Another day another random assortment of hassle and pain

And this is pretty much the best it's ever been (ok the 00s were better)

Aibu to wonder why this is a secret truth?

That's ours in the morning. They kept us going through lockdown. All the bad news then open the shed and you get this reaction. You have to smile.

Love it! Animals are one of the few joys I still have. It's basically a wildlife haven here-deer in the garden, wild bunnies everywhere. A baby one was right up at the door earlier nibbling the plants (I can forgive that lol) sheep and lambs close by. I love to see them. The only animals we don't have is goats and cows atm lol. I bet you could spend hours watching the goats!

YABU if you think it’s the best it’s ever been….the last decade has been shambolic from a political and economical point of view…

OP, I,m with you on this one. God help my grandchildren dealing with the next 50 years.
For those who say "snap out of it" and "be positive", perhaps you haven't looked at what's happening around you.
Day to day life is difficult, and it tests everyone, but sometimes I just despair.

Completely agree OP. Life is pretty miserable these days. I work all day to barely afford groceries. If I'm not working I'm cleaning or something equally as tedious. I'm getting older and my joints are starting to give up on me. Then at the end is just death? Feels like an absolute joke. The moments of joy aren't enough. I wish I'd never been born if im completely honest.

I agree Frog 1004. Why the hell do we bother?

Feeling like this, are there any changes you can make to your life to make things easier and get off the treadmill? I'd be prepared to make quite dramatic changes to make life easier and more enjoyable (and have in the past).

Such as? I still need to work. I still need to clean.

Things like, if you moved to a cheaper area (no idea what the COL is where you are), would that mean you could work less? Are you funding things that you can do differently or not fund? Do you have things you never feel you have time for that you could do if you set a timer on - like a game or social media that can make time disappear fast if you're not careful. Are you cleaning standards something that can relax a bit?

In my own life I've sometimes done things like that with good results.

She is probably still nursing her hangover acquired during the bottle of vodka she consumed while constructing this thread.
