I don’t think you understand what feminism is.
Feminism can be all of those things you describe. You can be a feminist who fights for equality for women but also likes /wants a fairytale wedding.
You can be a feminist and take an interest in fashion, celebrity lifestyle and call out misogyny and sexism when you see it.
I’m a feminist, I research and write about feminism and support women to strive for equality as part of my job. I also like fashion, pop music, wearing pink, getting my nails done etc. That doesn’t stop me being a feminist.
I couldn’t care less whether you’re a fan of hers or not, really I don’t care. But your comments are distinctly anti feminist and in my opinion misogynistic. They’re also factually incorrect. That’s what I have an issue with.
You describe her songs as vacuous - very rarely do we hear men described as vacuous. That’s what makes it misogynistic whether that was your intention or not. The number of awards she’s received would suggest her music is far from vacuous.
You criticise her for writing songs about her ex’s - again plenty of men do this but I never see them criticised for it. Plus you’ve ignored the many posters who’ve pointed out she also writes songs about other topics and there are whole albums which don’t feature a song about an ex. But invites that didn’t fit your narrative.
You criticise what she’s wearing. Again, that’s misogyny 101. It’s common knowledge that women are scrutinised and judged by their appearance in a way that men never are. That’s what makes it misogynistic.
Your categorisation of her fans is also incorrect. Shes not my favourite artist by a long shot and genuinely don’t care if someone doesn’t like her or her music. But you didn’t just say that. You decided to use well worn out misogynistic comments and attempted to belittle her fans. That’s certainly not feminism.
