To ask what's your favourite part of your body?

Seen many threads lately about women fretting over what body parts of themselves that they hate and it makes me sad. It makes me sad that I feel this way about myself, too.

Every single day I see new social media posts/articles about X celebrity has gained/lost weight and looks awful, or 'look at how great this conventionally attractive celebrity looks' then pick her apart down to bone structure and genetics, to make women everywhere race to the mirror once more and pick themselves apart for not looking like that. I'm sick of it.

So, what is your favourite body part? What do you love about your body?

I like my arms. They used to be extremely lean and toned and then I had kids and give up on myself for a while and they got fatter. They're leaning out again now that I have remembered I am a human being and started exercising/eating well again and I'm starting to like them! Yay. I also like my legs even though they're short and stubby as hell. But they're curvy and chonky and I like it.

I have to say my least favourite part would be my stomach as it is 90% loose skin and no effort. But, I'm coming to accept it for what it is; my children's first home and, well, it's just a stomach. Who cares.

Let's be having it sexy ladies

My hair. Never dyed it or used lots of heat on it.
Now in my mid 40's I thank my younger self on the regular.

I also really like my laughter lines. It sounds horribly cheesy but it reminds me how lucky I am to age.

I like the crows feet by my eyes. I like seeing them on other women too, i think they look attractive and make a person look kind.

TheeNotoriousPIG · Yesterday 22:08

My eyebrows, as they require no maintenance whatsoever!

I like that my eyes are big, and my eyelashes are long and have no need for lash lifts.

My cheekbones are pretty magnificent, too!

I am surprisingly muscular and strong (thanks, in part, to my job)… so my athletic figure has proven useful, after years of being called ‘fat’ for it at school by the stick-thin brigade.

Oh, and I am said to look a LOT younger than my age. It comes in handy at times.

Considering that I spent a lot of my youth being made to hate myself and my looks (this could be why I left school with a very low opinion of a majority of people…), this is definitely progress!

@PawMaw , thank you for the reassurance that we can get on hyperpigmentation and redness! I am very fair, and I’m midway through a long course of creams and antibiotics for rosacea, but will be adding your suggestions to my list!

No greys at 49?? Lucky lucky. Im 29 and have found 3 greys so far. My life is just stress and caffeine tbf

I’m 50 with no greys. My parents were both well into their 60’s before they had any.

Floatingdownriver · Yesterday 22:23

My face. I’m very lucky and am objectively beautiful.

You sound absolutely gorgeous tbh. I am the same; i always make sure to talk positively about myself in front of my children, even at their young ages. I would really hate for either of them to feel the way that I have felt about myself at points. Self-esteem and confidence starts in the home!

Thanks! @worldshottestmom
yes I couldn't agree more, I grew up in the late 80's/90's and all I heard from every woman around me, and my own mum, was how they needed to be skinny to be beautiful, it was ingrained in me for years and I hope my girls never have to hear that or ever think that.

Very important. My mum loathed her body and took no care to hide the fact. By about aged nine I was the same.

Full natural soft lips
pretty feet according to my husband and my old G.P 🤔
thick hair
get compliments about my complexion

PurpleAxe · Today 00:25

My back. I used to be fat and it was rounded and had rolls.

Now it is straight, well muscled and no rolls.

I love wearing backless stuff and watching the mucles flex in the mirror. I worked hard for this body and it brings me joy.

I quite like my enormous quads now as well. They have always been huge but now the a muscle rather than fat.

My eyes. They are an unusual shade of greeny-blue and my eyelashes are naturally dark and long. One of my old boyfriends looked at me adoringly one day, when he was telling me how much he loved me and couldn't quite explain it. He ended the conversation with, 'It's your eyes...' That always stayed with me, the way he looked at me when he said it.

GoodkneeBadKnee · Today 06:17

I get compliments on my skin regularly. I don't follow any particular regime, just good genes I guess? People always think I'm younger than I am. I also like that I'm tall with long limbs, so most clothes look nice on me. This is a fab thread!

Jennalong · Today 06:21

BettyJoanPerske · Yesterday 19:54

I love being tall as well. I'm not as tall as you, only five eight, but I would love to be even taller.

Lucky , lucky you . Hate being a shortie . I'm barely 5 ft tall and even short leg trousers in most places are to long . Shoe size 3.5 /4 .
Get overlooked in being served in places , can't get stuff off top shelves in supermarkets or even in my own kitchen . Well jel .

I'm always getting things off the higher shelves for shorter people 🤣

Genuinely nothing which is really depressing. It’s lovely to read so many of you being able to celebrate, even a little something of, yourselves.

Evaka · Today 07:18

Love my bum, have good hair, nice small boobs. I hated my fairly thick legs for a long time but we're pals now. They're strong and serve me well.

I was a skinny youngster and have filled out a bit in recent years to align with the world becoming a bit arse obsessed. Lucky!

Hope you can find something to appreciate in yourself. I often remember quite random things about people. Just this morning I was thinking about how my boss has elegant hands and striking eyes! It's not always the obvious stuff that stands out x

ViciousCurrentBun · Today 07:21

The back of my knees.

In reality I have never contemplated the good or bad bits. The only time I had an issue was when I lost a lot of hair due to stress when my DD died. It thankfully grew back but took about 6 years,

Interesting - I do wonder what others would say. I often notice little details of others like a lovely tip of their nose etc. My partner often says I have nice knees. Sexy, hey!

Pyjamatimenow · Today 07:24

Gosh I’m very envious of people on this thread. The only things I like about my body is the two babies it gave me and the fact it hasn’t yet gone wrong health wise.

FastFood · Today 07:43

Nothing in particular, I like my whole body and face, I feel very lucky with them, I'm not a super model by any stretch of the mind but I have good genes.
Women in my family tend to be very slim and petite and it looks like I have inherited that. I'm 46 now and still got a tone body and flat stomach without making much effort.

Greenwitchart · Today 07:43

BigOldBlobsy · Today 07:46

My hair (v curly, always gets compliments)
My ears (small, nice shape, lots of pretty gold piercings)
My eyes - have long lashes
My lips - full
My skin is decent now (used to have eczema)
Ive lost weight and back to my having a slim waist which is nice
My feet are decent
My hands are lovely when I’m not picking my cuticles off

MarmaladeSandwich7 · Today 07:49

I still like my big boobs, although they’re “going south” now I’m 60! And the fact that I am pretty much wrinkle free ( thank you DF!)

I love all the tiny gold rings i have in my ears, too. I remember when i got them all done back in the 90s my older sis disapprovingly said, "you'll regret that". She couldn't have been more wrong.

Congrats on banishing eczema. Do you have any tips?
