Noted that Harriet Sperling was at Ascot today .... as the press keep reporting she's an NHS nurse do you think someone swapped shifts with her today. Will her roster be flexible for the new jaunts???

OP posts:

I think some folks thinking working for the nhs is some form of torturous experience. Due to the way shifts work they work 131 days a year. It is very easy to either book holiday or swap shifts. Nurses have days off. This would have been in the diary for a long time.

shes not down the bloody mines.

GreenWheat · 17/06/2026 16:30

Gosh yes, there's no way she could have a job and also time off. Because nobody does that do they?

Thebigonesgetaway · 17/06/2026 16:32

My friends child got married a few weeks ago, her aunt is a nurse, she was there, in fact for the whole weekend. I will write to her managers, nurse has day off! How is it possible!

alternativelh it’s like any other employment and you’re allowed holidays, ya know like the law dictates.

Questi3nn · 17/06/2026 16:32

How dare she take annual leave. Or work shifts or maybe even give up work 🙄

Overtheatlantic · 17/06/2026 16:33

Bitchy thread. I hope she had a fantastic time at Ascot. She looked stunning and so happy.

Clearly special privalge as she married a royal. The rest of the nurses are in there 24/7.

But what a bonkers way to be bitchy. I saw it in the daily fail too, people complaining she had a day off. Utter insanity.

Miyagi99 · 17/06/2026 16:35

All NHS workers can take annual leave!

Whitesapphire · 17/06/2026 16:36

I’m a nurse - I have tons of weekdays off, it’s great. Could never work Monday to Friday.

sittingonabeach · 17/06/2026 16:38

She was there yesterday (not that I have a problem with that)

Christ, we’re allowed days off you know. Perhaps she’s on annual leave, perhaps she’s on days off before weekend nights, perhaps she’s reduced her hours.

HoldMyWine · 17/06/2026 16:39

It’s absolutely none of your business

Thebigonesgetaway · 17/06/2026 16:39

I think it’s jealousy, she’s attractive, slim, wealthy. So people want to rip her down. And by people I mean other women. It’s appalling in this day and age.

but to think she can’t get a day off without putting another member of staff out as she’s a nurse is just insane.

outerspacepotato · 17/06/2026 16:41

What's your unreasonable beef with a nurse getting their wedding day off?

Fizzybluewater · 17/06/2026 16:42

Saucer of milk for the OP.

saraclara · 17/06/2026 16:50

Tigerbalmshark · 17/06/2026 16:18

Very common for nurses to work 3x long days (or night shifts) and have two weekdays off per week (so 36 hours over 3 days not 5).

It is how most nurses with families manage their childcare.

Exactly. My DD has four days off a week (so at least two weekdays) as she works three 12.5 hour days. She'd easily be able to go to Ascot or anywhere else on a weekday.

LivesinLondon2000 · 17/06/2026 16:50

She may be a qualified nurse but doesn’t mean she’s necessarily currently working as one. Quite possibly has an independent source of income - who knows. Or it’s just her day off. Lots of possible explanations.
Loved the photos of her at Ascot - she looked just gorgeous

emilysquest · 17/06/2026 16:52

What? I worked for the NHS for thirty years, weirdly I managed to go on holiday twice a year, and also to take days off for family events etc. I don't understand the OP's point.

motheroftwonotsolittleones · 17/06/2026 16:52

NHS nurses can have days off? Who knew......🙄

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 17/06/2026 16:53

And she had the temerity to look gorgeous and to enjoy herself.

Has she no shame?

Hmm
JFDIYOLO · 17/06/2026 16:53

There's this weird concept called annual leave which can be booked in chunks in advance, to allow the worker to plan events such as holidays and weddings and so on.

Fizzybluewater · 17/06/2026 16:54

JollyHolly30 · 17/06/2026 16:18

You’ve seriously embarrassed yourself with this post, OP

OP seems to have left the building as peeps aren't agreeing with her.

Hmm

That is the issue, she looked gorgeous, clearly has money and they are obviously in love. So the bitter and jealous have come crawling out to attack

I imagine she is on Annual leave, rota off or maybe on "honeymoon " still, she is married to a privileged man with a privileged family horse racing is one of their interests , what do you want from her exactly?

shhblackbag · 17/06/2026 16:56

Imagine being this catty and actually showing people.
