AIBU to worry about large numbers of undocumented men arriving in Spain?

1000 replies

MaturingCheeseball · 30/07/2026 17:34

Thousands of young men from Morocco and beyond swimming to Spain. Spain obviously has encouraged the problem with their amnesty for existing migrants, but thousands more arriving with no means of support and undocumented is going to cause huge problems. Large numbers will no doubt be ultimately trying to reach the UK.

It’s harsh, but we cannot accept infinite numbers of men.

They’ll be attracted to France because of the common language. Then when they realise how unwelcoming and ungiving France is, they’ll head here.

Or alternatively Spain will return them to Morocco. Let's see what happens, but I would be very surprised if thousands of these Moroccan people turn up in the UK.

We could of course stop spending billions on pets, tax the obvious companies exploiting our market, stop creating havoc in the Middle East and supporting a genocide, and demonising our disabled….desperate people looking for a safe place don’t worry me so much.

Apart from all the other nonsense in your post what about Morocco is "unsafe" that they would suddenly produce 49,000 "desperate people looking for a safe place" ??? 🙄

All anyone can talk about round are way is potholes ? You must live in a well run town.

JulietteHasAGun · 31/07/2026 10:20

Apparently they’re smashing windows of houses and gaining entry and then swarming in en masse. I saw a video which certainly seems to back this up.

population of 80,000 and 20,000 people with nowhere to sleep appears in one day. Think about the village or town where you live and imagine suddenly an extra 25% people in your town or village. With no housing, food, money or support and they start climbing up ladders and smashing windows in the night and going in the houses. What if you’d been away and came back and found 50 men in your house? What if you’d been in bed and they still broke in?

left-wing people by and large are not dog people. In the mornings I often pass this stringy couple out jogging. They always wear virtue-signalling t-shirts: “I’m running to end world hunger” (!) , “Run Green” and other (always green) t-shirts with similar slogans. The woman theatrically glares and shies away from Dog. He’s not in the least interested in them and doesn’t like eating green things anyway…

First you are wildly exaggerating about "infinite men" and now here you are extrapolating one couple to "left wing people by and large". You are really ridiculous 😂

LakieLady · 31/07/2026 10:14

A lot of those "non-white" people could be British born and bred, so that's not necessarily an indicator of immigration. Someone who came to the UK from the Caribbean in 1948 could easily have 4 generations of descendants now, all UK born.

I have a friend of South Asian heritage whose India-born great-grandfather came to the UK not long after the end of the first world war. Said friend is now a grandfather himself, and his GCs are brown, just like him and his forebears, and are all UK-born.

I think racists generally don't differentiate between "new" and "old" immigrants.

This is soooo random. What else left wing people genrally do, kick pigeons? Stomp on butterflies?

...I don't need to welcome any Moroccan men into my home!

I don't mind some of my taxes going towards social assistance to undocumented migrants if that is what you mean.

...I don't need to welcome any Moroccan men into my home!

And there you have it. The Luxury Belief de jour. But they have to be housed somewhere don't they, very often in residential areas, so are you saying you're ok with having them housed close to where you live, close to your church, and in the vicinity of your children's school?

I don't mind some of my taxes going towards social assistance to undocumented migrants

That's interesting. Would you still "not mind" if you knew that many of those migrants had thrown all their documentation into the sea before arriving here? They even film themselves doing it and laugh about it. What if you knew they were undocumented solely because they had deliberately destroyed their own documents, knowing that proving their identity would be more of a hindrance than an advantage to their claim?

TaleOfTwoHalves · 31/07/2026 10:25

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 30/07/2026 19:41

I never get this argument. Yes we have enough of our own arseholes that we can’t do anything about, so let’s just let in more undocumented men from places where people don’t visit/go anywhere near for a reason, where women are treated like second class citizens, and homosexuality is a no no, as a starter for ten for potential problems.

Because you know, the majority of rapists are white men so it’s ok. 🙄

Make that make sense.

