What's pissing us all off today?

What's pissing me off today is a misogynistic man trying to throw me under a bus today on Teams in front of 30 colleagues ranging from my level to five levels above me.

I had messages from five different people during the call asking if I was OK.

The man is like bloody Teflon - no grievances seem to stick to him. I left work early and went the pub with the dog. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

I'm here to ask for solidarity for anyone else who is thoroughly pissed off today and see if we can fume together.

Day 12 of the summer virus from hell. No signs of improvement - just switching from symptom to symptom. I could cry.

Hoping you recover soon x

The weather. Another heatwave next week. My perimeno body can’t take another 30 plus degree week sweating just getting dressed in the morning. And taking care of two young children in the heat

It’s no fun, I have ten temperature variations, ( done menopause, now Parkinson’s the cause).
Drinking lots of cold water helps, pure cotton bedding helps me, hopefully you’re not in pain, often get aches myself

I’m pissed and haven’t been able to sleep for days!

My mum was diagnosed with a terminal illness last week. She is now oxygen‑dependent 24/7 and has extremely limited strength — she cannot stand, cook, or manage basic daily tasks.

When I visited her at the weekend, her living conditions were deeply concerning. She lives with an alcoholic partner, and there is a feral dog in the home that makes it unsafe for visitors or carers. My mum was sleeping on a filthy mattress placed directly on bare, dirty floorboards.

I did what I could during my visit: we decorated her main living spaces, laid carpets, and built her a proper bed. Her partner is unable to help due to severe gout caused by his alcohol addiction, and my sibling is not currently providing support.
I live 3.5 hours away.

My mum needs daily assistance, but she is emotionally dependent on her partner and refuses to leave. I could potentially work from Scotland, but she has no internet access and no space for me to stay.

The only nearby family accommodation is my cousin’s home, which is nearly two hours away by public transport each way. Meanwhile, my husband, children, and life are here.

I have contacted all relevant services, and she is now on waiting lists, but I am extremely worried about her welfare — particularly her ability to feed herself and remain safe in her current environment.

Wide awake at 4am this morning. Finally gave up trying to get back to sleep & came downstairs to make coffee. 30 minutes & a coffee later, I am feeling less annoyed & considerably more relaxed.

DH gets up a little while later (he was snoring & deeply asleep when I left the bedroom). I gently decline his offer of a hug…because I’m feeling irritable and menopausal AF & don’t want to be touched. This is apparently unacceptable and leads to much heavy sighing, thereby undoing all of the nice relaxing feelings I was experiencing & leading me away from my book and relaxing thoughts, straight to MN to moan about it 🥴

Menopausio · 01/07/2026 06:14

First full day off in ages and Ive woken up with a stonking headache which is going to turn into a migraine ( pain has migrated to my left eye) Ive got shit loads to do today .

violetcuriosity · 01/07/2026 06:15

I’m pissed off that I’m having a really shit year. I had tonsillitis in March which caused an extremely rare autoimmune attack on my brain and spinal cord which is taking a long time to recover from. I’m having said tonsils removed today which is going to be shit in itself. I have young kids and no idea how that’s going to work. I’ve been desperately looking for a portable AC unit, along with the rest of the country and there’s none in stock. I just want to be able to recover in a reasonable temperature 🤒 .

BirdsongSunshine · 01/07/2026 06:19

Pissed off with my micromanaging team leader! Takes ALL of my willpower not to tell her to fuck off countless times a day!

Elmo230885 · 01/07/2026 06:28

I'm pissed off at whichever neighbour it is that has a cockerel in a built up residential area. I'm also pissed off that when I tried to figure out which exact house it was so I could speak to them I was met with complete vitriol for having an issue with it. Now instead of being a grown up and talking to people I'll pinpoint the house and complain to the council.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 01/07/2026 06:29

Why are so many burger buns brioche? Who wants a sugary burger?

MinnieMountain · 01/07/2026 06:32

Feeling a bit crap yesterday afternoon has turned into a virus. I know I'm ill because I actually managed to get 8 hours sleep for a change.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 01/07/2026 06:41

@violetcuriosity Try searching evaporative cooling unit on Ebay. I found some starting at £170.
They work well & are lighter weight than AC units.

What is it with people shouting into their phones on buses and trains?

Without wanting to appear racist I've noticed it is always people from different cultures. Impossible to read my book on the train yesterday as the African woman with the impressively loud booming voice sat in the next set of seats in front doesn't give a shit about any of the other passengers and is intent on broadcasting her conversation across the whole carriage.

Quietness on public transport is soon to become a thing from a bygone era - pre mobile phones.

Noise Cancelling headphones added to my Christmas list.

Whorulestheroost1 · 01/07/2026 07:00

I am pissed off at my house chain. 8 of us altogether and my sellers are dictating that they can only move on two days out of a 2 month period which of course somebody else can't do. They have been entitled wankers all the way along and if I didn't love the house so much I would have told them to shove it up their arses months ago!

What do you say to them?

She seemed fierce and very animated.

tenfunnybeans · 01/07/2026 07:30

ds' tween friend sharing overly sexualised language and experiences with him😡

Lilacspring · 01/07/2026 07:33

The thought of 5 possibly 7 days of 30 celcius returning to my area next week 😩

JacknDiane · 01/07/2026 07:37

Next doors dog, out loudly barking before 7am every morning. And we've asked nicely if he could be quiet. Like train him not to just go outside, pee. And stand and bark at nothing for 20 minutes.
Small terraced houses, back to back gardens.

Mydogisagentleman · 01/07/2026 07:43

Mine is a first world problem.
I've spent the last 4 days driving from Southern Spain with my dog.
First day he got food poisoning and was sick in his bed. Umpteen squirty poos a couple of hours later (02.30) and a vet visit. Got him a new bed, but the car absolutely stinks.
Finally arrived at our hotel at a service station, breakfast is a £10 voucher but Leon doesn't open until 8.30.
To put the tin hat on it, I am not wearing knickers. I can't find any clean ones in the shit pit that's the back of the car.
Looking on the bright side, I should be home by midday if I leave now

Sepsissurprise · 01/07/2026 07:44

That the blooming summer cold has given me sepsis. Fortunately picked up early and I’m on antibiotics but I’ve electricians working on a project I’ve been planning for ages and I can’t go to site to have a look at the work they are doing.

kw1091 · 01/07/2026 07:45

My MIL - shock. I’m a midwife and pregnant with first baby. We’re not finding out the sex but she is convinced that because I’m a midwife I must know and I’m just not telling her. Realise it’s a non-issue but I’m hot, uncomfortable and irritable.

BiteSizeByzantine · 01/07/2026 07:49

Hoarder parent died and had hoarded the house, the garden shed, two lofts, two vehicles, two other sheds, two huge garages, my neighbours shed.rear of my garden.
Mainly heavy things like boxes of tools etc
I'm so overwhelmed with it all.

piscofrisco · 01/07/2026 07:50

DanielleTheSpanielle · 01/07/2026 03:09

We had hundreds in our loft and walls - the smell passes very quickly! Make sure you get a professional exterminator to come and find where they got in to your house and block it up so you don’t get a second infestation like we did - it was even worse than the first one 😕

This is giving me some hope. It’s may be not quite so bad this morning. But it’s not hot yet I suppose. Yesterday it was making me feel nauseous. Pest control man is due back tomorrow.
we have three useless dogs that you would think might have helped, two of which are Jack Russell’s so rat catching should be their reason for living. But nooooo.

I’m raging that my son’s school found it fitting to tell him he was changing schools before we did. How bloody dare they!

I’m sure they assumed you had already told him!
