To ask what's your favourite part of your body?

Seen many threads lately about women fretting over what body parts of themselves that they hate and it makes me sad. It makes me sad that I feel this way about myself, too.

Every single day I see new social media posts/articles about X celebrity has gained/lost weight and looks awful, or 'look at how great this conventionally attractive celebrity looks' then pick her apart down to bone structure and genetics, to make women everywhere race to the mirror once more and pick themselves apart for not looking like that. I'm sick of it.

So, what is your favourite body part? What do you love about your body?

I like my arms. They used to be extremely lean and toned and then I had kids and give up on myself for a while and they got fatter. They're leaning out again now that I have remembered I am a human being and started exercising/eating well again and I'm starting to like them! Yay. I also like my legs even though they're short and stubby as hell. But they're curvy and chonky and I like it.

I have to say my least favourite part would be my stomach as it is 90% loose skin and no effort. But, I'm coming to accept it for what it is; my children's first home and, well, it's just a stomach. Who cares.

Let's be having it sexy ladies

Forgive me for being an interloper, but my wife is no longer here to comment. I loved her sense of humour. Illness changed the shape of her body, and removed parts of it, but I loved her anyway. It was nothing to do with the physical, it's what is inside a balloon that makes it go up.

Her inner person was fabulous. The wrapper was great too, but it was just the wrapper. I was looking forward to growing old with her, with whatever that brought to her wrapper and mine, however fate had other plans.

Beautiful. We should all be paying attention to this.

This is hard when you've had a lifetime of absolutely hating your body, but I'll have a go. My strength and fitness I guess - at 51 I can still hike, ski, sail, ride my bike, body board, swim etc. I can eat what I want and as much as I want and never put on weight. I'm one of those people who others say "just eat a pie" to, and I have never been able to wear strapless dresses (they don't stay up) and my spine is curved from scoliosis. But my body lets me do fun exciting stuff. I have ok skin.

There. I had a go.

My hair, I'm a natural redhead and hated it so much growing up but I'm glad my mum never let me dye it, it's so thick and healthy now.
i love my lips, they're naturally very red and plump and I love my freckly skin.
Since I became a mum it's given me a new appreciation for my body and I've learnt to love myself a little more, I'd hate to hear my girls talking negatively about their bodies so I make a conscious effort not to do it to myself.

When I break it all down, there's actually quite a lot I like about myself.

  • I like that my boobs look good topless
  • I like my legs, unproportionately long for my height
  • I like my heart shaped bum
  • I like my eyes, grey with brown central heterochromia
  • I like my feet!
  • I love my pale skin, especially now I've got on top of my redness and hyperpigmentation. I'm proud of my blemish free, un-sundamged skin as it took a lot of work
  • I like my cheekbones

I've liked thinking about this and realising there's more that I like about my appearance than I dislike!

Please tell me how you got rid of your hyperpigmentation 🥰

I think thats so important. I spent so much of my 20s/30s hating my body but now I think well damn, you've been through so much and been such a loyal friend to me. I love you body.

Honestly that's where I am now, late 20s and most people my age that I know are childless and in their gym era. I'm just not bothering to compare anymore and turning inwards for validation. I also love you, body

So @worldshottestmom I've got three GB athletes in my family. All love their food after starving for years! We have good genes. Our son is 6'6" and looks like Rene Lege Page from Bridgerton to the extent my friends said, 'oh don't watch that because it's looks like x!'
I think the most attractive gift is a smile. I'm the nutter on the bus. I even don't take taxis in London to be able to talk to people. We don't know if they've spoken to anyone else today.
There is always sex out there for women but for gods sake don't move them in unless they are wealthier than you. I like a c*ck but not a Cocklodger!
We just need to be aware of our worth. Go girls I say. X

Aw this was so beautiful to read. What a lovely sentiment to your late wife. I hope I can find someone who cherishes me like this one day.

Alpha arbutin, niacinamide, spf 50 and a lot of patience 😁

I’ve spent most of my life battling with body dysmorphia. It’s nice for people to like their body but I honestly think it’s generally best not to evaluate its different features under the lens of what is conventionally attractive and try to view it in a neutral way.

I think I agree. Reading these posts has made me sad (although happy for other posters), but I can’t think of anything I like about mine and as I’m chronically ill it lets me down in terms of strength and stamina too.

OP I'm going to tell you a story. I'm an ex model, my husband an ex international basketball player. We both got fat! He still loves me ( evidenced by wiping intimate parts last year when I was bed ridden and thought to be dying). So here's the thing from my late mother who married three times. If a man doesn't love you in two weeks, they won't. She was bloody right. We have the advantage of glamour, I think men need to work harder now we can out earn them. Fwiw I thought my son would get a Dolly, not so, his gf is a civil servant with a good job and definitely not a size 10!

motheroftwonotsolittleones · Yesterday 20:33

My boobs in a bra- they look great. But when I take my over the shoulder boulders holder off they're done to my waist! 😂 I like my neck and eyes. I very thin lips which do has just offered to pay for me to have done as the older I've got the worse they are. My nose is wonky and I have a big chin. Also my arse is flat and I have a tummy!!

Carlie97 · Yesterday 20:36

My feet. They're big (size 8) and wide but they're tanned and I think look nice, however someone in my family regularly tells me I have horrible feet.

My eyes too.

Wow I feel like I'm talking to a celebrity now. I think this grants me authorisation to tell everybody I know that I am friends with a GB Olympic athlete.

Honestly, I hate my smile. I was neglected as a child ans had an ED and my teeth were subsequently destroyed. I have spent many years fixing them but still a long road ahead. I long for my dream smile one day.

Solid advice on the cocklodgers, hahaha. Known a fair few of them. The only way I'm ever moving a man into my house is if he is rich and about to die.

Tell them they're adopted and thats why you have better feet than them.

I think most eyes are lovely honestly. Green and brown are my faves

I feel like you're going to end up being someone really famous. I can't believe I'm talking to a model right now. Makes me wonder how many famous people are on here 🤔

Honestly your husband sounds great, not many men would do something like that! And I think your mother was right to be honest. Someone's you just know in those early weeks if it's right or not; love at first sight as they say.

Aww well at least he's found someone who makes him happy! My mum always told me she thought that I would be a model when I was growing up. She said I had a "chocolate box face", and I never really knew what she meant. I never became a model as I'm 5'1 so was set up for failure to begin with lol

My skin tone. Although I'm blue eyed I'm naturally not pale, not quite olive but I tan very easily. In the depths of winter I stand out as not pale.
I uses to hate my legs but since ive been working out I like them a lot more.
Boobs are pretty impressive.
I really like my forearms

That's a great point. Id say I wouldn't get very far without my brain but I'm not sure I've got one tbh

Even had to edit this comment, point proven

Damn would love to have a darker skin tone. I am white as paper, though I do tan fairly well.

Forearms is a good one! I like mine too

I'm gonna be honest and say I thought that I'd feel positive from this thread, but I'm just realising how ugly I am hahaha

Being chronically ill doesn't mean that you aren't beautiful. Id bet money that you have many admirable features

My face I’m on the tubby side but exceptionally beautiful - I’ve been told it since I was a child. I have big eyes and warm smile. I hate my belly!!