I think exactly the same. Like two wrongs suddenly make a right. It’s basic maths.

If you have enough of your own wrong people, why import more?

madness.

It is an invasion at this point. I’ve seen the footage. Wow is all I can say at this point.

Random on all sides. Would you agree with a poster advising UK citizens to stop spending money on their pets? Totally fucking random in my eyes.

🤣 you have surpassed yourself with this. Left wing people by and large don't like dogs because one woman you encounter shies away from your beloved pooch?

There is apparently an app with notifications when sea conditions are good/border control lax

This what is happening in France.
There are also lovvey lefties helping these migrants in the camps in France coaching them and telling them how to "beat the system".

But where are they going to live? It’s OK to say you don’t mind paying a bit more tax (I do though) but..where and how will they be housed?

We’rte told there’s already a housing crisis in the UK. We’re a small island with a dense population (5 x more dense than France, for example).

Seriously - tell me your practical scheme for housing as many as wish to come. I would be very interested to know.

i don’t think you offering a few more pence in the pound of tax will go very far.

They need to offer them accommodation.

Otherwise it IS just virtue signalling.

Shakeoffyourchains · 31/07/2026 10:35

Interestingly, there has been an effort by various actors to loby the Trump administration to recognise Ceuta (and Melilla) as Moroccan territory, ever since Spain refused to allow the US to use its airspace during the Iran conflict.

Back March, just after spain closed their air space to the US, the AEI published an article that said that "Moroccans should gather, send bulldozers to the border, and then enter Ceuta and Melilla unarmed to raise the flag. Sánchez and the Spanish press bleat, but they have no grounds to act. Nor, for that matter, would NATO, even if Moroccan forces entered the towns to restore order and organise the dispatch of settlers across the Strait of Gibraltar and back to Spain."

While, Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart submitted a report to the House stating that the US should recognise that Ceuta and Melilla are subject to longstanding Moroccan claims, and that the administration should encourage negotiations between Morocco and Spain over their future.

Makes you wonder...

I do stand by this! It’s not just the “green” couple; I didn’t say all left-wing people, but there is most definitely a skew. And actually my comment was in response to the poster suggesting we spent less on our pets so there’s one example for you.

In Ireland where we’re extremely lucky and privileged. If my son is pushed to emlist fight etc etc, if the uk or Ireland becomes unliveable in, would you honestly not be telling your brothers, sons etc to get out? I hate the bias against men sometimes, yes I get they’re more dangerous but I think not all men is relevant too

Men may be ok. As pp above said, I am wary of undocumented single men- excepting genuine refugees- as they are more likely to be criminals.
I don't think " not all men' is relevant here.

And more than 700(!!!!) arrived here via the channel today

Yes but the numbers reaching the UK are a fraction of those reaching Italy, Greece, France Spain etc. every single day.

But Poland isn’t an island. If we had a massive fence with armed guards and no HRA and no Supreme Court then yeah we could do what they do but if a dinghy full of human beings are in the channel and about to sink we have an obligation to go and save them. And thanks to Brexit we can’t just send them back to France.

I think there are some people who wouldn't object to razor wire on our beaches if it kept asylum seekers out.

Not long ago, I tried explaining to some of my anti-immigration ILs how the Brexit they voted for made it harder for the UK to send migrants back and thus encouraged asylum seekers to come here.

They flatly refused to accept this, until I found stats online that showed the numbers arriving prior to Jan 2020 were negligible, and the subsequent year on year increases. They then started whingeing that "no-one told them" this would happen. I can distinctly remember the late Mr L and I pointing this out as a post-Brexit possibility in the run-up to the referendum and they didn't believe us.

Selling Brexit as a way of reducing immigration was possibly one of the biggest con tricks ever, and anyone who voted for it and is angry about irregular immigration has only themselves to blame.

I don’t think it’s that the government is unbothered, it’s just extremely difficult to deal with.

Its not though is it?
We are an island. It should be easy to secure out borders and send people away.
Australia manages it.
