Performative drivel from grown adults

A few of my friends with fathers who are very much alive and well, but not on instagram - posting stories wishing them a HFD! Pick up the bloody phone and tell them for goodness sake.

Performative nonsense, or is it me?

Isn't everyone posting on social media attention seeking in some way? Otherwise, why do it?

I say that as someone who stopped posting a few years ago. I realised I was doing it for validation and that wasn't healthy (for me, at least).

I couldn't have put better myself @PetuniaTabbernacle
If someone finds comfort in posting, it's understandable, I don't understand how it can't be put kept in private groups, messenger or WhatsApp, whichever way.
People have enough to deal with usually. Why subject random people to your personal stuff? Many readers could be traumatised themselves in some way or another.
Sorry but keep your audience tighter.

I once saw someone say “sorry I forgot to do a happy Father’s Day post. I accidentally told him in real life” 😂
