But with all the shit in the world going on, and true escapism is anyone else thoroughly excited about the "potential" TS/TK nuptials?

I was also confused to why there in such a central location. Celebration weddings are often hidden away somewhere. I’m presuming this is the party and they are already married.

Supposedly the streets were blocked for seven blocks around MSG. That is really disruptive in such a populated city.

I’m in a couple of minds about this. If it is a decoy wedding, taking over such a large chunk of Manhattan seems a bit inconsiderate. But on the other hand, they have spent a lot of money and it’s getting plugged into the local economy.

I'm not a huge fan of her music but I think she's a fantastic role model. I hope they have many years of happiness together.

She is, quite simply, the best singer-songwriter of her generation.

I don't think Travis is a good match for her, though. I have no idea what she sees in him. A year or two ago, he was caught on camera physically shoving his coach, face red and distorted in anger, forehead vein popping. Nice. He drinks too much, he carried on partying after there was a shooting after one of his games that injured 22 people, and misogynistic, fat-shaming, tweets of his have been unearthed - full of misspellings - plus his lovely opinion that if sex didn't happen by the third date, it was a dealbreaker. 🤮 He wanted no strings attached with Swift at first. Just wanted to use her for sex, in other words. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, HE'S NOT EVEN GOOD-LOOKING!!!

Taylor is way too good for him. She had wanted marriage and kids for a long time, and I think he was a mid-thirties panic buy. Of course she still had lots of time, but if you want to be married with kids and you're single in your mid-thirties, I can see how someone might be worried.

All this is to say, I don't think he is in ANY way good enough for her.

Better to be invested in a talented singer-songwriter's wedding than many other interests in people such as those on Love Island or some other reality show.

Whether it is a decoy or the real thing, I hope they have a long happy life together.

I thought it was a decoy but it makes sense. Loads of space, no drones or helicopters and they can keep it secure. I think Taylor said something about how it would be too hard to have a small guest list. They may as well embrace it. It would have been miserable if they'd tried to cordon off a pretty small town for it.

I am just stunned to discover that Madison Square Garden is a big concrete stadium, with a circular exterior, and not a lovely shaded treelined park in the centre of New York, with a stage for major stars like Dylan to come and do small sets for invited fans, as I'd fondly pictured it when mentioned over the years.

Me too! 🤣 I don't feel so embarrassed about that now!
I'd imagined it as a lovely intimate outdoor venue.
