I’m fed up of it too, it’s ruined the first 5 days of our UK holiday, it’s been unbearable staying in accommodation with no air conditioning. We’ve looked forward to this for months 😩

Please send some heat to Scotland.

We will be grateful for it.

I'd happily swap places with you. I'll take your cool Scotland and you can have my oppressive, hellishly hot East Anglia lol

I can’t wait to come home to 18 degrees and showers tomorrow! It was 37 in Devon yesterday at one point

Shudacudawuda · 26/06/2026 17:58

I'm not enjoying it at all and I usually love it when we get a dash of warm weather. But this is too much, the nights have been especially awful. Looking forward to Sunday and considering moving north.

I think we have another day of it in the south-east, though it should at least be under 30.

As for the pp who wants to move somewhere hot, give it a decade and the UK will be permanently hot.

Tell that to parts of Scotland. Still waiting for temperatures over 25c lol

Sunshineandrainbow · 26/06/2026 18:12

Can't bear it and now got to put my uniform on and go to work in and out of peoples homes 😑

RhosynCymru · 26/06/2026 18:17

Hated every last minute. As a fitness trainer it’s been hell and I’ve thrown up after quite a few of my classes this week. I never feel the cold or if I do I just move around until I get warm. I suffer summer SAD - probably not surprising when you consider the constant discomfort, nausea and headaches and lack of sleep. I curse every whinger who uttered the phrase “where’s our summer “ because they always get their stinking summer! On the other hand what happened to “winter “?

booksareforlife · 26/06/2026 17:23

There's not a single good thing about it.

-I get summer SAD and this has spiked my depression to horrible levels.
-My routine is completely out of the window
-I'm practically a zombie at this point as it's taking forever to fall asleep (Even with AC) and when I do i'm waking up at 4am to get the dog walked
-I have absolutely zero energy or motivation to do anything, i've spent most days this week just staring at a wall.
-We've got a portable AC unit and it's struggling. It's getting to about 20ish but won't go below that.
-I'm just craving sugary snacks constantly.

Are you me?? I am horribly depressed and can’t think straight

catslovehairties · 26/06/2026 18:22

It's finally cooled down here in Cumbria.

I'm a dog walker and have had to cancel three days of walks, I've barely slept as it's just too bloody hot and sweaty and I'm also autistic so I'm struggling massively with temperature regulation and sensory overwhelm, as well as with my routine being totally out of whack. It has been HORRIBLE.

greengreyblue · 26/06/2026 18:23

I notice some people barely sweat. My face is a sweaty mess .Is it the Irish blood? I’m clearly not built for this.

I'm now planning to move up there after hearing this could become a regular thing!

MinimumRage · 26/06/2026 18:27

So annoying now.

I hate feeling flopped, lethargic, no appetite, living inside with curtains closed and fans doof-doofing.

I love running and being outdoors and being active which I cannot do in this heat.

Someone switch it off. V jealous of those in the West Courtney and hope London cools down soon!

happysinglemama · 26/06/2026 18:31

I can’t complain as I hate the cold but it’s annoying when I can’t sleep straight away and am not buying a fan for 4 days heat today is the last day right ? It’s just 27 degrees tomorrow . Otherwise it’s glorious I absolutely love it during the day

Allonthesametrain · 26/06/2026 18:37

Personally, as a teacher in unbearably hot classrooms with mutiny from my students they shouldn't be there, windows which open a crack, can't drink too much water as no opportunity to go to the loo, corridors which have no ventilation wheeling around a trolley amongst hordes of teenagers, yes!

At the end of day I'm wilted, even more exhausted than usual and look forward to going home to mark in front of a fan with just me in a room after DC in bed!

Allonthesametrain · 26/06/2026 18:40

To add, I also think it depends upon your day. Very different someone working outside in a manual job/in hot buildings full of people or an office with AC or wfh.

Odiebay · 26/06/2026 18:42

I have POTS and to top it off my period arrived this week. It has been hell. No energy, I have done hardly anything at work, can't stand without feeling faint. Iv always hated the heat. My birthday is this weekend and I'm praying for rain!

SadiraOfTyr · 26/06/2026 18:42

It's ending tomorrow - a nice cool 31C forecast for Saturday here which will be bliss compared to what we have had.

I’m with you! Where are our frosty cold winters gone? Fellow summer SAD sufferer here. If I could fast forward through June, July & August I would.

Wednesday505 · 26/06/2026 14:39

No good if you have to work in it.

Or do anything in it. This weather is for holidays or lazy arses only.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2026 18:52

I hate it too, but according to the tv and the experts it’s here to stay , so we shall have to adapt or buy air conditioning or move to Scotland. All of which can’t happen for the normal people. It is completely depressing.

ImogenBrocklehurst · 26/06/2026 19:03

I hate it. Can’t wait for it to be over. A cold might tip me over the edge, so I have every sympathy, OP x

CandidRaven · 26/06/2026 19:13

I'm miserable I like the cold, being able to have my quilt on at night and wrapping up, I'm currently sat with 2 fans going in a thin nighty and I still feel like I'm in an oven and my toddler is permanently wanting to breastfeed which is making it even more unbearable as she's like a hot water bottle 😅

Mykneesareshot · 26/06/2026 19:21

At work in a factory all week with no AC and today topped at 37°. It's been the week from hell. If the hours weren't so good I would quit as they say this will become the norm for the future.

WhatNoRaisins · 26/06/2026 19:26

It's very restrictive for me. I can't walk far, the slightest amount of housework sends me into a sweaty mess so the house is a tip. There are few places to go or take the kids as everywhere is too hot to enjoy ourselves. We can't sleep properly at night. I feel like we are living like we are ill and just staying in watching TV when we'd normally be doing things.
