AIBU to be deeply concerned about the recent influx of 30k+ undocumented arrivals in Spain?

AIBU to feel really unsettled by the recent news coming out of Spain and Ceuta? Reports are showing that tens of thousands of undocumented migrants have crossed over in such a short window, completely overwhelming local infrastructure, reception centers, and security forces.

I know migration is always a sensitive and compassionate topic, but looking at these numbers practically, I don't see how any European border region can absorb 30,000 to 50,000 arrivals almost overnight without severe strain on public resources, local housing, and emergency services.

What worries me even more is the precedent it sets for the rest of Europe and the UK down the line. Surely there has to be a firm balance between humanitarian support and actual, enforceable border control?

Am I being completely unreasonable to view this as a serious policy and security crisis, or are others feeling equally concerned about where this leads?

Would love to hear honest thoughts on how this should actually be handled!

Strong evidence that these “migrants” might be being paid by Morocco to create a crisis / embarrass the Spanish government to punish them for their stance wrt Israel. Morocco did something similar when Spain took in some Moroccan political opponent for medical treatment.

Thanks to global warming which the richest countries cause and refuse to do anything about their countries are going to get increasingly less viable but still we do nothing. It’s shameful and we can’t have it both ways.

The UK has decarbonised a lot.

But still some far right numbskulls unbelievably want to pull out of net zero even though most of the rest of the world are committed. And then they whine when incidents like this happen. You couldn’t make it up!

You don’t really need a poll, it’s pretty simple, if someone crosses 12 different safe European countries to get to the UK then they are economic migrants not refugees.

Yeah, that’s not how it works.

Why flee Morocco? And why should the average UK citizen have to put up with them. I certainly don't want them around us

Who is ‘them’? It’s people like you I don’t really want around me to be honest.

Oh, so you’d rather be dropped in amongst 50,000 Moroccan men than be around one, presumably female, poster? Really?

ShautyMels · 01/08/2026 19:22

As in why should the UK citizens have to deal and put up with and fund the lives of illegal immigrants?

It was a US/Israeli plan. Morocco is one of Israel's biggest allies. They back Morocco's claim to Western Sahara so Morocco does this for them in order to punish Spain for their stance against Israel's actions in Gaza and for refusing to allow US military to use their bases when attacking Iran.

I have no problem being around refugees and vulnerable migrants - it’s what I do for living.

However, being around people who demonstrate such little compassion towards others - that’s something I can do without.

They were until they became governed by another numbskull and will be committed again when he goes.

Like those “migrants” who rape, stab and murder British citizens? Well I sure as hell wouldn’t like to be around people like you if these are the type you’re defending!!

Try to wrap your head around this....not all migrants are murderers.

I actually liked the energy policy in his first term. This term he's really messed the world up. But in the first term his policy his policy made the USA an energy exporter and massively helped the economy.

Never said they were… but the amount of lefties who defend those who do stab, rape and murder is quite frankly disgusting! So try to wrap your head around that!

But on per capita data migrants from these regions have a higher propensity to commit crime. - and this gets ignored

So are you… the same person who said climate change is a reason to have illegal migration. Oh and I thought you said you were “done with me”. Obviously not.
I cannot be arsed with anymore of your leftist ideology, although it’s been hilarious watching you tie yourself in knots trying to defend thousands of migrants illegally entering a country.
So silly its laughable

Of course. It gets ignored because it doesn’t suit the lefty narrative.
