Where is everyone doing their supermarket shop from?

Hi,

I usually tend to do an online Asda shop but it’s costing a lot more recently. I used to go to Aldi but then would need to go to Asda anyway for a few brand things they didn’t have (that I couldn’t find a decent substitute for).

Recently Asda prices have also soared and I’m just curious as to whether it’s worth switching back to doing the bulk of it from Aldi and then going to Asda for the branded bits I need. With that being said I do have a toddler and it used to get tedious going to two different supermarkets so I started doing an online Asda shop for convenience but can tell a big difference in prices and their rewards system is rubbish.

Where everyone does their food shop from and how much they spend (if you don’t mind sharing!)

Thanks

More recently I’m using Lidl. I like the vegetarian options (much better than Aldi), especially the tofu and tempeh. The ‘posh’ humous and muesli are lovely.
I get a few bits in Sainsburys and agree with PP that it’s the cheapest now (when using the Nectar card).

Usually Aldi or Lidl, but my shopping bill has gone up to about £120 a week for 2 of us and I need to do something about it.

I've started online shopping more because I spend less on impulse buys. Usually asda but I do buy from Ocado occasionally because they have an excellent range of things that are difficult to find elsewhere.

I don't like online shopping though because they don't check the use bys or quality of fruit and veg. I always end up with over ripe bananas or sandwich meat that goes off in a day or two.

We do our big shop at Ocado great not having to lug everything home and can do the shop in bed at night. We then have a Tescos and Waitrose same distance from our house so pick between both for little shops depending on what I want. I love a rotisserie chicken and only Waitrose do them. Tescos price match Aldi and Ocado price match Tescos. Im fortunate that I can afford to buy in bulk and stock up on things when I see them on offer.

Aldi and then a couple of bits in M&S next door. Then an occasional Tesco delivery for bits I can’t get elsewhere. I can’t stand Sainsbury’s or Asda

Tesco as we live near a big one. I have tried Aldi but the quality is so variable I didn't like it. I've just focused on trying to reduce the cost by reducing food waste to balance it out.

Tesco, Sainsburys or M&S. I need home deliveries, and they are best.

We've settled on a bit of a range of shops TBH, not really driven by cost but more by quality!

Each month we tend to get:
1 Ocado shop mainly for M&S items
1 Sainsbury's shop for cupboard items, soft drinks etc (sometimes we skip Sainsbury's and do 2x Ocado)
Morrisons - is our big local store so we tend to pop in there for too up shops and meat
2-3 local butchers
Uber eats - on Mondays they do up to 50% off fruit and veg so we tend to get this weekly and normally order from Morrisons or Waitrose
1 x Virgin Wines order
1x home bargains or b&m for cleaning products and general toiletries
