What's pissing us all off today?

What's pissing me off today is a misogynistic man trying to throw me under a bus today on Teams in front of 30 colleagues ranging from my level to five levels above me.

I had messages from five different people during the call asking if I was OK.

The man is like bloody Teflon - no grievances seem to stick to him. I left work early and went the pub with the dog. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on.

I'm here to ask for solidarity for anyone else who is thoroughly pissed off today and see if we can fume together.

Hoarder parent died and had hoarded the house, the garden shed, two lofts, two vehicles, two other sheds, two huge garages, my neighbours shed.rear of my garden.
Mainly heavy things like boxes of tools etc
I'm so overwhelmed with it all.

Get skips. I got one for late DH’s shed. Yes I could have spent hours going through it all but as I watched myself filling it from an upstairs room I realised there was probably twenty trips to the tip in that skip.

I probably saved myself some money in fuel and I definitely save myself hours and hours of time.

Because someone else will get just the right side of completely fucked off that they will do it for them? I'm not even asking for him to DO anything, other than agree to pay for half of it.

"But what type of windows will they be? What will they look like? What if they're rubbish fitters and we have a problem?"

Well Dave, they will be in exactly the same place the current ones are because that's where the big holes in the walls are. They will be see-through, they will open and close, and they will look like pretty much every other double-glazed window you have ever seen. If there's a problem, I can pretty much guarantee that you will do fuck-all about it and leave it to me to deal with, so no need for you to worry poppet.

Sorry, this made me laugh

DH has been sick for a full year this month. Average recovery is around 6 months so he’s over double that. Not his fault of course but as we’d decided he’d be the only earner just months before he got sick it’s not been fun.

Tandmarmite · 01/07/2026 07:58

2 sets of neighbours who can't leave the house without sounding their car horns...😡

comic sans

Correct.
My two favourite(!) instances are on the pub signage (not posters, the actual metal affixed to the brick) at the Royal in south london, and secondly on all council notices of temporary /parking restrictions in the London borough I volunteer in.

I’m so angry that my daughter’s head teacher at her school has literally walked off the job and returned to the UK with zero explanation or apologies. We only started at this school last year and now really questioning our choice.

Why are so many burger buns brioche? Who wants a sugary burger?

Cos it gives the arsehole restaurant an excuse to charge more.

I need a load of guys to help me with it all too , ive got a neck injury on top of everything. If I order a skip and just climb into it and sit there do you think they'd take me away? The junk can stay, im off!

I'm pissed off that Bev Craig is campaigning for Manchester Mayor as "Bev". Apparently she's a household name who needs no introduction and can be on a first name only basis with the whole of Manchester. Like a mancunian Madonna. I only found out who she was last week.

I'm finding it annoying enough that labour ditched on the mayoralty mid term. I liked Burnham as mayor and he was doing a great job. We had a decent PM. We did not need this by-election. It almost makes me want to vote green but I could not live with myself if reform got in.

🤣🤣🤣

Obviously not for everyone but when I had to clear out a Grandparent's garage, sheds and out houses, which I knew all needed skipping, I had 3 local lads do it. They had been trying to make a bit of cash for the summer by mowing lawns and offering to wash cars. This was over the summer a few years ago, they were 14/15. Spoke to the parents and they were happy they were earning and keeping out of trouble.

BurntBroccoli · 01/07/2026 08:19

Also sick of blokes at work who can’t meet a deadline and try to blame me (when I’ve reminded them at least 4 times).

KeeepWalking · 01/07/2026 08:23

I'm so pissed off that my plantar fasciitis has flared up again after several years of being pain free. Just as I'm retiring and want to be more active. Bast*rd 😡 😤

UnicornPug · 01/07/2026 08:28

We’re going away on Friday and my husband and son haven’t even started washing things they might want to take. Told them both last week that I would be busier towards the end of this week and would happily help but would be out of spare time by Wed. They’ve done fuck all. We’re visiting dd overseas and have a long list of stuff to take. Will put all of her requests with my stuff in the cases and they can wear a fetching array of dresses and skirts for all I care. 😂

YES, as in I agree not that I want a brioche with my burger

Afolnerd · 01/07/2026 08:44

We completed on our new house yesterday and judging by the state of it they stopped cleaning it the second they accepted our offer.
I wanted to cry when I walked in.
Manky fuckers!
So now I have to spend my entire day off scrubbing the whole house!
Luckily we aren’t moving in straight away.
But seriously what the fuck is wrong with people, they haven’t even hoovered!

DH likes them. They were a novelty that I'm fed up of. Because I did the Tesco order for our holiday this month, I've chosen normal buns. I'd like to see him find brioche buns in the depths of the Pembrokeshire countryside.

True. There is so much sugar in foods, that there does not need to be, imo.

@Charlize43 and @Nsky62 many years ago I was , along with paid carers, supporting my friend's elderly mum.
At a SS mtg held in her bedroom/living room,I asked one of the several people there to talk more quietly .
The room was crowded and it was overwhelming , distracting from the issue at hand .
I was told in no uncertain terms that in the African culture it was normal to speak loudly and that I was being racist .

MissCooCooMcgoo · 01/07/2026 09:20

Everyone keeps snacking on the packed lunch stuff I buy and then wondering why their packed lunches are shit.

Our financial situation has changed and I cannot afford to rebuy the same stuff 3 times a week now people! Reign in your greedy and eat the meals I make and the damn fruit in the fruit bowl!

Nsky62 · 01/07/2026 09:22

Charlize43 · 01/07/2026 07:29

What do you say to them?

She seemed fierce and very animated.

We don’t all wish to hear your conversations, please be quieter

Husband.

I’m pissed off that my HRT doesn’t seem to be working and I am constantly boiling hot and overly emotional. Trying to speak to a dr is so difficult and they won’t even look at my request for an appointment for 4/5 weeks. I could scream.

Do a quick pass through and take away anything that looks like it might be useful/interesting (folders/letters/photos) - put them in several bin bags to go through later when you've got the strength. Then get a house clearance firm to quote for doing everything - they've seen it all. Some are linked with auction houses and will sell off anything that has a value and take that off their charges. There will be a cost to it, but (assuming you're the executor and/or beneficiary of the will) it will be something that can be charged to the estate as it will need to be done before the house is sold. Its really worth it in terms of reducing stress.

Work going on about their profits, while wanting us to work more and giving pay rises that are less than inflation.

Person at work who seems to ignore everything I say/ask/write until someone else says the same thing.

Generally having no time, not enough space in the house, too much to juggle. And the ex-husband calling me lazy (while he rarely has the kids and does nothing with them)
