Noted that Harriet Sperling was at Ascot today .... as the press keep reporting she's an NHS nurse do you think someone swapped shifts with her today. Will her roster be flexible for the new jaunts???

I'm a nurse and work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and no Annual Leave either. If only I could marry the DS of a princess to escape the hospital...

Vaxtable · 17/06/2026 16:58

No need to be so snarky

Anarchy99 · 17/06/2026 16:59

Are you this bitter about all nurses having time off or just those who marry the King’s nephew? I think nurses are allowed some time off

BridportMarket · 17/06/2026 17:01

She's on her honeymoon isn't she?

EnormousGinplease · 17/06/2026 17:02

Not being snarky or bitchy as accused ... merely pointing out the juxtaposition and my somewhat jaded view of working in the NHS.

To anyone wondering, yes she still works:

Yes, Harriet Sperling still works as a pediatric nurse specialist for the National Health Service (NHS) in Gloucestershire.

many nurses I know work 24 hours a week either 2 x 12 hours or 3x8 hours for work life balance.

Dollymylove · 17/06/2026 17:03

Surely the wedding was booked ages ago and annual leave was booked to accommodate this. Who the hell wants to go straight back to work after getting married?
Just a reminder also, before the vitriol starts, Peter (and his sister) are not titled and not supported by the taxpayer.
Obvious perks like Royal Ascot etc but hell, if my uncle was the King I would be bloody well enjoying the perks as well!!

You've been called out for bitchiness, that is the basis of the matter.
Your personal circumstances are not relevant.

juxtaposition of the NHS and having time off????

ArchieStar · 17/06/2026 17:05

Oh this really isn’t going the way OP thought it would 😂

Are you think the same for everyone else who was there - have they requested time off, or had a shift swap? Oooh maybe they saved up their disability benefits for the year to go!

Get a grip, OP.

Last I checked, even nurses are allowed, annual leave.

I have a friend who is a nurse and every time I see them not helping sick people I post about it online. It's bad enough when they are doing housework but if they're out enjoying themself it makes my blood boil

How can you even be friends with someone like this? Next you'll say she wants paying for tending the sick!!

ofcolitas · 17/06/2026 17:07

She aint a regular NHS nurse they must think we're stupid to believe that.

Cornishclio · 17/06/2026 17:08

This is a strange post. Last time I looked nurses can apply for annual leave for events they want to attend. She does not have to work 24/7. It is one day. Leave her alone.

MissVerucaSalt · 17/06/2026 17:09

Do you think all nurses work 24/7 shifts or something?! What a weird and spiteful thread. Maybe she’s just not rostered on today. Maybe she took annual leave. Maybe she’s on nights and is working later. It’s really none of your business.

Bobajobob · 17/06/2026 17:09

NHS nurses have to be at work 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. You should report her, CF. She is probably claiming benefits as well.

So you've never taken annual leave? Got married on the Saturday, and was on shift Saturday night never to have another day off ever again?
I'm sorry you never met a nearly-Prince.

Dkes this help?
Maybe you can message her and get an intro to one of his mates!

No, she's a paediatric one. They're extra special

IdaGlossop · 17/06/2026 17:12

No wonder the NHS is in such a mess when ýou've got nurses tarting about in their finery betting on horses instead of emptying bedpans and inserting catheters.

Glowingup · 17/06/2026 17:13

Doubt she is employed full time. I suspect she picks up the odd bank shift to keep her hand in but I refuse to believe that she does regular shifts as a nurse. And yes she’s loaded and with links to the aristocracy.

HelenaWilson · 17/06/2026 17:16

You never know, some of the other women at Ascot today, all dressed up and wearing fancy hats, might also work for the nhs. Is that allowed? Is it only people connected to the Royal Family who aren't allowed time off?

Working class? Are you having a laugh? She’s about as working class as Kate Middleton, that’s to say, not at all.

Given her profile now @EnormousGinplease would she even be able to pull a sickie? 😉😀
