AIBU for not checking on DH and the kids during flight?

We recently returned from an abroad holiday, we left the online check in too late which meant we had 3 seats next to each other, and then a seat further down the plane about 15 rows in front, as opposed to next to the 3 on the opposing row (as we did on the way out).

I took the single seat and DH was with DS2 and DD5 in the three.

The flight was only short haul so about 2.5 hours. DH was (and to an extent still is) unhappy that I didn’t check in with him during the flight, which he described as hard work with our kids being young.

I said he’s perfectly capable of parenting and didn’t need me checking up on him. He maintains I should have checked in.

Asking repeated questions is an important part of young children’s cognitive development. You should not tell them to stop asking questions. You should play your part as a proper parent.

You do that. I'm not sitting having my ear chewed off constantly. And seeing as all my children have grown into responsible adults then I don't think it's done them any harm

😂 asking the same questions repeatedly is going to annoy people and there’s nothing wrong with children learning that too. Maybe along with all the parenting books you read you should read some about how to engage with other parents with being an overly critical know-it-all

Oh come on @Harry12345!! It’s 2.5 hours. Utterly ridiculous. Only on MN 😂

I feel for your children. Your language and turn of phrase is dreadful, between that and you ignoring them, I shudder at the appalling example you're setting them.

You dont get out much do you?! Unclench love!

What did I say that was redicilous? I’ve had 3 two year olds and flights can be hard going with them especially if ears sore or over tired. If my partner and I saying hi to each other on a flight is ridiculous then I’m happy to be
