But with all the shit in the world going on, and true escapism is anyone else thoroughly excited about the "potential" TS/TK nuptials?

I find I'm far too invested! Pathetic to be so interested? Very possibly but I don't care!

I think she will share photos in time.

Nobody owes anyone a photo. Doesn’t matter how famous you are.

I'm a fan of her music and I think she seems like a really decent human being. I don't think she owes me- or anyone else- every detail of her personal life. Regardless of the dress she wore, I'm sure she looked beautiful and I hope they had a wonderful day.

I was thinking she'd go full on ball gown type dress but then I thought that is what she wears at her concerts so maybe it would a bit like wearing her work clothes for her.

So now I think it will be very simple and plain and classic.

I didn't ask for every detail of her personal life, did I? She's clearly going to show photos and film of her wedding but is meanly keeping them locked down, probably to make people pay to see them. And she's one of the biggest stars in the world. Of COURSE fans want to see a photo of her in her dress. I really do not think that that qualifies as wanting "every detail of her personal life." What a stupid thing to say.

I disagree in this case. She is a public figure. Her fans being interested in her is what's put her where she is. You can't be OK with fans paying for your music and your merch and your concert tickets and then get all precious when they want to see a photo of you in your wedding dress.

Sure, bringing the world’s press to a rural area with limited police resources would be a brilliant idea. 👍

@MickyMoonshine AND she has a habit of planting "Easter eggs" - i.e. clues - in everything she does, to get more attention and give her fans even more to obsess over. But we're not allowed to want to see a photo of her on one of the most significant days of her life. Give over!

Course she does. She's been Easter-egging Dior for a while. And it turned out her gown was Dior. And her songs are all about her personal life - the time when her bf stood her up at her twenty-first, the scarf that's still at her lover's sister's house...the references to her personal life are truly endless!

Well, at least we know you have heard one TS song, only one though by the sounds of it given both your lyrical references being to All Too Well, which is more than can be said for some of the posters trashing her entire musical catalogue while never having actually listened to it.
I don't know why you would be so scandalised that a musician might write about things that happened in their own lives though, isn't that pretty universal?

I'm a big fan of TS and have listened to most of her music. And I'm not scandalised by the Easter eggs - I think they're fun. You need to read the conversation to understand the context of my post.

It wouldn't matter WHO was President. The fact that it's the 250th year of independence, it would be celebrated no matter what.

I work in an intensive care unit. A great many of us like Taylor Swift and quite a number went to see the Eras tour.

We’re doing pretty well at resuscitating people for a living for a group of such silly vacuous women.

It IS being celebrated. But Trump’s American State Fair has had a lot of issues and sparse attendance. This expensive boondoggle is just a celebration of Trump himself. Some of the vendors are weird and some are crazy. Like the guy who thought the Salem witch trials were a good idea, but the people in charge should have been “more organized”. A MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) booth that featured a video encouraging women to eat healthy and work out so they’d prepare to be wives and mothers. Because, you know, that’s the only reason to eat well and exercise. I’ll be damned pleased if this wedding or anything upstages this embarrassment to the US, instead of feeding the outrageous ego of the criminally dangerous, ignorant, narcissistic sexual predator currently in office. The real celebrations of the 250th will be local ones held by ordinary people.

You’re allowed to want to see a picture of her but she’s also allowed to decide when she chooses to share that picture, if at all.

I have to correct this ‘half naked’ accusation. She famously never shows her belly button in photos. Her Eras tour bodysuits are cut like boy shorts. And they are, well, bodysuits not bikinis.

I came late to TS music and when I didn’t know anything about her music I absolutely thought it was vacuous pop songs for 9 year old girls. There are a few, including a few knee jerk missteps (I’d include You Need To Calm Down there which seemed like a quick response to accusations that she was anti/didn’t support LGB communities).

But she’s a bloody brilliant songwriter. Storyteller. Poet. I was surprised at the lyricism and depth of much of her music.

I don’t care much about her life, but her music is objectively brilliant:

She has won over 740 awards throughout her career, including 14 Grammy Awards, 40 American Music Awards, and 49 Billboard Music Awards. She is the only artist in history to win Album of the Year at the Grammys four times.

The rest is just personal taste, at best; misogyny at worst.

Let’s allow the woman to have her actual wedding event before sharing a photo though, eh?! She didn’t have to pop out and release a picture. They’re probably still asleep 🤣🤣
