What's pissing us all off today?

What's pissing me off today is a misogynistic man trying to throw me under a bus today on Teams in front of 30 colleagues ranging from my level to five levels above me.

I had messages from five different people during the call asking if I was OK.

The man is like bloody Teflon - no grievances seem to stick to him. I left work early and went the pub with the dog. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

I'm here to ask for solidarity for anyone else who is thoroughly pissed off today and see if we can fume together.

Batshit messages from a school Mum I barely even know.

Mimilamore · 01/07/2026 20:59

Trying not to glance across at my husband ramming crisps into his mouth as if it were a mincer and losing most of them on the floor….

I’m pissed off that the overpaid VC (who gets paid a grand a day) and the board of my university have decided to change the structure of our colleges and roles with a lack of transparency. Nothing will change for the students but for the overworked and underpaid professsional services staff the uncertainty of our future is quite horrible.

I’m sorry you have to go through this.
Unfortunately, this sector has a long history of form on undemocratic and frankly, cruel management style.

Cel77 · 01/07/2026 21:08

My stupid ,slow computer.
Having to pay to add my signature on a PDF document .
The dog misbehaving.
No clean pants in the house. Having to do a late night wash.
Always being in my overdraft.
Tech issues at work and home.

Ihateboris · 01/07/2026 21:14

I'm pissed off that I got stuck in my lift today with my dog who kept farting. Fortunately I had my phone so was able to call the fire brigade to rescue me. Still very fucking frightening though! I'm never going to use the lift again 😕

Hoarder parent died and had hoarded the house, the garden shed, two lofts, two vehicles, two other sheds, two huge garages, my neighbours shed.rear of my garden.
Mainly heavy things like boxes of tools etc
I'm so overwhelmed with it all.

We recently had Emmaus charity do a house clearance after a parent died. They cleared everything from large house, garage, shed and the loft (oh my God the loft!!). They were absolutely brilliant. Took everything and nothing was too big or too difficult. Yes you have to pay but the pressure and stress relief was worth every penny.

toriaplum · 01/07/2026 21:21

Quietly seething at school parents who are complaining on what's app about the y6 leavers party.

It's too expensive
Hotdogs and pizza isn't good enough,
We should have organised group transport/ party bus. (Venue is at most 3 minute drive away from school)

None of the parents providing these "helpful" suggestions, 2 days before the event have offered to help set up, supervise at event or tidy up.

DH is pissing me off by telling me he told me this would happen when I offered to help back in Nov. 😡

WhereDoBrokenHeartsGo · 01/07/2026 21:39

I’m pissed off that I’m going on holidays next week 🤣 I’m really looking forward to it and I have a full month off work but I’m irrationally pissed off about something I can’t identify that sets me of every time I think of it

GreenFootstool · 01/07/2026 21:46

Update is that Teflon man will shortly be recommended for a sideways move. He pissed off too many people yesterday by the looks of it.

He also ran away when I tried to speak to him today. Coward.

Cross fingers it happens!

I'm pissed off, that nothing ever seems to work out for my ND young adult daughter. Nothing she tries to do ever works out. Yesterday was particularly shitty after being told she had yet again failed her maths exam (4 attempts at GCSE, then functional skills), she was then dismissed from her work placement a week after being told she needed to improve, but not being told specifically what she needed to do to improve. She is completely done with everything.

JaceLancs · 01/07/2026 21:49

Work related
People who keep changing their minds
People who move the goal posts constantly
People who don’t do what they said they would do
Can you tell I’ve had a bad day?

WilfredsPies · 01/07/2026 22:09

Work, family, the heat, peri menopause symptoms and a couple of acquaintances. They can all fuck off.

Livpool · 01/07/2026 22:18

I dislocated my jaw yawning…dislocated before so maybe easier than most. I am hungry and fed up…

RunningJo · 01/07/2026 22:24

I haven’t ran pain free for almost a year. Absolutely fed up of it now and even considering that my running ‘career’ may be over

Gotback · 01/07/2026 22:35

Pissed off with myself. My life is a mess because I'm a lazy procrastinator. Attempted Fresh Start Number 6,029 only 10 days ago & it's already gone to pot.

Pissed off with neighbours who have just started up their noisy hot tub at midnight underneath my open window 🤬 They now have to shout to make themselves heard so I’m also treated to their inane conversation and barky dog.

How selfish at this time of night

PotatoLove · 02/07/2026 01:13

Lack of money, perimenopause, body and head pains. Oh, and the shitting heat.

Ohthedaffodils · 02/07/2026 01:34

Outside our house we’ve got a team of electricians digging the road to fix an electrical cable….at 1am. They woke my little grandson up at 9pm (he has autism and global developmental delay) and he’s only just gone back to sleep.
I know it’s necessary but it has pissed me off.
At least my dd has had a decent sleep tonight (in her own home).

DanielleTheSpanielle · 01/07/2026 03:09

We had hundreds in our loft and walls - the smell passes very quickly! Make sure you get a professional exterminator to come and find where they got in to your house and block it up so you don’t get a second infestation like we did - it was even worse than the first one 😕

Wow. That makes my ants in the kitchen look like very small fry. But I’m still massively pissed off at the squirmy little bastards, and DH didn’t help by leaving a ripe banana with a nick in the skin on the countertop, then asking “What’s wrong?” in bemusement as I was clearing away the mass of squirmy little bastards around it and swearing.

CannotBeBothered01 · 02/07/2026 01:48

My DD (she's 17, in Year 12) blaming me her PE kit wasn't washed and had to do the PE lesson in her actual knickers 😳
Like she couldn't stand up for herself and say no, let alone wash her PE kit herself 🤷‍♂️

I’m pissed and haven’t been able to sleep for days!

My mum was diagnosed with a terminal illness last week. She is now oxygen‑dependent 24/7 and has extremely limited strength — she cannot stand, cook, or manage basic daily tasks.

When I visited her at the weekend, her living conditions were deeply concerning. She lives with an alcoholic partner, and there is a feral dog in the home that makes it unsafe for visitors or carers. My mum was sleeping on a filthy mattress placed directly on bare, dirty floorboards.

I did what I could during my visit: we decorated her main living spaces, laid carpets, and built her a proper bed. Her partner is unable to help due to severe gout caused by his alcohol addiction, and my sibling is not currently providing support.
I live 3.5 hours away.

My mum needs daily assistance, but she is emotionally dependent on her partner and refuses to leave. I could potentially work from Scotland, but she has no internet access and no space for me to stay.

The only nearby family accommodation is my cousin’s home, which is nearly two hours away by public transport each way. Meanwhile, my husband, children, and life are here.

I have contacted all relevant services, and she is now on waiting lists, but I am extremely worried about her welfare — particularly her ability to feed herself and remain safe in her current environment.

I'm so sorry. Your poor mum. How heartbreaking for you.

I'm pissed off that while we're in the middle of decorating, umpteen family members at umpteen different times drop in for a cuppa.
FUCK OFF TO COSTA!

Drop in unannounced while I am doing a job like that and I'll give them a paintbrush or a job!

My family have a habit of dumping everything in the washbin that was sitting around in their bedrooms - the day before we go away. Either I do it all that day, when I've got other things to organise (plus there is too much washing to fit on the line) or I leave it till we get back, and return to a pile of holiday washing plus a pile of pre-holiday washing.

(And yes, it will be me doing it, I seem to be the washing fairy.)

If they're older than 12 then old enough to do their own laundry!!

I did... also great way for them to learn to think ahead and be organised.

Only things I didnt wash myself were bedsheets and towels. But my own clothes and school uniform - my responsibility from 12.
