy with me as I was and I had to convince him that they wouldn’t end up looking obviously fake. He doesn’t like large anything.

No, and I haven't had any issues with them at all. I had my first mammogram a few weeks ago and that went well.

The point is that if your partner isn’t going to attracted to you if you don’t have a boob job.. well what kind of partner is that.

MademoisellePraline · 16/08/2026 18:36

Yes I see what you’re saying - a partner who is only interested in women with large breasts for that reason would be a pretty boring, one dimensional partner. However the fact remains that on a purely physical level, most (or at least very many) men seem to prefer large breasts…. And if a woman with small wants her partner to be physically attracted to her, including her bust, then I don’t think it’s unreasonable to want breast implants.
